Chapter 631 Termination of Cooperation

Gabriel got home super late, and everyone was already knocked out. Like always, he checked on the three kids first, then lingered a bit at Sophia's door before heading to his own room.

Lately, he’d been swamped with the new product launch at work, leaving early and coming back late every day. He barely had any time for Sophia and the kids.

Once this crazy period was over, maybe he could plan something fun for the kids.

But more importantly, he needed to fix things with Sophia.

As the night dragged on, Gabriel's thoughts always drifted back to Sophia.

The next morning, Gabriel showed up in the dining room.

"Daddy," Emma said, leaning over.

Gabriel picked her up and let her sit on his lap.

Sophia was across from them, already done with her breakfast. Desmond took the three kids to school, and she and Gabriel drove separately to work.

At the door, Sophia was changing her shoes when Gabriel suddenly took the car keys from her hand.

"What are you doing?" Sophia asked.

Gabriel looked at her gently. "I'll drive you to the office today."

"Aren't you busy today?"

"I can make time for this."

Sophia didn't argue.

In the passenger seat, Sophia pulled down the mirror to check her makeup, making sure it was fine before flipping it back up.

"There's this big new project I'm running, so I've been pretty busy lately," Gabriel tried to make small talk.

Sophia responded softly, "Mm-hmm."

"I have to go on a business trip this weekend, but after this week, I'll be more relaxed."

"Mm-hmm."

"Next weekend, let's take the kids out. It's going to be nice out, and we all need a break."

Sophia had already promised the kids a trip next week, and hearing that Gabriel had the same plan, she thought for a moment and asked, "Where are we planning to go?"

"The beach?" Gabriel suggested, but then he remembered the time they ran into Jake at the beach, and his expression darkened.

"Never mind, let's go to the forest park. The kids can see some animals and rare plants, and it will be educational for them."

Sophia nodded slightly.

Ultimately, the destination would depend on the kids.

The atmosphere grew silent, and Sophia thought about that matter. She fidgeted with her phone, organizing her thoughts before slowly calling his name.

"Gabriel."

"What?"

"You mentioned Tiffany..."

Just then, Gabriel's phone rang. Sophia glanced at it casually; the caller was Alex.

Gabriel was about to hang up.

"Answer it, it might be urgent," Sophia reminded him.

Gabriel put on his Bluetooth headset.

Alex said urgently, "Mr. Lancaster, bad news. The supplier from Country M suddenly refused to provide us with the raw materials for the chips."

"Okay, I got it." Gabriel's brows furrowed. "I'll be there in about thirty minutes."

Sophia could sense the seriousness in his voice.

After hanging up, Gabriel asked her, "What were you saying about Tiffany?"

Mentioning Tiffany made his heart tighten, fearing Sophia might still be angry with him because of Tiffany.

Sophia said, "Nothing, just drop me off here. I want to walk a bit; I haven't exercised in a while, and my back has been sore."

"Alright."

They were already in the city center, where both the roads and sidewalks were filled with people rushing to work.

Sophia got out of the car, and Gabriel added, "I'll pick you up after work."

"Mm-hmm."

Sophia waved and walked towards Fusion Dynamics Corporation.

It was just a short walk to Fusion Dynamics; she’d turn the corner and be there.

She realized she was kind of hesitant to ask Gabriel.

'What if the answer wasn’t what she and Caroline had speculated?' Sophia wondered, smiling bitterly.

She thought, 'No matter what, I still want to get to the bottom of it. If today isn’t the right time, then I’ll wait for another chance.'

Gabriel didn’t rush to the office but instead drove slowly, following Sophia. She seemed lost in thought and didn’t notice his car trailing her.

It wasn’t until he saw her walk into the company that Gabriel turned around and headed to his own office.

As soon as he arrived, Alex and Harrison approached him.

"Gabriel, the only available supplier for our new product just pulled the plug. Last night, they suddenly sent a notice saying they’re out. What are we going to do about our new product?"

Alex added, "We’ve already called them. They said they’re willing to pay the penalty, no matter the amount."

The three of them walked into the office, and Alex immediately closed the door.

Gabriel sat down in his chair with a commanding presence.

"Let me see the notice."

Alex quickly pulled it up on his phone and showed it to Gabriel.

Harrison analyzed, "We’ve always worked well with them, but this is completely out of the blue. They know we need their raw materials for our new product, yet they still did this. It’s highly unethical."

"I bet someone’s got their hand in this." Harrison thought for a moment. "Could it be Micro Circuit Group?"

Gabriel’s brows furrowed deeply.

"This supplier is a major company in Country M, known for their ethics. If Micro Circuit Group really got them to cancel the deal, then Jake’s got some serious clout."

"Book me a flight. I’ll go talk to their president personally," Gabriel instructed Alex, then turned to Harrison. "You go to Brilliantvastan."

Harrison’s eyes lit up, and he nodded, "No problem. Alex, book me a ticket too."

Gabriel had originally planned to go to Country M the next day, but in the afternoon, another exclusive supplier from Country M suddenly reported a shortage of a certain material, making it likely that their orders couldn’t be delivered on time.

Gabriel made a quick decision and flew to Country M that afternoon with Purchasing Director Benjamin Coleman and Alex.

Before boarding the plane, Gabriel texted Sophia.

Gabriel: [Sorry, gotta go on a last-minute trip to Country M. Can’t pick you up this afternoon. Talk soon!]

Sophia didn’t reply; he assumed she was busy.

An hour later, Sophia saw the message and replied.

Sophia: [Okay, have a good trip.]

The next day, Sophia and Ruth took the three adorable kids back to The Blackwood Manor.

The Blackwood Manor instantly became lively.

Celeste was doing better, but she was still somewhat weak and couldn’t overexert herself. As a result, almost all the work of Fusion Dynamics had fallen on Jennifer.

"Celeste, Sophia and I have talked it over. We’ll stay at your place for a while to keep you company. It must be a drag being home alone all the time."

Celeste was delighted. "That’s wonderful. If you hadn’t shown up, I was planning to visit you."

"I’ve brought all my luggage," Ruth said, having her things moved in.
