Chapter 210 Gabriel Got Another Blow

Ethan continued, "The first option is the most difficult to carry out. Sam really likes the bad guy daddy, and from what we can see, the bad guy daddy is also good to Sam. With bad guy daddy's resources, Mommy can't compete."
Emma wrinkled her little nose in distress.
"What about the second one?"
"The second option isn’t as difficult as the first to carry out, but the risk is that we might expose ourselves."
"Then neither of the options will work."
The first option was originally the best, but it required time. They needed to make Sam fall in love with their family and fully accept Mommy. This way, Mommy would have a greater chance of winning custody.
However, now that the bad guy daddy and the bad woman were about to get married, time was of the essence.
Ethan had specifically searched for a lot of information online.
"There's another way."
"What is it?"
"After the bad guy daddy and the bad woman get married, we collect evidence of the bad woman bullying Sam. This way, Mommy's chances of winning will be much higher."
But this also had risks. The harm to Sam would be too great, and what if the bad woman was cruel enough to make Sam even more introverted in one fell swoop?
Emma, quick-witted, turned her little brain.
"Actually, we can make Sam resist the bad guy daddy. If the bad guy daddy really loves Sam, he won't marry the bad woman."
This logic worked. Ethan playfully tapped Emma's cheek.
"You're very smart today."
Emma was unhappy and pouted as she responded, "I'm smart every day, okay?"
"Did you solve yesterday's Olympiad math problems then?"
It was so mean of her brother to always use Olympiad problems to pressure her!
Emma decided to ignore Ethan for an hour.
...
Daddy has been very busy lately; he went to the hospital every day to take care of great grandma and was also busy with work. Sam saw that Daddy even grew a beard.
Daddy was already so tired, so should he still throw tantrums and upset Daddy?
But Emma said that was the only way to prevent Daddy from marrying Aunt Tiffany.
Sam was home alone, and Gabriel was not very reassured by this, so he decided to come back home every other day, taking turns with Betty to stay overnight at the hospital.
Tonight, Betty was at the hospital, so Gabriel came home to be with his son.
"Do you have something to tell Daddy?" Gabriel keenly noticed his son's mood.
Sam, with his shiny black eyes, hesitated for three seconds, shook his head, then ran into his room to sleep.
Gabriel called David to ask.
David answered seriously, "Sam hasn't shown any abnormalities."
The only anomaly was that Sam had started to talk, but he only spoke to those two kids and didn't say a word to anyone else. He also didn't allow him to report anything to Mr. Lancaster.
If Mr. Lancaster knew he was withholding information... David had been having nightmares recently, dreaming that Mr. Lancaster brutally killed him.
If he reported it, Mr. Lancaster would be very happy, and might even give him a bonus.
But Sam also said he would get Mr. Lancaster to give him a raise. If he told, Sam would get Mr. Lancaster to fire him. He had a family to support, so he couldn't lose this good job.
In the end, David decided to keep a low profile and said nothing.
Gabriel's probing gaze circled David.
David was a simple-minded man with brute strength and martial arts skills, but he was loyal, which was why Gabriel had kept him around in the first place.
When Gabriel was selecting a bodyguard for Sam, he hadn't chosen David. It was Sam who had picked David, this proved that David would do a good job protecting Sam.
There was a time when someone tried to kidnap Sam, and it was David who subdued the person.
"If anything unusual happens to Sam, you must report it. Otherwise, if something goes wrong, you will be held responsible," Gabriel warned.
David lowered his head, "Yes!"
Did Mr. Lancaster mean that he should report if anything bad happened to Sam?
Then he could just report the worrisome things and not the good news.
That would be too easy. Sam being able to talk was a good thing, so he didn't have to report it.
"Mr. Lancaster," David remembered something, "It seemed like Sam was a bit upset today after learning that you're going to marry Miss Foster."
"Who said I was getting married?" Gabriel glared at him.
David replied, "It's all over the internet."
Gabriel pulled out his phone. The trending topic on Instagram was his upcoming wedding.
Alex didn't even bother to do any public relations!
Soon, the trending topic was taken down. When Tiffany saw it, she was so angry that she smashed another glass and made a phone call.
"Keep buying marketing accounts to post announcements."
She wanted to assert her authority over Sophia. She was the future Mrs. Lancaster, while Sophia was a thing of the past.
She wanted Sophia to give up!
...
The Lancaster Group was on holiday, with Christmas just five days away.
Sophia had time to prepare food for the children at home.
The day before the surgery, Madam Lancaster couldn't eat anything, so Sophia brought the children to keep her company for half a day.
During this time, Gabriel was busy at the company.
The next day, Madam Lancaster was taken into the operating room. Gabriel and Sophia waited outside the operating room, and Harrison also came.
Upon seeing Sophia, Harrison felt somewhat awkward. He had almost crossed the line with her, but luckily, nothing happened.
Thankfully, Noah had found him. Noah hadn't been talking to him for a few days.
The surgery was very risky. The doctor had mentioned before the operation that it might take a long time.
Ethan and Emma had Caroline sneak them into the hospital.
Sam was openly carried by his father, waiting together outside the operating room.
The two little ones wore masks and hats, and Caroline also covered herself tightly.
"Great grandma, you have to get better. Emma still has a lot of stories to tell you."
"Ethan also wants to hear your stories about when you and Great grandpa were young and struggling together."
The two children were nervously praying for their great grandmother in a corner.
Four hours passed, and there was still no movement in the operating room. Gabriel handed Sam to Harrison and then went to the restroom.
Ethan also couldn't hold it in anymore.
After taking care of his needs, he put his pants back on, turned around, and saw the bad guy daddy coming in.
Ethan's eyes widened in panic, his pupils dilating as he stood there, not knowing what to do for a moment.
Gabriel stopped in his tracks, looking curiously at the child.
"Do you know me?"
From the child's eyes, Gabriel saw panic.
A familiar feeling surged up again.
Strange, why did all the children he met recently give him a familiar feeling?
These eyes... he felt like he had seen them somewhere before.
Ethan shook his head vigorously, then lowered his head and ran past him, as if he had seen a dangerous beast.
Gabriel felt like his character was being attacked again.
Was he that scary?
Ethan's heart was beating fast. He didn't tell Emma and his godmother about his encounter with the bad guy daddy.
Anyway, he was wearing a mask and a hat, so the bad guy daddy didn't recognize him.
The operation lasted a full six hours. Tiffany had heard about Madam Lancaster's surgery and wanted to come over.
She even thought about sabotaging it, but Madam Lancaster Lancaster's chief physician was not so easy to buy off. She also feared doing too much and being discovered by Gabriel.
Gabriel didn't let her come, so she obediently didn't.
Finally, the door of the operating room opened, and the doctor came out.
