Chapter 332 Affordable House

Sophia had no choice but to follow the real estate agent upstairs, subconsciously observing the surrounding environment.

To be honest, she was very satisfied with it. The security facilities were better than Blue End; there was a lake nearby, and the surrounding greenery and various entertainment facilities were all done exceptionally well. Her three children would undoubtedly love it here if they saw the place.

If the price was right, Sophia could rent this place and it would be convenient for the children to come and play in the future. Sophia was already excited just by looking at the surroundings.

When they reached the floor, the agent opened the door. Upon seeing the interior space, Sophia became even more excited.

The house had one staircase and two units, with a large area, three bedrooms, two studies, and all kinds of furniture were provided.

"The landlord has replaced all the furniture with new ones. As long as you rent it, you can move in today," the agent said.

With such good conditions, the rent must be expensive.

Despite being very excited, Sophia still shook her head. "It's too big."

The agent frowned. "It's not too big. Don't you have children? Children need this much space."

Sophia replied, "The rent is too expensive."

The agent said, "Two thousand dollars a month, not expensive. Compared to the surrounding area, this is the most favorable price."

"Two thousand dollars?" Sophia was extremely surprised.

In this location, with such a good house, and only two thousand a month? Sophia didn't believe it at all. She even began to suspect that something bad had happened here to make it so cheap.

The agent, experienced as he was, immediately picked up on Sophia's thoughts and smiled as he explained, "This house has actually been vacant for a long time. The owner wanted to use it as a bridal chamber but was concerned that it had been unoccupied for too long, fearing it would affect the harmony of the newlyweds. So, they decided to rent it out cheaply for a year before moving in."

"Miss Kelly, you can rest assured. This house is very clean, and the landlord is very nice. It's just that wealthy people are more particular. If you want to rent it, you can only rent it for one year. If it weren't for this, such a good house wouldn't be only two thousand dollars a month."

Sophia was mostly convinced. Some newly wealthy individuals do tend to be cautious about everything. She didn't mind as long as the house had no safety hazards and no accidents had occurred.

Sophia was only planning to rent for a year anyway. She just needed to help Caroline through this rough patch, then she could start saving to buy a house again. Moreover, if Sophia regained custody of the children in half a year, she could take them back to M country.

Sophia looked around, contemplating in her mind.

The agent went outside to make a phone call and returned happily.

"Miss Kelly, I just called the landlord, and I managed to negotiate a discount for you. The landlord is willing to waive your deposit and all other expenses for this year."

This was amazing. Sophia found it unbelievable.

However, wealthy people renting out just for fun naturally wouldn't care about such a small amount of money. After some consideration, Sophia decided to rent the place.

The agent quickly took her back to the office to sign the contract.

At noon, Sophia hurriedly went to the restaurant for the appointment.

Colin was already waiting in the private room.

"Sorry, Colin. I was delayed this morning."

"It's okay. My parents haven't arrived yet. Please sit down first," Colin said.

"Okay," Sophia replied.

Colin had called Sophia last night, saying that his parents wanted to have lunch with her today at noon. Since Sophia was eager to get into Fusion Dynamics Corporation, she didn’t want to decline the invitation.

The national fashion competition had ended, and Sophia regretted not winning first place, but even third place garnered a lot of attention. Her name had even appeared on various industry forums lately. Even the sales of the clothes she designed for Flora had doubled.

This competition would add a significant highlight to Sophia's resume.

If Sophia could secure a position at Fusion Dynamics Corporation, it would be a major milestone in her career.

Colin thought that since David was also in City B this time, he could take the opportunity to talk to Jennifer about officially recognizing Sophia as a goddaughter.

Colin and Sophia chatted while each thinking about their own matters.

Meanwhile, Jennifer had dressed up for a long time, delaying arriving a bit later so that Sophia and Colin could bond a bit more.

David frowned as he looked at the time. He was a punctual person and had agreed to meet at the restaurant at twelve, but today, Jennifer seemed to be in no hurry.

"Are you ready?" he asked.

"Just a moment," Jennifer replied.

Ten minutes later, Jennifer appeared in an elegant yet luxurious dress with delicate and subtle makeup, her hair tied up, and she looked like a young girl in her twenties, which left David stunned.

Jennifer tapped David's hand. "What are you staring at? Let's go."

"How do I look today?" Jennifer asked with a smile.

"Very beautiful," David replied.

Jennifer glared at him. "So I'm not beautiful usually?"

David quickly responded, "You're always beautiful."

The long-married couple bantered with each other as they headed downstairs.

In the restaurant, Colin felt awkward.

"Maybe there was traffic on the way. My parents are usually very punctual."

Sophia reassured him, "It's okay; I don't have anything urgent anyway."

She was just a bit hungry. Her stomach growled from time to time, making Sophia feel embarrassed.

Finally, the door opened, and Jennifer appeared with David, arm in arm.

Jennifer smiled. "Sorry, Sophia. We got stuck in traffic on the way."

"It's okay. Auntie Johnson, Uncle Blackwood, please have a seat."

After ordering their food, David observed Sophia.

He found her quite familiar, perhaps because she resembled her mother when she was young.

Sophia felt a bit embarrassed under David's gaze and lowered her head slightly.

Jennifer nudged her husband gently, reminding him.

David quickly averted his gaze, cleared his throat, and said, "I heard from Jennifer that you just won third place in the national fashion competition."

"Yes," Sophia replied obediently.

She sat next to Colin, and Jennifer looked at them, feeling that they seemed very compatible. She couldn't help but ask, "The new house is being renovated. Has Colin taken you to see it?"

"What?" Sophia was puzzled. Why would Colin show her their new house? Did they want her opinion on the renovation?

Jennifer could tell from Sophia's reaction that Colin hadn't taken her there.

Jennifer immediately glared at Colin unhappily. "Although the renovation style has been decided, you should still take Sophia to see it. In case she doesn't like it, changes can be made in time."

This statement confused Sophia and Colin.

The house was bought out of necessity. Why would it matter if Sophia liked it or not?

Sophia quickly said, "No need. That's Colin's bridal chamber. He should seek the opinion of his fiancée." Instead of modifying it based on whether Sophia liked it or not.

"Exactly. So, I asked Colin to seek your opinion." Jennifer winked.
