Chapter 80 The Feud Between Two Best Friends
Initially, she was just venting to Tiffany about how Sophia deliberately caused trouble.
Tiffany revealed that Sophia used connections to get in, which she despised as she detested people who relied on connections.
Later on, Tiffany mentioned that she had a disagreement with Sophia, leading her to think that even if she argued with Sophia, Tiffany would surely take her side...
Every single incident now seemed like plans orchestrated by Tiffany.
Fiona was truly clueless.
That day, she confronted Tiffany and questioned her if she used her to deal with Sophia.
With an innocent and pure face, Tiffany looked at her, saying, "Why would you think that? I have always protected you, and yet you think of me like this!"
Her accusation made Fiona feel uneasy.
"Aren't you planning to kick me out of Lancaster after I help you get rid of Sophia?"
Tiffany's face showed disappointment. "I always treated you as my best friend, but you...you have truly disappointed me."
She appeared heartbroken, lowering her head.
In her heart, she cursed Fiona as a fool, surely being influenced by Sophia.
Fiona was perplexed.
Impulsively, she blurted out her true thoughts.
"You knew I liked Mr. Lancaster, and yet you became my best friend. You must have had ulterior motives, wanting to harm me."
Having watched too many melodramas, Fiona felt Tiffany was becoming increasingly terrifying.
Tiffany gently shook her head, her voice filled with sorrow. "I know your feelings for Mr. Lancaster were merely admiration, and I am already Mr. Lancaster's fiancée. He loves me so much, so why would I be jealous and harm you? I simply appreciated your talent and wanted to be friends with you. I never expected you to think this way about me. I guess I misjudged you."
After Tiffany finished speaking with deep sorrow, she turned and walked away.
Suddenly, Fiona felt panicked.
Did she misunderstand Tiffany?
Watching Tiffany leave, her heart grew even more chaotic.
What would she do if Tiffany ignored her after today?
Because of her close relationship with Tiffany, her colleagues treated her politely.
But if she fell out with Tiffany...she had offended so many people in the past, and those people would surely seek revenge.
Fiona shuddered, seething with hatred at Sophia's manipulation.
Regardless of whether Tiffany truly used her as a pawn, she absolutely could not lose Tiffany as the precious support in her life.
Moreover, Tiffany and Mr. Lancaster weren't even married yet.
If she maintained a good relationship with Tiffany, she might have a chance to get closer to Mr. Lancaster in the future.
With her own looks, Mr. Lancaster would surely fall for her.
By then, the two of them...
After breaking up with Tiffany, Fiona could finally take revenge on her.
It was a win-win situation!
Fiona's mind was filled with excitement as if she had already replaced Tiffany and become the future mistress of the Lancaster Group.
Once she came back to her senses, Fiona quickly went to apologize and confess her mistake to Tiffany, blaming everything on Sophia and accusing her of sowing discord.
In fact, Sophia's manipulation had not failed, as Fiona had never dared to reveal her true feelings or indulge in thoughts of Gabriel before.
The conversation in the pantry was a spur-of-the-moment decision by Sophia, and Fiona, being both malicious and slightly foolish, was easily influenced by others' words.
Tiffany wasn't a good person either, so let the two former best friends fight amongst themselves.
Having her own separate office space made Sophia feel much more at ease.
The independent environment was better suited for her to sketch designs.
Regarding the rumors and gossip, Sophia adopted the strategy of ignoring and not responding to them.
After all, they were like temporary scandals in the entertainment industry, disappearing after a few days. However, this time seemed a little more difficult to brush off.
On her way home from work, Sophia was unexpectedly confronted by two women!
"Yes, you are Gabriel's new girlfriend?"
The two women clearly had ill intentions, and one of them forcefully pushed Sophia.
Caught off-guard, Sophia stumbled and had to hold onto the wall to steady herself.
Frowning, she asked, "What do you want?"
"What do we want? Haha, of course, it's to teach you a lesson!"
With that, the two women attacked together.
One grabbed Sophia's hair, while the other raised her hand to slap her.
Sophia wasn't one to back down easily and retaliated with a knee strike aimed at the person pulling her hair, but she couldn't avoid the other person's slap.
"Smack..." The sound echoed crisply.
Sophia's ears rang from the blow, and before she could react, her hair was grabbed again.
Angry at being randomly attacked, Sophia fought back, ignoring the pain in her scalp.
She forcefully executed a shoulder throw.
"Hiss..." She felt as if her scalp had been torn apart.
Then, straddling her opponent, she delivered punches left and right.
The other person, who had recovered from her initial shock, was frightened by Sophia's ferocity.
"Ah, come and, um, pull her away!"
That woman was completely overwhelmed by Sophia, unable to fight back.
The other woman rushed over to grab Sophia's hair again, but Sophia quickly turned her head, rose to her feet, and delivered a powerful kick.
The woman was sent flying into the wall.
It wasn't easy raising two children on her own.
When Ethan and Emma were young, she carried one in her left arm and one in her right, playing the roles of both mother and father.
Her strength was honed through that experience.
Alex stood there, dumbfounded.
So fierce!
Gabriel furrowed his brow and exclaimed, "What are you waiting for?"
The two of them rushed forward, and as they lunged towards Sophia, she instinctively lifted her leg to kick, but Gabriel caught her just in time.
"It's me!"
Sophia still wanted to kick, but her leg was caught by someone.
"Let go of me."
Gabriel released her, but pulled her behind him.
"Call security and have them taken to the police station," Gabriel ordered coldly.
Alex quickly called the security captain.
The two women, in pain, fell to the ground.
Upon hearing that Gabriel was going to take them to the police station, they hurriedly got up and tried to run away.
Alex quickly blocked their path.
Sophia felt unlucky.
She was just a little late getting off work, and as a result, she was stopped by these two lunatics on her way to the bus stop.
Passersby were frightened, unsure of whether or not to help.
Gabriel and Alex happened to pass by in a car and saw Sophia being harassed.
They got out of the car, but before they could be of any help, Sophia took matters into her own hands.
Gabriel had to get to know Sophia all over again.
This woman, she was truly remarkable.
He couldn't help but compare the fierce Sophia in front of him to the weak Sophia from five years ago.
Sophia went to the police station and made a statement.
It was then that she found out that these two women had come for Harrison.
Her face immediately darkened.
She had been unjustly beaten because of Harrison, and now a handful of her already thinning hair had been pulled out.
She was so angry that she nearly beat up those two women at the police station.
With a grim expression, Gabriel called for Harrison.
Sophia sat on a chair, huffing with puffed-up cheeks, like a little hamster hiding food.
Gabriel paused for a moment, feeling an odd sense of familiarity.
It was as if he had seen this side of Sophia before.
But five years ago, Sophia had never shown anger in front of him.
