Chapter 301 Outcome

Josie was raised by her, she knew her temperament best, and she absolutely dared not lie in front of her.
It seems that it wasn't her who complained to Nicholas. In fact, she didn't dare to complain either!
Ms. Wolf said, "It's possible that Nicholas realized it himself, Daisy, you should treat Josie better, you must remember, Josie is your daughter, she is your daughter with Nicholas."
Daisy really wanted to say no, but when she saw Josie there too, she still held back.
Josie was like a thorn in her heart, but she had to keep that thorn. This feeling was even more uncomfortable than killing her.
Ms. Wolf looked at her daughter who was wronged and hugged her with pity.
Although she didn't want to admit that Josie was her granddaughter, she had to admit it.
The plan back then was not perfect enough.
Sophia sat in the study, supporting her head to think of a design, but her mind was blank, in a daze for half a day, without drawing a single stroke.
The phone rang, Sophia's eyes flickered, seeing that it was a call from Mr. Sanders, Sophia thought of something and answered quickly.
Mr. Sanders inquired, "Miss Kelly, the trial result is out, the documents have been sent to the law firm, do you want to come pick them up, or should I deliver them to you tomorrow?"
Sophia replied, "I'll come pick them up."
Sophia hung up the phone, hurriedly put on her shoes, and went out, only to find that she was still wearing home clothes, so she hurried back to change.
Downstairs, she met Jake.
Jake asked, "Kelly, where are you in such a hurry?"
Sophia replied, hurriedly, "The result is out, I'm going to the law firm to get the documents."
He suggested, "I'll accompany you." Jake naturally got into Sophia's car.
On the way, Sophia was thinking about the outcome.
For this result, she had worked so hard, couldn't sleep all night, and was so anxious that her hair was falling out.
When they arrived at the law firm, the two hurried upstairs.
Mr. Sanders was waiting for them in the office, and when he saw Sophia, he immediately handed her the documents.
But Sophia looked at the documents and couldn't bring herself to take them.
She was afraid.
Afraid of a bad outcome.
Jake took them on her behalf, then opened the document bag and asked her, "Should I look at it for you?"
Sophia took a deep breath and took it back, "I'll do it myself."
At the same time, another copy of the trial result had been sent to Lancaster. Alex had already instructed the front desk to receive any documents sent by the court to the boss as soon as possible.
At this moment, Gabriel was in a meeting, Alex received the message and quietly approached Gabriel.
Alex informed, "The court's judgment has arrived." He thought the boss would look at the result immediately, but the boss just moved slightly and continued the meeting.
Half an hour later, the meeting ended, Alex went to get the delivery, opened it, and handed the document to Gabriel.
Upon opening it, the result was as expected.
Alex looked at the boss's expressionless face, could it be that he lost?
He was thinking about whether he should comfort the boss, and caught sight of the document placed on the table by the boss, he glanced at it several times.
Gabriel instructed, "You can leave now."
Alex replied, "Okay."
Clearly, he had won the lawsuit, successfully gaining custody of the three children, so why wasn't he happier?
Seeing the result of her loss, Sophia didn't cry, her tear ducts seemed to have dried up, she stuffed the documents back into the bag, thanked Mr. Sanders, and then walked out of the law firm numbly.
Jake followed along, worried.
He called out to her, "Kelly."
Kelly asked, "Can you drive for me?"
Jake replied, "Sure."
Jake took the keys and drove Sophia back home.
Throughout the journey, Sophia didn't say a word, and Jake didn't dare to disturb her.
Watching Sophia enter the house without even closing the door, Jake became even more worried and followed her inside.
Sophia went into her room.
Jake watched, then went into the kitchen.
He opened the fridge, took out some ingredients, skillfully washed and chopped
them, and cooked a pot of delicious soup.
He said, "Kelly, I made some soup with my limited cooking skills."
Jake brought the soup in, and Sophia was curled up on the edge of the bed, holding the children's clothes in her arms, her gaze vacant.
A pang of heartache cut through his heart.
He placed the soup on the bedside table and squatted in front of Sophia.
Jake suggested, "We can consider appealing."
"Appeal?" Sophia came to her senses, she looked at Jake blankly and asked, "How to appeal?"
Jake was struggling to find the words, stammering, "I..."
Sophia said, "It's impossible, even if I appeal again, I can't win against Gabriel."
Tears burst forth.
"Why, why do I have to lose my children," Sophia asked aloud, "What did I do wrong?"
Sophia cried out in pain, crying like a child, so helpless.
Jake's heart clenched tightly, he opened his arms gently and embraced Sophia, letting her cry on his shoulder.
Half an hour later, Sophia cried herself out, leaning on his shoulder with closed eyes.
Jake thought she had fallen asleep and was about to carry her to bed.
Sophia said, "Let me have some quiet time alone." Her voice was hoarse from crying.
He agreed, "Okay."
Jake let go of her, got up, and walked out, thoughtfully closing the door behind him.
At that moment, as he turned around, all the worry on his face faded away, replaced by a dark look. His mind was thinking:
Jake thought, 'Gabriel, I will make you pay a painful price!'
Outside, the sky was getting darker, the doorbell rang, Jake walked over and saw Gabriel standing outside through the electronic camera.
He opened the door.
Gabriel's face darkened when he saw Jake.
Gabriel asked, "Why are you here? Where's Sophia?"
It was so late, and Jake was actually still at Sophia's house.
His anger surged up, the results had just come out, and Sophia couldn't wait to have Jake move in?
She kept saying she couldn't be without the children, even climbing walls at the kindergarten, and how much she loved the children.
It was ridiculous that he had eagerly come to pick her up to visit the Lancaster family.
And the result?
Sophia and Jake were laughing.
Jake calmly met Gabriel's angry gaze.
Jake said, "She's asleep, Mr. Lancaster, is there something I can help convey?"
Gabriel was burning with anger, he turned and left.
Gabriel said, "It's nothing."
He really had nothing to do.
Since Sophia didn't want to see the children, then she won't see them!
Watching Gabriel leave in a huff, Jake's lips curled up slightly but quickly fell.
He could see that Gabriel had misunderstood, but he didn't need to explain.
Jake was worried about Sophia, so he opened the door to check on her every hour.
Sophia sat on the edge of the bed, staring blankly all night.
That night, Jake stood guard outside, like Sophia's knight.
When Sophia wanted quiet, he didn't disturb her, just silently kept her company outside.
That night, Gabriel couldn't sleep again.
The image of Jake at Sophia's house filled his mind, Jake's words "she's asleep" were particularly grating.
He got up, opened the blanket, and took out a bottle of wine from the liquor cabinet.
