Chapter 305 Loss
Gabriel returned, Ethan heard the movement, got up from the bed, and quickly ran out of the room.
Ethan opened his mouth but hesitated to call out "daddy," so he said, "Hey."
The childish voice echoed in the quiet villa, Gabriel stopped in his tracks, turned around, with a slight frown.
Ethan harshly said, "If you don't let us see mommy, we will run away. I'm not afraid of you. You hurt mommy, I will never admit that you are my dad."
Gabriel's frown deepened.
Gabriel walked up to Ethan, looking down at him.
Ethan felt nervous, he was actually a bit scared.
Would the bad dad spank him?
But for mommy's sake, Ethan had to be tough!
Gabriel said, "Have you forgotten about Emma being kidnapped? You took Emma and Sam out together. If you encounter bad people again, do you think you can rescue them with your abilities?"
Ethan looked pale.
Ethan's lip-biting action was almost the same as Sophia's.
Gabriel sighed helplessly and said, "I can assure you that you won't be apart for too long."
Ethan looked up at him suspiciously.
The father and son stared at each other for a minute like this, Ethan clenched his little fist and turned back into the room.
Gabriel shook his head helplessly and went to check on Emma and Sam before returning to the room to freshen up.
The next day at kindergarten, Emma was listless leaning on the desk.
Madam said if mommy could move into the old mansion, she could be with mommy every day and never be separated again.
This way, she would not only have mommy but also daddy.
But how could she get mommy to move in?
Josie looked at Emma, who had been in a bad mood lately, and didn't dare to disturb her too much.
Since Josie successfully reported, her mother's attitude toward Josie had changed. Her mother would give Josie a smile every time she dropped her off at school and even let the maid prepare snacks for Josie when she got home.
Dad said Roberts was busy, so he temporarily hired another teacher to come home to teach Josie the violin. Dad said he would bring in Roberts to teach Josie once Roberts finished her own work.
Josie was living a very happy life now.
But her good friend Emma was unhappy, and Josie wanted to comfort her but didn't know how.
After school, the three children were picked up in a private luxury car. Ethan inadvertently looked out the car window and suddenly saw a familiar figure in the distance.
"Mommy!" Ethan quickly opened the car window and called out.
Sophia on the other side of the road seemed to hear a "mommy" and looked around.
"Mommy, I'm here," Ethan said and waved.
The car was still moving, and David reminded, "Young master, pull your hand back, it's dangerous."
"You, stop the car!" Ethan shouted.
Emma and Sam both leaned over to see mommy.
Sophia finally spotted the car and hurried to cross the road, but there were vehicles coming and going on the road, not a pedestrian crossing, and there was even a railing in the middle.
David reminded, "The boss ordered to pick up Emma and Sam immediately after school, not a moment to be delayed."
Sam was angry, and demanded, "David, stop the car!"
David thought, 'When the young master gets angry, it's scary, but the boss is even scarier.'
Ethan saw mommy trying to rush across the road and almost got hit by a car. Ethan felt nervous and worried.
The car slowly drove away, and the three children gathered at the window, watching mommy's figure getting smaller and smaller.
Sophia stood on the roadside, watching the car leave, feeling very sad.
Back home, Madam saw that the eyes of the three children were all red, so she called David over.
David honestly explained.
Madam said, "Just stop for a moment and let the children see what's wrong!"
David replied, "But this is the boss's order."
Madam angrily picked up a cane and tapped David, saying, "You are really stupid. Forget it, go rest."
David really couldn't figure out where he went wrong.
He was too obedient.
But if he didn't obey, he would be fined.
Emma came down with red eyes and buried herself in Madam's arms.
Emma cried, "Granny, I want mommy to move in."
Madam said, "Okay, then you do as I taught you."
"Okay."
Madam had Betty bring her phone and dialed Sophia's number.
Sophia was still standing outside the kindergarten, staring inside, making the security guard look at her strangely several times.
The phone rang, bringing Sophia back to reality.
Sophia answered the call, "Hello."
An old voice came through, "Sophia, it's me."
Sophia greeted, "Hello."
Madam said, "Emma is with me, she wants to talk to you."
Sophia instantly became excited, it had been so long since she heard Emma's lovely voice.
She agreed, "Okay." Her voice even trembled.
Emma greeted, "Mommy."
Hearing the word "mommy," Sophia's heart was filled with warmth, the cracks in her heart slowly healing and becoming stronger.
She had to persevere, for the children, Sophia had to hold on and bring the children back!
Sophia gently called out, "Emma."
Upon hearing mommy's voice, Emma wanted to cry but held back, and said, "Emma really misses mommy."
Sophia replied, "Mommy misses Emma too. Have you been obedient recently?"
Emma said, "Very obedient."
Sophia advised, "Okay, listen to Madam and your brother."
"I know, mommy." Emma hesitated, "Mommy."
Sophia asked, "What's wrong?"
Emma said, "Mommy, I think daddy is not bad. We, Ethan and I, can be with daddy forever."
Sophia suddenly felt very desperate.
"Does Emma really like daddy?" Sophia asked with difficulty.
Emma answered, "I like him. Daddy is very nice, he lifts Emma up to play, buys many Barbie dolls and pretty dresses for Emma, and lots of delicious food. Daddy is strong and will protect Emma."
Emma listed many good things about the bad dad to Emma.
Emma said, "Mommy, don't dislike daddy, okay?"
Emma didn't know, every word she said felt like a knife cutting into Sophia's heart.
Gabriel had even taken away the children's hearts, and Sophia had ultimately lost the children completely.
"As long as Gabriel treats you well," Sophia said softly.
Emma called out to her, "Mommy."
Sophia replied, "I'm here."
Emma asked, "When can I see you?"
Emma couldn't wait for mommy to move in quickly.
Sophia replied, "Very soon."
Emma said, "Mommy, take care of yourself, Emma will wait obediently for you."
Sophia answered, "Okay."
After hanging up the phone, Mrs. Lancaster smiled and patted Emma's head.
Emma looked up, "If I say this, will mommy really come?"
Mrs. Lancaster replied, "She will."
As long as the children said they liked daddy and wanted to stay with daddy, Sophia would definitely hurry to the Lancaster family. By then, Mrs. Lancaster would unite the children to persuade Sophia, and they should be able to convince Sophia to stay.
Madam was looking forward to the reunion of the family of five.
Sophia stood at the kindergarten gate, tears streaming down her face. She turned around and walked away step by step, her lonely and sad figure exuding an air of despair.
In the hospital, Caroline came out of the doctor's office, looking very tired.
One emergency surgery had used up the money Sophia had given to Caroline, and the next round of treatment would require more money, which would be a significant amount.
Caroline found a corner and squatted down.
