Chapter 409 Words Became Reality
The whole Watson family was there, even including Michael and Mia.
Daisy sat between her parents, head down, hand resting on her belly.
The Watsons were over the moon.
Mia had already taken Daisy to the hospital for a check-up, and yep, Daisy was pregnant.
She was in good health.
Finally, there was some noise at the door. Charles pushed Nicholas in, with Sharpe following behind.
The room's joy was shattered by Nicholas's icy presence, like a cold wind making everyone shiver.
Aragorn's smile froze.
Nicholas' aggressive return made it seem like he was there to kill someone.
"What kind of attitude is this? Do I no longer have the right to call you home?" Aragorn shouted.
Nicholas looked around and asked, "Where's the child?"
"The child is still in the belly," Gummidge said with a smile as she walked over to push the wheelchair, and Charles stepped aside.
"What belly?" Nicholas frowned.
"Daisy is pregnant. It's your child, Nicholas. You're going to be a father again," Gummidge said happily.
Gummidge had married into the Watson family and had only given Nicholas one son, never getting pregnant again.
She hoped Nicholas could have more children to make the Watson family livelier.
Nicholas was silent.
The words he had once said had become a reality!
He was a bit stunned.
To others, Nicholas' reaction seemed like he was overwhelmed with joy.
Daisy was particularly excited. She wanted to throw herself into Nicholas' arms and let him feel her belly, to sense the presence of the child.
She stood up and started to walk over.
At that moment, Nicholas suddenly sneered, "Just because you're pregnant, you say it's my child? Do you think I am a fool?"
Nicholas' sarcastic remark made Daisy's face turn pale.
She thought, 'Is he not acknowledging what he did that night?'
"Bastard!" Aragorn grabbed a cup from the table and threw it at Nicholas.
"Watch out!" Sharpe rushed forward quickly, but it was too late. The cup hit Nicholas' shoulder hard and then fell to the ground, shattering into pieces.
Everyone was stunned by this scene.
Sharpe glanced at Charles.
'Charles is usually very agile; what's wrong with him today?'
Pain spread from his shoulder, and Nicholas lowered his head slightly.
Aragorn cursed angrily, "You scoundrel! Daisy is your rightful wife. We all see her loyalty to you. Are you insulting her or the Watson family's future generation in her belly?"
"I warn you, even if you don't like Daisy, you must stay with her and have this child!" Aragorn was so angry that his chest heaved, and Gummidge quickly patted his back to calm him down.
Daisy was hurt by Nicholas' words and fell back onto the sofa, her heart aching.
She remembered that Nicholas wasn't this cold and heartless. When she was little and got hurt, he would gently treat her wounds.
She thought, 'When did Nicholas change?'
'Oh, right, it was after Nicholas met Caroline. He never looked at me the same way again.'
That pain turned into hatred for Daisy, all directed at Caroline.
The more pain she felt now, the more she hated Caroline.
'If Caroline hadn't clung to Nicholas back then, I wouldn't have lost his heart, and I wouldn't have to go to such lengths to keep my position as Nicholas' wife.'
Daisy lowered her head, her shoulders trembling. To everyone else, it looked like she was crying in sadness.
Michael snapped, "If Nicholas doesn't want this kid, we'll get an abortion tomorrow. No way Daisy's getting bullied in this family."
Mia chimed in, "Exactly! Daisy's been through enough, especially during the wedding. Now she's getting rejected while pregnant?"
Aragorn smiled apologetically. "Don't worry. Nicholas is still immature. I'll straighten him out. The child in Daisy's belly is a member of the Watson family and must be born."
"From now on, Daisy will have the final say in the Watson family."
These words pleased Michael and Mia.
They both showed barely satisfied expressions.
Since Josie wasn't there, Nicholas didn't bother to say more. No matter what he said, his father would insist on Daisy having the child.
So, let her have it.
Nicholas wouldn't acknowledge the wedding or the child.
He wouldn't let anyone force something he didn't do onto him.
Seeing Nicholas about to leave, Aragorn gave Gummidge a look.
Gummidge walked up to see Nicholas off.
"Nicholas, listen to me, okay? Bring Josie home. No matter what, Josie is also a member of the Watson family. As for Caroline, if she wants to see Josie in the future, let her."
Gummidge said a lot, sending Nicholas to the car. She asked with some concern, "Have you not been eating regularly? You've lost weight."
Nicholas, who had been silent, responded to this, "I've been busy."
"No matter how busy you are, you need to take care of yourself."
"Okay, Charles, drive!"
As the car drove away, Gummidge sighed in place.
Back at the company, Nicholas instructed Sharpe, "Look into any men Daisy has been in contact with."
"Got it!"
Charles took out a first aid kit to treat the bruise on Nicholas' shoulder.
Nicholas gave Charles a deep look, his thin lips pressed together.
Tiffany drove towards the maximum-security prison.
Halfway there, an unknown number called.
"Hello."
"Hello, Ms. Foster." The voice on the other end was using a voice changer!
Tiffany pulled over to the side of the road, nervously asking, "Who are you?"
"Never mind who I am. Are you on your way to see Raskolnikov?"
The other person knew her destination! Who could it be?
"What do you want?" Tiffany asked coldly.
"I want to help you."
"Why should I believe you?"
"Do you believe Gabriel is watching you? If you go to see Raskolnikov, he'll catch you."
"Gabriel wouldn't. He wouldn't suspect me!" Tiffany denied loudly.
"Then go see Raskolnikov. When Gabriel catches you, it'll be too late to regret it."
Tiffany breathed heavily, gripping her phone tightly.
"What do you want?"
"Raskolnikov probably can't hold out much longer. He'll soon confess everything." The other person didn't answer directly, but this simple statement made Tiffany panic.
Her voice trembled, asking, "What do you want?"
"Don't worry, and what I want is simple. You can do it without harming your interests. Once you're clear of suspicion, I'll tell you what to do."
Ten minutes later, Tiffany hung up, her hands still shaking.
After taking a few deep breaths to calm herself, Tiffany restarted the engine and turned back.
