Chapter 62 Annoying Only to Him

"I don't want any accidents happening to my employees on their way home, which the company would have to compensate for," Gabriel's voice was cold.

"What do you mean!" Was he cursing at her?

This despicable man, every time Sophia saw him, she would get angry. Even though he was good-looking, he really was despicable.

Alex couldn't tolerate it anymore.

"The boss means to send you back home."

The boss was clearly worried about Miss Kelly, but he had to say it in such an unpleasant way. Miss Kelly would be strange not to be angry.

These two had truly become enemies.

Let him send her back?

She would rather risk her life.

Sophia firmly refused, "No need to trouble yourself."

Gabriel's expression grew even darker, and the confined space of the elevator suddenly felt claustrophobic. A sense of oppression overwhelmed Sophia, but she pretended not to feel it, focusing on the ceiling.

The elevator soon stopped, and Sophia walked out directly, with Alex following.

"Miss Kelly, it's really late now, and it's not safe for you to go back alone. If you don't want the boss to send you, then let me take you," Alex said.

Alex had driven to work himself, and he immediately understood what the boss's gaze meant.

After all this fuss, it was almost midnight. Sophia pondered for a moment and got into Alex's car.

Gabriel sat in the car, his chest heaving. This woman treated everyone else with a smile, but only with him, she was constantly annoying and confrontational.

For some reason, he often felt unwilling.

Gabriel was annoyed. He didn't want to go home right now, so he directly called Harrison to go out for a drink.

Ethan and Emma, both fully wrapped up, appeared at the entrance of the Lancaster Building. The building's doors were tightly locked, and looking up, one couldn't see the top.

"How do we get in?"

Ethan remembered they could enter from the parking lot through a direct elevator.

But the parking lot had security guards.

Ethan and Emma planned to sneak in through the parking lot. Just as they approached, they saw a car driving out.

Ethan protected Emma and quickly moved to the side, and he could keenly see that their bad daddy was sitting in the car.

Why was their bad daddy leaving work so late?

Where was mommy?

Humph, their bad daddy didn't care about mommy at all.

Ethan was boiling with anger.

Taking advantage of the security guard's inattention, the two little ones swiftly slipped into the parking lot, relying on their small bodies for agility.

Following their observation from their previous visit, Ethan skillfully avoided all the cameras and finally arrived at the design department.

But they found out that mommy wasn't there!

"Could it be that mommy has already left?" Emma guessed.

"Yeah, mommy must have found a way to save herself. Let's hurry back."

When Ethan returned home, Sophia was already there, anxiously preparing to go out and find someone.

As she opened the door, she saw the two little ones standing weakly at the entrance. Sophia's anger instantly disappeared, but she still had a stern expression.

"Where did you go? Do you know how late it is?"

"Mummy didn't come back, so Ethan and I got worried and came to find you," Emma pouted, looking aggrieved. Her phoenix eyes were clear and bright, glistening with a layer of moisture.

Sophia paused for a moment. "You went to Lancaster?"

She knew that the two children were daring, and it was fine for them to go out during the day. But at this late hour, they actually dared to go to Lancaster to find her.

"Yes," Ethan had no intention to hide it. "We went and didn't see Mummy, so we came back."

It was her fault. She didn't comfort the two children properly, and since she didn't come back, they must have been worried and unable to sleep.

She pulled one of them closer and earnestly said, "In the future, if Mummy can't come back because of something, you two should behave at home and not go out to find her. Mummy will find a way to help herself even if there's a problem. Mummy is an adult, not afraid. But you two are still young, you'll have to grow up a little more if you want to protect Mummy."

Emma felt dissatisfied in her heart. Mummy always thought she and Ethan were too young, but they were already capable of helping Mummy with many things.

Even though she felt dissatisfied, Emma wouldn't say it. She wanted to prove with her own abilities that she could protect Mummy.

The two little ones obediently nodded to show they understood, but they would probably repeat the same mistake in the future.

Sophia sighed inwardly. Although she knew the two children were clever and intelligent, quick to learn many things, and even able to go out alone, as a mother, she couldn't help but worry.

Early the next morning, Sophia received a message from Alex. He had already found out that it was negligence on the part of the person who locked the door. In a hurry to go home after work, they slacked off and didn't do the rounds.

Sophia couldn't say anything about it, especially since Gabriel had already carried out the punishment on that end.

All she could do was respond with a smile, letting the matter pass like that.

With the new product launch approaching, Sophia brought the sample garment she had dealt with yesterday to show Margaret.

Margaret was pleasantly surprised.

"I knew I didn't misjudge you." Her eyesight was indeed amazing. Sophia was definitely a dark horse in the industry.

"If there are no issues, I'll draw the design for this outfit today. After the new product launch, I can hand it over to the factory for production."

"Okay, by the way, the fabric has been delivered. Do you...still need it?" Margaret asked uncertainly.

"Not for now."

Since there was already a new design, the urgency for that old one diminished. But she still had to thank them.

"I'll treat you to lunch today. Shall we eat in the cafeteria or go out?"

Margaret smiled. "Consider this meal as something you owe me. We'll decide after you win the competition."

"Alright."

After chatting for a few more moments, Sophia bumped into Fiona when she came out.

"Humph, a flatterer," Fiona muttered under her breath as she passed by Sophia, then she walked off with her tail in the air.

Sophia: ...

So, Fiona was saying she was brown-nosing Margaret.

Looking at the others, one could see a slightly strange look in their eyes. Sophia paid no attention, letting others think whatever they wanted. After all, she had no intention of staying in Lancaster for long. Once she gained custody of Sam, she would leave the country and never come back.

Alex walked out of Gabriel's office holding something, only to meet Tiffany coming out of the elevator. When Tiffany saw what Alex was holding, a hint of disdain flashed across her face.

"Why are you carrying a first aid kit? Did you get injured?"

Alex remained composed, "No, it's for a friend of mine who got hurt. I'm delivering it to her."

"Oh, I see."

Alex left, and Tiffany took a few steps before slowing down. Her intuition told her that the bottle of first aid medicine was for Sophia. But Alex and Sophia... Alex came out of Gabriel's office, so clearly, it wasn't Alex's idea to deliver it to Sophia, but rather, Gabriel had asked him to!

Tiffany's heart tightened. Having to deal with Sam was already nauseating enough, and now there was Sophia too. It was simply too much.

Tiffany's thought grew stronger, and she adjusted her appearance before gracefully stepping into Gabriel's office.
