Chapter 477 A Bit Strange
Sophia was talking when Gabriel suddenly reached over, tucking a stray hair behind her ear.
She was taken aback by his intimate gesture.
Gabriel chuckled, a sound that went straight to her heart.
"I remember everything you said," he said, his voice husky.
His warm fingers brushed her earlobe, making her ears burn. Sophia looked down, unsure of what to say.
It felt strange. She thought she hadn't forgiven Gabriel, but his touch didn't bother her.
Just then, the waiter started serving the dishes, breaking the tension.
Sophia focused on her meal.
In the afternoon, she checked on the progress of the Blackwood family's ancestral home. They were returning earlier than expected, but the house wasn't ready.
Luckily, Colin had bought a renovated house, so the Blackwoods could stay there temporarily.
Besides her own work, Sophia was also helping the Blackwoods with these details.
The Brown family was busy too. Logan hadn't mentioned Sophia going abroad again, and the Blackwoods' early return caught them off guard.
Logan and Ella wanted to make a good impression, especially since Patricia, the Blackwood heiress, was raised by the Browns. The two families were closely tied.
Logan and Ella almost saw the Blackwoods as family.
Worried the Blackwoods might not have a place to stay, they prepared spare rooms at the Brown home.
In the evening, Ella called Patricia.
Patricia said sarcastically, "Don't bother. We have a place to stay."
"Where?" Ella asked.
"Colin bought a house in City B. It's ready, and Jennifer and David's daughter is managing it. We'll move in directly," Patricia replied.
Ella felt her efforts were wasted. She had gone to great lengths to prepare, even replacing beds and adding new things, spending a lot of money and effort.
"Why didn't you say so earlier? I wouldn't have bothered," Ella muttered.
Patricia was also annoyed. "I just found out. I told Celeste we could stay at the Brown Villa, but Jennifer and David disagreed."
She felt that since she was part of both families, they should be united. But the Blackwoods didn't want to stay at the Brown Villa, making Patricia feel they didn't value the Browns.
Ella sighed, "Forget it. Patricia, you should come home."
"Mom, I won't be staying at the Brown Villa anymore," Patricia said.
"Why not?" Ella asked.
"I'm the Blackwood heiress. Now that they're back, I should stay with them."
Ella understood but felt sad.
"Mom, we have to look at the bigger picture," Patricia added.
Hearing Patricia, Ella realized she had grown up.
Before becoming the Blackwood heiress, Patricia was willful and domineering, and Ella had to worry about everything for her.
But after spending time abroad with the Blackwoods, Patricia had developed her own thoughts and plans.
Now, Patricia could even advise Ella.
Daniel brought Clayton back to the country, and Clayton immediately went to find Daisy.
Seeing Daisy, who had always been so kind to him, now with a big belly, a round face, and dull eyes, Clayton felt a pang of heartache.
"Daisy, what happened to you?"
Daisy didn't dare to go out now.
After three months, her belly grew quickly, and as her weight increased, her face also became chubby.
Looking like this, Daisy would definitely be ridiculed by those socialites if she went out.
Daisy gently patted Clayton's head. "This is normal, don't worry. I'll get back to normal after the baby is born."
Daisy always loved showing off her good looks. Her closet was filled with beautiful and expensive clothes, and she had all kinds of skincare and makeup products. She never went out without makeup.
Now, because of her pregnancy, she had become like this.
Clayton thought Daisy must be suffering at The Watson Mansion.
"Where's Nicholas?" Clayton asked.
"Nicholas is busy with work," Daisy said quietly, her tone low.
This immediately made Clayton think of something.
"Is Nicholas with Caroline?" he asked.
Daisy didn't speak, but her sad and restrained expression said it all.
Clayton immediately stood up in anger. "I'm going to find them."
With that, Clayton rushed out like a cannonball, and Daisy didn't have time to stop him.
Clayton somehow found out that Caroline was an instructor at the music academy, and he drove his sports car there.
Caroline was carrying her violin, ready to go to class, when Clayton suddenly blocked her way.
"Caroline, have you no shame?" Clayton angrily said.
Caroline's face darkened. "Why are you so rude?"
Clayton didn't expect Caroline to be unafraid and even boldly insult him back.
Remembering how she had helped him with his injury in Country Y, Clayton felt a bit regretful for scolding her just now.
But then Clayton thought, that matter was already settled.
So, Clayton angrily said again, "Daisy is pregnant, with such a big belly, and you still dare to take Nicholas away. You, you..."
Besides calling Caroline shameless, Clayton couldn't think of any other words. After a long pause, he could only say, "You're despicable."
Caroline didn't want to waste time with Clayton. She tried to walk around him, but Clayton grabbed her wrist. "Don't go. I'm going to let the whole school know that you ruined someone else's marriage."
Caroline retorted fiercely, "If you dare to announce it to the whole school, I'll sue you for defamation!"
"If you sue me for defamation, I'll make sure you can't stay in City B."
Caroline fell silent.
Clayton thought he had finally intimidated Caroline and was feeling smug.
Suddenly, Caroline shouted, "Help! Sexual harassment!"
Clayton's face changed dramatically. "You... Who's sexually harassing you? Don't slander me."
Caroline raised the hand he was holding and continued to shout, "Sexual harassment! Everyone, catch this pervert!"
The university campus was full of young people with a strong sense of justice. Hearing Caroline's cries for help, all the male students around rushed over and quickly subdued Clayton.
