Chapter 700 Surgery

Colin was very distressed.

David said seriously, "It's indeed time to get married."

Colin was about to get up and run away when Jennifer quickly sat down and held him in place.

"Colin, be honest with me, do you like men?"

Colin almost choked on his own saliva and said helplessly, "Mom, I'm straight."

"Then why don't you have any women around you?"

Colin replied, "How would I know that? I also want to ask them why they don't like me."

Jennifer patted his shoulder, "Don't pretend you don't understand."

Colin complained in his heart, 'Why does a famous child psychologist like me have to be pressured to get married?'

Celeste asked, "Are you still thinking about her?"

As soon as she said this, everyone's expressions changed.

Celeste sighed and was about to say a few words when Jennifer quickly changed the subject, "Mom, didn't you say you found a gemstone that you think would be perfect for Sophie? Show it to me."

Celeste pursed her lips and, seeing Colin's silent demeanor, followed Jennifer's words.

Charles was recovering day by day. Nicholas had arranged the best doctors for Charles's child and, after much effort, finally found a suitable heart donor.

Today was the day for Trevor's heart transplant surgery.

Charles waited nervously at the door of the operating room, saying nothing, his lips faintly pale.

Sharpe gently patted his shoulder and said, "Don't worry too much. The doctor Mr. Watson is one of the best doctors in the world. The surgery will definitely be successful."

Charles nodded lightly.

He trusted Nicholas, but he was still worried.

About an hour's surgery, Caroline and Nicholas arrived, while Paul followed behind.

Seeing Nicholas, Charles felt very grateful.

"Mr. Watson."

Nicholas raised his hand slightly, and Charles swallowed his words.

"No need to say more. Let's wait until Trevor's surgery is completed."

"Okay." Charles still felt guilty, towards Nicholas and Trevor.

If he hadn't been impulsive back then, he wouldn't have caused so much trouble for Nicholas, and Trevor wouldn't have been born to suffer.

He felt like a sinner.

Charles hung his head. He looked so desolate that it was hard to watch him.

In Nicholas's eyes, Charles was his savior. Although Charles had indeed made a mistake, considering the favor, he wouldn't blame Charles.

The person Charles owed the most now was Trevor.

The surgery lasted for eight hours, from afternoon to evening. Nicholas didn't wait there the whole time. He stayed for half an hour, leaving Sharpe and Paul behind, and then went back to the company with Caroline.

Caroline didn't have classes today and wanted to see Trevor, so she came to the hospital with Nicholas.

She was also a mother and couldn't bear to see little Trevor suffer.

Daisy was simply a sinner!

Since Charles took Trevor away, Daisy hadn't come to see him even once.

Someone like Daisy didn't deserve to be a mother!

Nicholas found Caroline's angry look very cute.

"Who made you angry?" he asked gently.

Caroline replied, "Daisy."

Nicholas's face immediately turned cold, "What did she do this time?"

Caroline said, "She didn't do anything new. I just think she doesn't deserve to be a mother."

Nicholas held her hand, "Don't get angry over strangers."

"Okay."

Nicholas insisted on doing rehab every day. Simon came to treat him periodically and also checked Caroline's pulse to regulate her body.

Caroline wanted Simon to check on Lisa as well.

Lisa was still taking medication and getting chemotherapy, but recently Caroline noticed that Lisa wasn't in as good spirits as before. Lisa often stayed in her room alone and didn't come out unless necessary.

After hearing her request, Simon agreed to check on Lisa after Caroline promised to continue teaching him to play the violin.

The appointment was set for tomorrow morning.

In the hospital, Sharpe and Paul were dozing off in their chairs, while Charles kept staring at the operating room. He nervously put his hands on his legs and his sweat had soaked that part of his pants. His eyes were also red.

The light of the operating room went out, and Charles's heart immediately tightened. He stood up abruptly, but he quickly fell back into his chair in a daze.

Paul and Sharpe woke up hearing the commotion.

"What's wrong? Is the surgery over?"

Charles's face was pale.

Sharpe quickly checked on him, "Are you okay?"

Charles replied, "I'm fine."

His body hadn't fully recovered yet and was still somewhat weak.

The doctor came out.

Paul said, "You take care of Charles, I'll go ask."

"Okay."

Paul walked up and grabbed the doctor's hand excitedly.

"Doctor, how is the child?"

The doctor tried to pull his hand back, but Paul held on tightly. He was also quite concerned about Trevor. Paul had been taking care of him for a few days and he had some feelings for him.

"Let go of me first," the doctor's voice sounded familiar.

Paul looked down and saw a pair of delicate hands in his grip. He quickly let go.

Christina awkwardly took a step back to avoid Paul grabbing her hand again in his excitement.

She took off her mask and looked at Paul seriously.

She said, "Don't worry. The child's surgery was very successful. The lead surgeon is still inside finishing up and asked me to come out and inform the family. The child will be sent to the ICU for observation for a couple of days. If there are no severe rejection reactions, he can be moved to a regular ward."

Paul breathed a sigh of relief, "Thank you, doctor."

He thought the doctor looked familiar, as he had seen her somewhere before.

She had beautiful eyes, a small nose, and rosy lips. She was the resident doctor who admitted Trevor to the hospital that day.

Paul scrutinized Christina.

Christina frowned slightly. This man was staring at her directly, how rude!

"Sir, in about ten minutes, you can see your child."

Paul replied, "Okay."

Christina pointed in a direction, "If you walk that way, you'll reach the ICU."

With that, she turned and went back into the operating room.

Paul realized belatedly, "That's not my child."

He wondered if the pretty doctor had heard him.

It didn't matter whether she misunderstood him or not.

Charles had recovered, and Paul came over to tell him the situation. Then they went together to the ICU.

Trevor had already been sent there, and the lead surgeon came over to give them some instructions and confirm the follow-up treatment plan.

Christina stood by, listening and learning.

This was a top doctor invited by Nicholas, and she was fortunate enough to observe and learn from this surgery. She really learned a lot.

She was originally Trevor's resident doctor, but later Trevor was taken over by more skilled doctors, and then this top doctor from abroad came to perform the surgery.

It seemed that Trevor's father did care about him.

Although he didn't often come to the hospital to see Trevor or take care of him, he had the money to hire a top medical team to treat Trevor.

Christina looked at Paul with a bit of relief in her eyes.
