Chapter 378 The Wedding

"Ms. Clark." Josie was delighted to see Caroline there.

Last night, she had a dream where Caroline and Nicholas were together, and Caroline became her mom.

She was so happy because she wouldn't be a child without a mom.

"Josie." Caroline held Josie's hand, gently touched her arm, and observed her closely, feeling relieved.

Ever since Emma told her that Daisy had pinched Josie, Caroline would always check on Josie whenever she saw her.

"Mommy, Josie is here," Emma called out to Sophia.

Sophia walked over.

"Hello, Aunt Sophia," Josie greeted sweetly.

Sophia looked at Josie and instantly liked this well-behaved and adorable little girl. She hugged Josie.

"Josie is such a good girl. Play nicely with Emma, and I'll make you some delicious food."

"Thank you, Aunt Sophia."

Sophia went into the kitchen, and Caroline took the opportunity to check on Emma and Josie's violin practice.

Josie was talented and learned quickly; she played better than Emma. Emma had been slacking off and didn't practice well, so she played a complicated piece poorly, and Caroline gave her a stern look.

"Why have you been slacking off?"

Emma playfully stuck out her tongue.

At that moment, Sophia came out with snacks and fruit.

"Mommy, let's play a parent-child game."

It was a rare holiday, and Sophia wanted to spend time with the kids, especially since Emma's friend was visiting.

Emma started assigning teams. "I'll be with my mommy; Josie will be with Ms. Clark. Just think of Ms. Clark as your mommy. Ethan and Sam will be a team."

Ethan said, "I don't want to play."

Sam also shook his head, indicating he didn't want to play.

"Alright then." Emma brought out a pile of LEGO bricks. "Let's see who can build the fastest and best. The winner gets a prize."

Caroline held Josie's hand. "We can definitely win."

Emma pouted. "I'm the best at building LEGO."

Ethan and Sam acted as judges.

The competition began.

A few minutes later, Emma shouted, "Mommy, you built it wrong."

Josie covered her mouth and giggled.

"Josie, this piece goes here." Caroline gently guided Josie. Although it was Josie's first time playing, Caroline was an expert. With her guidance, Josie was very enthusiastic about building.

Emma was a pro, but Sophia was a novice.

Both teams ended up having similar overall skills.

Emma even came over to Josie's side to cause trouble. She hid two crucial pieces from them. Caroline noticed Emma's sneaky move and secretly encouraged Josie to do the same.

Josie quietly took two pieces back, her heart pounding.

"Josie, you're amazing."

Josie blushed, feeling very happy.

Emma whispered into Sophia's ear, "Mommy, have you noticed that Josie looks a lot like Godmother?"

Sophia hadn't thought much of it, but when she looked over out of curiosity, she was suddenly taken aback.

Caroline and Josie were in the same position, sitting cross-legged with their heads slightly lowered. When they were building, their pinkies were both slightly raised, and they both had a thin layer of sweat on their foreheads.

From this angle, Josie's facial features were almost similar to Caroline's.

They looked like a real mother and daughter.

"Mommy, stop daydreaming." Emma nudged Sophia.

Sophia shook off her reverie and returned to her senses, quickly helping Emma with the LEGO.

Because Sophia was more of a hindrance than a help, Emma ended up losing.

"Alright, I declare Josie and her mommy the winners."

Josie jumped in excitement. Caroline picked her up, spun her around twice, and kissed her.

Josie was stunned. Her own mother had never kissed her, but Caroline did.

Josie cupped Caroline's face with her small hands and kissed her on the cheek.

Caroline's eyes sparkled with joy.

Seeing that it was getting late, Sophia went into the kitchen to make lunch, and Caroline went in to help.

After lunch, the four kids went to take a nap. Sophia and Caroline watched TV in the living room, both lying on the couch without much decorum.

Sophia nudged Caroline with her foot.

"Do you know when Josie's birthday is?"

"I haven't paid attention. Why?" Caroline glanced at her.

"Nothing. I just like the kid and want to give her a gift for her birthday."

Sophia wasn't sure if her suspicions were correct. Just looking alike wasn't very convincing.

Sophia silently watched TV. Caroline was too involved to notice anything, but as an outsider, Sophia could see things more clearly.

She felt that Caroline and Nicholas had many misunderstandings.

She wanted to help Caroline. Whether the misunderstandings were real or not, she wanted to help Caroline move on and let go of the past.

Otherwise, Caroline wouldn't be happy.

In the afternoon, Sharpe came to pick up Josie, and Caroline left for the hospital after Josie left.

Lisa would be discharged tomorrow, so Caroline went to talk to the doctor. When she came out, she was texting Ben on her phone.

At that moment, a trending news notification popped up.

Caroline intended to dismiss it, but she saw Nicholas and, out of curiosity, clicked on it.

As she read the news, Caroline's face turned pale.

She leaned against the wall, clutching her chest.

'Why does it still hurt?'

"Emma, come look," Ethan called Emma over.

"Uncle Nicholas is getting married?" Emma read the news. "Uncle Nicholas is actually marrying Josie's fake mommy!"

Emma thought, 'Didn't Josie say Nicholas and her fake mommy were breaking up?'

'Why are they getting married?'

Ethan also became serious. "Josie must have gotten it wrong."

Emma was worried. "If Uncle Nicholas marries that bad woman, will she stop Josie from seeing Godmother? Josie won't be able to change mommy."

She was very anxious.

Ethan pondered and suggested, "We need to help Godmother get Josie back."

Now that Josie had accepted Caroline, they couldn't let Daisy ruin it.

Today, the Watson Group officially announced that a week later, its president, Nicholas, would marry Daisy, the daughter of Wolf Group.

The media said this wedding was six years overdue.Daisy had Nicholas were supposed to get married before their child was born, but the Watson family had a crisis. The Watson Group faced numerous negative reports due to severe side effects from a drug they developed, leading to a financial crisis. The Watson Group's chairman, Aragorn, also fell seriously ill.

Before the crisis was resolved, Nicholas, the heir of the Watson Group, had a severe car accident.

All these events caused the wedding to be postponed repeatedly.

Now, the two lovers already had a child, and the Watson family would hold a grand wedding to make it up to Daisy.

Netizens sent their blessings.

Sophia finished her bath and returned to her room, seeing the three kids looking at her expectantly.

"What's up?" Sophia asked as she dried her hair and sat down.

"Mommy, we did something serious," Emma said, blinking her big eyes.

"What is it?"

'Could it be that Emma and Sam got into trouble again?' Sophia thought.

"Mommy, look at this." Ethan took out two paternity test reports.

Sophia's face turned serious. "Whose paternity tests are these?"

"This one is for Josie and her current mommy, and this one is for Josie and Godmother," Ethan said.
