The box opened. There were all the expensive jewelry Gummidge had kept.
These pieces were all gifts from Aragorn back in the day. She only wore them when accompanying Aragorn to events; otherwise, she never wore them.
There were even many pieces in the box that she had never worn even once.

Gummidge counted them and then took the box to Ashley.
"Let Paul give this to Nicholas tomorrow."
"What is it?" Ashley asked casually.

"Caroline, this is from Gummidge," Paul said, opening the box in front of everyone.

Nicholas nodded slightly, "Take them."
Caroline thought for a moment and finally accepted the jewelry as Nicholas suggested.

"No, we're in separate rooms."

"Mom, do we have any hangover soup?"
Ashley quickly got up, "Yes."
"Paul!" Joseph called out, holding back his emotions.
Paul stopped.
"What is it?"
Every time Paul spoke, Joseph would get angry.
"I'm your father!"
"Oh," Paul responded nonchalantly, and Joseph was so angry that his chest hurt.
He took a couple of deep breaths.
Ashley went into the kitchen to get Paul some hangover soup.
Gummidge sat across from Joseph, who showed a sad expression.
"Gummidge, I'm sorry I didn't come back in time for Aragorn's funeral. I had an emergency and couldn't make it."
Gummidge said nothing.
Joseph frowned slightly. He didn't like the Watson family, including the timid Gummidge.
He didn't come back this time because he missed Aragorn's funeral but because of Ashley and Paul.
Since Gummidge didn't speak, he didn't bother with pleasantries.
"Ashley, you've been in the country with Paul for quite a while. This time, come back with me," Joseph said, lowering his tone to coax Ashley.
Ashley snorted coldly.
"Why should I go back? To watch you promote that illegitimate child to a high position?"
Joseph clenched his fists, holding back his displeasure.
"Paul is not young anymore. He should start training in the company. Otherwise, how can he take over the company in the future?"
Ashley was silent.
Joseph was right about this. Paul was always fooling around, and if this continued, the company would definitely be taken by Joseph's illegitimate son, Preston.
She didn't want Joseph's mistress and illegitimate child to reap the benefits without effort.
Seeing Ashley's silence, Joseph knew he had succeeded.
"I've booked tickets for tomorrow. Pack your things today."
"So soon!"

"I'm not going back."

"You want me to go back to Country Y just to arrange a marriage for me."
He hit the nail on the head.
"The company is in trouble, and you need my marriage to save it."
"Why don't you let your beloved illegitimate son get married?"
"Oh right, the girl doesn't like your illegitimate son, Preston."
Paul's tone was full of sarcasm.
"Because Preston is just an illegitimate child."
Joseph furiously raised his hand to slap him.
Paul quickly dodged.
The next moment, Ashley slapped Joseph across the face.
