Chapter 632 Understanding
Ruth was all smiles as she settled into The Blackwood Manor. Sophia and her three kids were there too, which made Celeste super happy.
That day, The Blackwood Manor was buzzing with laughter and joy.
Sophia decided to take it easy over the weekend, ditching work to hang out with her kids.
Later that night, after the kids were asleep, Sophia was chilling on her bed, scrolling through her phone. She chatted with Caroline for a bit, but when Caroline didn't reply right away, she shot a message to Gabriel.
Sophia: [How's it going?]
Gabriel didn't get back to her, so she figured he was tied up with work.
By 10:30 PM, Sophia was out cold. The next morning, she saw Gabriel's reply.
Gabriel: [All good! Back in 3 days.]
He was keeping her in the loop about his schedule.
Sophia sent back a smiley emoji.
Since Emma's secret life as a streamer got out, Sophia had put a stop to her live streams. She was worried that Emma, being so young, might attract the wrong kind of attention and get into trouble.
But after a lot of begging from Emma, some convincing from Ethan, and a bit of help from Sam, Sophia finally caved and let Emma stream once a week.
Still, Emma wasn't allowed to do any commercial stuff.
Sophia didn't need her kids to make money for her. She could handle that herself, especially with the Blackwoods backing her up.
Plus, with the power and influence of the Blackwoods and the Lancasters, they could keep Emma safe from any harm.
After giving Emma the green light to stream, Sophia made sure to catch her shows. She even made an account and would jump into the comments to defend Emma if anyone tried to talk smack.
Pretty soon, Sophia became a familiar face in the comment section.
After one stream, Emma whispered to Ethan, "Daddy and Sam became top supporters by sending gifts, but Mommy became a loyal fan by defending me."
Emma then grinned proudly, "Mommy is awesome."
Ethan replied, "That's because Mommy is broke."
Sam nodded in agreement.
"What are you guys talking about?" Sophia asked, raising an eyebrow at the three kids huddled together.
"We're saying that Mommy is awesome. Mommy, you're my hero." Emma jumped into Sophia's arms.
Sophia poked Emma's forehead. "You're the biggest prankster."
Then she gently patted Ethan and Sam's heads.
"Celeste made some snacks for you. Go downstairs and eat."
"Snack time!"
Emma skipped out, Sam jogged after her, and Ethan coolly walked out at his own pace.
Sophia smiled helplessly, took out her phone, and was about to log out of the streaming platform when she saw a live stream promotion. The streamer was Tiffany!
She knew Tiffany had become a bit of an internet celeb, but she had been too busy to keep up. She was surprised to see Tiffany's follower count had blown up so fast.
She wondered, 'How does Tiffany pull that off?'
Curious, Sophia clicked on Tiffany's live stream.
"Right now, we're at a night market in a small town in Country M. Lots of Chinese people love coming here..." Tiffany went on to introduce various foods.
Someone sent Tiffany an expensive gift, and Tiffany sweetly thanked them, making Sophia cringe.
Sophia objectively analyzed Tiffany's streaming style and got why people liked her.
She then exited the live stream and checked Tiffany's social media accounts, discovering that Tiffany had racked up a million followers.
On Twitter, Tiffany's latest post was tagged at a hospital in Country M!
Sophia's eyes narrowed at the hospital's location.
It was the same hospital where she had taken Gabriel when she saved him.
She read Tiffany's post.
"Back when I was studying in Country M, I was all alone. Near graduation, a senior introduced me to this hospital for an internship. Thanks to that experience, I was able to successfully start a psychological counseling center later. Things didn't work out for the center though, and I've moved on from being a psychological counselor."
The whole post was about Tiffany's struggles and efforts while studying in Country M.
Sophia seemed to understand something.
She had always been baffled by how easily Tiffany could pull off her act. If Tiffany had never seen her with Gabriel at the hospital, Gabriel should have been able to tell the difference.
'Now it makes sense. Tiffany had interned at that hospital. What if she had noticed Sophia and Gabriel during her internship?' The thought sent a shiver down Sophia's spine.
She quickly called Caroline.
"Caroline, can you look into something for me?"
"OK, no problem. I'll get back to you tomorrow."
Sophia continued to browse Tiffany's Twitter. Tiffany liked to post various photos and luxury items, or promote her charitable activities.
Afraid of getting nauseated, Sophia was about to log out when she saw Tiffany's new post.
"Had a great day."
A simple sentence accompanied by a photo.
The photo was a selfie of Tiffany in a hotel lobby, with a familiar figure in the background—Gabriel!
The photo only showed Gabriel talking to someone, while Tiffany seemed to be sitting somewhere with a coffee, looking very relaxed.
The picture and caption made it look like Gabriel and Tiffany were on vacation in Country M, with Gabriel talking to someone while Tiffany waited with her coffee.
Sophia closed Twitter, realizing it was late, and went downstairs to find her three children.
In Country M, Gabriel had spent the day waiting to meet Christopher Griffin from the MS Group. He chatted briefly with the CEO of another supplier in the hotel lobby.
He didn't notice Tiffany in the distance, nor did he see her take a suggestive photo.
Alex said, "I've found out that Christopher from the MS Group drove to the western factory this morning. He might not be back for three days."
Gabriel immediately decided. "Prepare the car. We're going to the western factory to find him."
The drive to the western factory would take over three hours. Since Christopher was unwilling to take Gabriel's calls, Gabriel had to find him in person to negotiate.
On the way, Gabriel video-called Harrison.
Harrison wasn't having any luck either.
"I've checked three companies, and none of them meet the quality standards. There are two more left. I'll check them out tomorrow."
Due to the special nature of this raw material, they had been searching worldwide for alternative suppliers but hadn't found any.
To ensure the new product could be developed and launched smoothly, Gabriel had to get Christopher to agree to continue supplying, while also looking for alternative materials.
Benjamin, sitting in the passenger seat, was also making calls non-stop.
Suddenly, a sharp screech of brakes was followed by a collision of two cars.
