Chapter 348 The Wolf family

Sophia felt very conflicted inside; she couldn't see Gabriel's heart completely. She could sense Gabriel's changes. Since her depression relapsed, his changes were particularly significant. Gabriel seemed to be accommodating her in every way, going along with her. When it came to the children, Gabriel also kept stepping back, of course, except for the children's custody. Even when it involved Tiffany, he seemed to be indifferent.

What did Gabriel really want?

Sophia couldn't bring herself to believe, nor could she trust, that Gabriel had suddenly realized his mistakes and developed feelings for her.

On the way, Sophia remained silent, and Gabriel didn't speak after expressing his thoughts. The car was unusually quiet, and Alex wanted to play some music.

After Sophia left, Tiffany couldn't bear it and pressed the emergency button. After a check-up, her originally fractured leg became more serious, directly cast, and she had to rest for a while longer.

Tiffany was so angry that her face hurt, and she was almost exploding with anger.

At the peak of her anger, she calmed down instead. Now she was alone and couldn't act recklessly as before. Especially now that Gabriel was helping Sophia everywhere, she couldn't act rashly anymore. She could only wait for an opportunity now.

Randall had committed too many offenses, and this time, Gabriel personally took action. No one dared to help him, and with conclusive evidence, Randall couldn't escape.

When Sophia returned home, she found that things were a bit different.

Originally, the TV was already large, but now it had been replaced with an even bigger one. The children were watching cartoons. As Sophia went to the kitchen to cook, she noticed there was now a dishwasher, a double refrigerator, and smart appliances like ovens, air fryers, and more.

Sophia instantly thought of Gabriel. 'Did he arrange for all these changes?' That complex feeling surged up again.

When Sophia went to the bathroom, she found a new massage bathtub there.

Sam ran over and pulled Sophia.

"Sam, where are you taking me?" She asked.

Sam pulled Sophia upstairs to the innermost room on the second floor and opened the door.

Sophia added, "Is this Sam's art studio?"

Looking at the paintings on the walls painted by Sam and the three easels inside, Sam seemed quite happy, gesturing, "This will be the art studio for me, Ethan, and Emma in the future."

"Did your dad make all these?" Sophia asked.

Sam nodded.

Sophia continued, "Can I come to your art studio to paint in the future?"

Sam nodded vigorously. Of course, Sophia could enter, and Gabriel could too. Only the five of them could enter, and no one else was allowed. Sam had already designated a place in his mind where he and Ethan, Emma, Sophia, and Gabriel belonged.

In his world, Ethan and Emma had already entered, and now he was considering opening it up to Sophia and Gabriel.

Sophia hugged Sam and kissed him. "Sam, you're amazing, a little genius artist."

Two blushes appeared on Sam's milky face.

In the adjacent room, Emma also had a dedicated live broadcast room, which Gabriel had specially decorated according to the girls' preferences, turning it into a princess-themed room with the latest live broadcasting equipment.

Ethan also received a high-end computer. When he saw the computer, Ethan fell in love with it, but because it was a gift from Gabriel, he arrogantly ignored it and pretended not to like it.

When it came to loving the children, Sophia didn't deny Gabriel.

Today, Caroline didn't need to teach Josie, and Lisa was still in the ICU, so Caroline came home. Seeing Sophia preparing dinner in the kitchen, Caroline came in to help.

"Sophia, I managed to borrow some money." Caroline's expression was much more relaxed than before.

"That's great; who was the kind person?" Sophia paused her chopping.

"It's Nicholas's cousin," Caroline replied.

Sophia was silent for a moment.

It had been a long time since she had a heart-to-heart talk with Caroline.

"About you and Nicholas..." Sophia said.

"We haven't reconciled, Sophia, we can't reconcile." Caroline knew what Sophia was going to say and quickly explained, "Paul helped me find a philanthropist who was willing to lend me money."

"I've returned all the money you gave me to your account, Sophia. Go buy back the house; that's where you and the children belong," Caroline added.

Earlier that morning, Paul had suddenly mentioned that he'd found a philanthropist for Caroline. Upon hearing about her being an orphan and how she'd spent everything trying to treat her non-blood-related mother, the philanthropist was deeply moved. They donated the special medication to Lisa and provided Caroline with a significant amount for treatment costs.

However, Caroline had agreed with Paul that she wouldn't forget this money; she considered it a loan and would repay it with interest once she earned it back.

"Are you sure it's enough?" Sophia asked, concerned.

"It's enough," Caroline replied.

Caroline seemed much lighter than before, indicating that her financial situation had indeed improved.

Sophia also inquired about Lisa's condition. Caroline said, "Today, the doctor told me that the professor will be back in the country for two days next week, and the professor has agreed to come back and perform surgery on Lisa."

Finally, there was no longer a sense of hopeless despair. Caroline saw a glimmer of hope. Lisa also welcomed the arrival of hope.

Sophia was relieved, but she didn't plan to buy back the house. The current situation seemed fine; she could meet the children every day, have dinner with them, and put them to bed.

If she bought the house back, she would be separated from the children again. Moreover, Sophia had other places where she needed to spend money.

Caroline lowered her head to wash the ingredients, and her smile gradually faded. She could sense many flaws in Paul's words. There was not really a philanthropist; it must have been something that Paul had made up.

Paul must have obtained this money from Nicholas. She didn't want to accept it, but Caroline didn't want to burden Sophia either. This time, she could only set aside her pride and accept all these arrangements.

The Watson family was lively today. Daisy's family visited the Watson family. The two families sat together, chatting and laughing.

"Why hasn't Nicholas come back yet?" Daisy's father, Michael Wolf, checked the time. Dinner was about to be served, but Nicholas hadn't returned home yet.

"Dad, Nicholas is very busy with work. It's normal for him to come back late," Daisy explained hastily, fearing that Michael would blame Nicholas for disrespecting them.

Aragorn chimed in, "Nicholas has indeed been very busy lately. Let's eat without waiting for him."

Michael was a bit unhappy.

"Dad, Uncle hasn't arrived yet either," Daisy asked.

As soon as Daniel Wolf was mentioned, he arrived.

There was a commotion at the door, and Aragorn got up to greet him personally.

No one noticed that Michael's expression had turned very unpleasant. When Michael arrived, Aragorn didn't personally greet him, saying it was because he wasn't feeling well. As soon as Daniel arrived, Aragorn seemed to recover miraculously.

Daniel exchanged pleasantries with Aragorn, and his wife, Linda Wolf, came with Daniel.

Afterward, everyone sat down to eat.
