Chapter 382 Not Home

Aragorn saw Paul and immediately asked him, "Where have you been these days? Do you know we've all been looking for you?"

Paul didn't care and said, "Why are you looking for me? I'm old enough not to get lost."

Aragorn was infuriated by Paul and pointed at his head.

"You're old enough to be a real man. Your mom has already gone back because of some issues. If you're done playing, you should go back too."

"I don't want to go back. It's no fun there."

"You!"

Nicholas was disobedient, and so was Paul. Aragorn felt that these younger ones were just here to annoy him.

Gummidge came over and gently pulled Paul to sit down.

"Since you're finally home, stay a few more days. Nicholas and Daisy are getting married, and you can be Nicholas' best man."

Nicholas had gone abroad for a business trip without saying a word, leaving all the wedding matters to her, including finding a best man.

"I don't want to be the best man. Being a best man means I won't find a girlfriend."

"That's nonsense. How would being a best man stop you from finding a girlfriend? Maybe there's a girl you like on Daisy's side."

Paul hadn't forgotten his purpose for coming here.

"Where's Josie?"

"Josie's in her room practicing the violin."

"I'll go see her."

Paul stood up, took a few steps, and then asked, "Which room is Josie in?"

"That one." Gummidge pointed.

Paul asked, "Wasn't that the storage room?"

"Josie said she likes that room."

The last time Paul saw Josie, she was still a baby, adorably sucking on a bottle, looking quite feisty.

At that time, the Watson family was having a series of issues, so Paul came back to help but didn't stay long before rushing back to Country Y.

As a result, he still hadn't figured out how Nicholas and Caroline broke up.

Why did Caroline heartlessly abandon Josie?

Paul approached and heard a cheerful violin tune. He stood at the door listening for a while, and when the music stopped, he knocked and went in.

Josie's round eyes looked at Paul with a bit of panic.

"Josie, I'm your uncle." Paul smiled and walked over to hug Josie.

Josie was so scared that she flailed her hands.

"Don't be afraid; I won't hurt you."

Paul got a solid slap from Josie.

He held Josie's hands, patiently and gently coaxing her, "I even held you when you were little."

Paul felt he had never been this patient, even when coaxing a mistress.

"I don't know you," Josie said softly.

Paul, afraid of scaring Josie, quickly put her down.

"I'm your dad's brother, so you should call me Uncle Paul."

Josie politely called out, "Uncle Paul."

"Good girl, you're so cute." Paul ruffled Josie's hair, messing up her neat hair. "Josie, how about I take you out to play?"

Josie shook her head. She didn't want to go out with someone she just met.

Paul was stunned.

What should he do? Josie wasn't giving him any face.

He couldn't complete the task Emma entrusted to him.

Paul scratched his head and continued to coax.

He wasn't good at coaxing kids, let alone trying to trick one into going out, which was even harder for him.

No matter what Paul said, Josie wouldn't go out to play with him.

Gummidge came in and slapped Paul on the back.

"Don't lead Josie astray."

"I won't lead Josie astray. I just want to take her out to play." Paul pouted.

Paul didn't give up and planned to get closer to Josie tonight so that he could take her out tomorrow.

So he stayed for dinner, constantly interacting with Josie.

Until eight or nine o'clock, when Josie was getting ready to rest, she still hadn't warmed up to Paul.

Paul left the Watson family feeling discouraged.

"Where are you going this late?" Aragorn asked sternly.

"Home. I have a place to stay."

Paul said, not giving Aragorn a chance to speak, and quickly ran off with his car keys.

Three kids were waiting at the hospital.

Emma sighed, 'I have entrusted the wrong person after all.'

Three days later, it was Daisy and Nicholas' wedding.

Daisy had chosen the wedding venue, tried on the wedding dress with her mom, and picked out the wedding ring herself.

This wedding felt like it was just her own.

She felt very wronged.

They were about to get married, but Nicholas had gone abroad for a business trip.

He didn't even respond when she asked him about various wedding details.

She felt so wronged.

But she had no choice. She didn't dare push Nicholas too hard, fearing he wouldn't show up at the wedding.

"Did Paul come back today?" Daisy asked the maid, Mary, in surprise.

Mary nodded and said, "Yes, Mr. Watson wanted to take Josie out to play, but Josie was scared and didn't go with him."

Daisy sneered. "He wants to take Josie to see Caroline, doesn't he?"

The next day, Paul's appearance seemed to confirm Daisy's suspicion.

Paul brought Josie a Barbie doll. After getting a bit more familiar with her, he suggested taking her out to play.

Josie hesitated, and Daisy appeared.

"Josie is timid and a bit afraid of strangers. She shouldn't go out. Besides, Nicholas and I are getting married soon, and it's not safe for Josie to go out."

Paul rolled his eyes secretly.

"What's unsafe about it? I'll protect Josie."

"Josie still needs to rehearse as the flower girl."

"Rehearsal can be done tomorrow. Why the rush?"

"The wedding is the day after tomorrow. Rehearsing tomorrow will be too late."

"Nicholas isn't even back yet. Why are you in such a hurry?"

Paul's words were blunt, leaving Daisy speechless and feeling stifled.

Paul ignored her and continued to coax Josie, "Josie, come out with me. I'll buy you delicious food and fun toys."

Josie continued to hesitate and thought, 'If I go out with Uncle Paul, could I see Caroline?'

Paul whispered in her ear, "I'll take you to see Caroline."

Josie looked up at Daisy and said, "I want to go out with Uncle Paul."

Daisy's eyes flashed with displeasure, and she was about to refuse.

"Let's go. I'll take you out to play." Paul didn't care whether Daisy was happy or not. He picked up Josie and left.

Josie also actively hugged Paul's neck.

Daisy stomped her foot in anger.

She wanted to follow, but Paul quickly put Josie in the car and drove off.

Ella arrived with gifts.

When she got to the Lancaster Manor, the gatekeeper told her no one was home.

Ella had to come back the next day.

Still, no one was home.

"Where did Ruth go?"

'Could Ruth have died of illness? But there is no news outside,' She thought.
