Chapter 733 He Regretted It
The protagonist in the photo was Jake's mother, Calliope, but there were many other protagonists.
The photos were of poor quality, but the scenery inside was still clearly visible.
Calliope was intimately close with several middle-aged men.
In addition to the photos, there was a copy of a police report, where Caleb reported that Calliope had ill intentions towards him.
What Ruth said, Gabriel brought evidence to prove it was all true.
Micah shivered under the increasing low air pressure around him, wanting to find a hole to bury himself in until the storm passed.
Jake angrily crumpled the police report into a ball and threw it into the trash can.
Then he wanted to tear the photos to pieces, but found that they were laminated and couldn't be torn by hand.
He furiously threw the photos into the air.
Micah almost buried his head in his chest, holding his breath, not daring to look at Jake.
"Liars, all of them are liars!"
"Everyone is a liar!"
His mother Calliope was a liar, his adoptive father Victor was a liar, and the Lancaster family were all liars!
Since Jake could remember, Calliope didn't care much about him, at most giving him food and water. Even so, the only person he could rely on was Calliope, the only person he could trust was Calliope.
Later, Calliope got sick. She said the Lancaster family could save her, give him a chance to survive, a good school, and everything other kids had.
But the Lancaster family didn't save her. She suffered more and more each day until she died in pain.
He thought it was good that Calliope died; death was a relief.
But he didn't have the courage to set free.
He cowardly struggled to live, supported by his hatred, walking down a bloody path.
Now someone told him that the culprit behind all this was his mother Calliope.
Jake got up and walked a few steps angrily, then heavily sat back in the chair, sometimes laughing, sometimes with a cold face.
Suddenly, he spat out a mouthful of blood and fainted.
Micah turned pale with fright.
"Mr. Hughes!"
An hour later at the hospital.
Doctor said, "The patient fainted due to excessive anger, but there is no life-threatening danger. However, he must avoid intense emotions, control his emotions, and rest well for a few days."
Jake opened his eyes, staring at the ceiling.
Micah sent the doctor away and came back to see Jake awake. He said excitedly, "You're awake. Is there anywhere else you feel uncomfortable?"
Jake didn't speak, and Micah didn't dare to say anything more.
The Blackwood Group had just relocated back to the country, and many businesses had not yet stabilized. David was busy from morning till night every day.
Even so, the Blackwood family's relationships were still there, and they could still cause trouble for the Micro Circuit Group.
After causing several problems for the Micro Circuit Group, everyone in the industry realized that the Micro Circuit Group had offended the Blackwood family!
Some people, wary of the Blackwood family, decisively terminated their cooperation with the Micro Circuit Group.
But many others believed that the Micro Circuit Group was a rising star with a promising future and continued to cooperate with them steadfastly.
Gabriel was discharged from the hospital. He didn't let Sophia pick him up but had Alex handle the discharge procedures and take him home.
As soon as Gabriel walked in, countless colored ribbons fell down.
"Welcome home, Daddy," the three children shouted in unison.
Gabriel's eyes lit up.
He used to look down on this so-called sense of ceremony, thinking it was childish, and the colored ribbons falling on him were dirty and uncomfortable.
But now he had changed his mind!
He loved Sophia and the children's enthusiastic welcome.
He squatted down, and the three children lined up to kiss him.
After Emma kissed him, he looked at Sophia.
Sophia was surprised.
"Mommy has to kiss Daddy too," Emma said, blinking her innocent eyes.
Sophia, helpless, leaned in to kiss Gabriel on the cheek.
But Gabriel suddenly turned his head, and Sophia ended up kissing him on the lips.
"We're kids. We shouldn't look."
Emma shouted, covering her eyes, but peeking through her fingers with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
Ethan covered one of his eyes with one hand and Sam's eyes with the other.
Sophia's face turned red, and she glared at Gabriel.
"The kids are watching, aren't you embarrassed?"
Gabriel smiled, "Don't worry, we're setting an example for the kids. Ethan and Sam should grow up to be good husbands who love and cherish their wives, and Emma should find a husband who loves and cherishes her."
Thinking about Emma getting married in the future, Gabriel suddenly felt a bit sad.
He suddenly felt that no man in the world could be good enough for his Emma.
Ruth watched the family with a smile, holding Betty's hand. "Our Lancaster family is getting better and better."
"Yes, their relationship is good, so you can rest assured."
Gabriel was confined to the house by Sophia for another week to recuperate. During that week, they stayed home and played with the kids.
After that, Gabriel went back to the hospital for a reexamination. Confirming that he had recovered well and could go back to work, Sophia allowed him to return to the company.
Harrison was shocked to see Gabriel back at work.
"Who is this? Do I make a mistake?"
Gabriel couldn't be bothered to respond to him.
Harrison followed him into the office. "Gabriel, you're such a henpecked husband now. If your wife doesn't give the word, you don't come to the company. Everyone almost thought the company had no boss."
Gabriel remained expressionless.
"Notify everyone, meeting in ten minutes!"
Alex replied, "Yes!"
Harrison wailed, "No way, you come back and immediately call a meeting. My good days are over."
During Gabriel's illness, the Lancaster Group's stock price was very low, and some retail investors sold their shares, all of which were absorbed by that institution.
In the meeting, Gabriel made various decisive decisions.
An hour later, Gabriel kept a few key executives behind.
"Harrison, keep an eye on the Phoenix Group's stock price. If it drops significantly, buy up the shares sold by the investors at all costs."
"And you, keep an eye on the Micro Circuit Group."
"Got it!"
"No problem."
They agreed in unison.
Then Gabriel took out a list.
"This is the layoff list for the X Project lab. HR Director, handle the aftermath according to this list. Compensate as needed."
HR Director nodded, "Yes!"
"Also, did you manage to recruit the employees I asked you to poach last time?"
"There's still one tech expert we haven't convinced."
"Offer whatever conditions he wants. Make sure to recruit him!"
"Yes!"
At Fusion Dynamics Corporation, Sophia also came to work.
Jennifer had investigated the incident where the clothes were damaged at the fashion show and had gathered evidence.
Kathy had been dismissed from Fusion Dynamics Corporation.
She went back to the Lancaster Group, but the Lancaster Group's fashion department director, Margaret, didn't want her either.
