Chapter 474 Reputation

Tiffany saw the news and remembered the photos she took of Jake and Sophia. She used to think Jake was just a pretty face, but he turned out to be really capable.

She wondered, "Why do so many great guys like Sophia? Is Jake the one helping her?"

Jealousy twisted Tiffany's face. She couldn't just sit around anymore. She tried contacting that mysterious person and sent a few messages. To her surprise, they replied.

Tiffany quickly sent another message: "Help me deal with Sam."

Ever since she saw Sam's mouth move in the kindergarten footage, she suspected he could talk. But after watching him for so long, he still hadn't spoken. If he did recover, she'd lose her chance with Gabriel.

Tiffany stared at her phone, waiting for a reply. After half an hour, she got one: "Know your place."

"What does that mean?" she thought, biting her lip in frustration. Was he telling her she had no right to ask for favors? She didn't dare offend him and kept sending messages, but got no more replies.

Meanwhile, Diana took special medicine from the Watson Group in Country M. After a week, she showed slight improvement, with longer periods of lucidity.

Blake said, "Mr. Wolf, you need to find a bone marrow match soon. Even the best medicine won't last without a transplant."

Daniel's heart sank. "I know, we're already looking."

Linda thought of Caroline but said nothing.

Clayton was supposed to return home, but when he heard Diana was found and sent to Country M for treatment, he came from Country Y to meet his sister for the first time. Seeing the pale, frail, and bald Diana, he couldn't believe this was his sister.

Linda nudged him. "This is your sister."

Clayton opened his mouth but couldn't speak. Linda told Diana, "He might need some time to accept it."

Diana, lucid at the moment, shook her head and said hoarsely, "It's okay."

Clayton left the hospital with mixed feelings. His sister disappeared before he was born, and he only learned about her later. He felt nothing for her since they never met. His parents had neglected him while searching for her, and he almost got scalded by boiling water when he was young. He was even sent to Michael's house temporarily.

Thinking about his rough childhood and seeing Diana so weak, he sighed deeply. After walking around, he returned to the ward. Diana was still awake. Seeing his parents' haggard faces, he didn't want to worry them anymore.

So, he called out, "Sis."

Diana gave a weak smile. "Clayton."

Clayton added, "Diana, you will get better. Stay strong and hang in there."

Diana replied, "Yes, I have a lot to do. I'll hold on."

Diana had to continue her treatment in Country M. Daniel needed to return for work, so Linda stayed with Diana while Daniel took Clayton back home.

Caroline had only been teaching for two days when students started calling her "the most beautiful mentor."

"Our most beautiful mentor, got plans tonight?" Wesley asked with a grin.

"What's up?" Caroline replied.

"A dinner party."

Another dinner party? Caroline used to enjoy them, but now she wanted to be home with Josie. She was about to decline when Wesley leaned in and whispered, "Kieran's going too."

Caroline paused. Did Wesley think she was interested in Kieran?

"I have plans tonight, I can't go."

Wesley looked surprised. "Really? Kieran seemed interested in you the other day. I heard you both live in the same neighborhood."

How did Wesley know that so quickly?

"Yeah, it's a coincidence, but Wesley, I have no feelings for Kieran."

Wesley was skeptical. "Really? Kieran's handsome and successful. Lots of people chase him, but he seemed different with you."

"Really," Caroline said firmly.

"So you're sure you won't go tonight?"

"Yes."

"Okay, I'll let them know."

As it was almost time, Caroline packed up to go home. Passing by the teaching building, she overheard some gossip and turned back.

Melissa was writing when she heard a knock. "Come in."

Caroline entered. "Ms. Allen."

"Caroline, come in," Melissa greeted. "How are the students? Obedient?"

"They're good, not hard to teach."

Most students were adults, eager to learn, so teaching wasn't difficult.

"Ms. Allen," Caroline said with concern.

"What's wrong? Any difficulties?"

Caroline shook her head. "I heard some things that might affect you, Ms. Allen. I'm worried it might drag you down."

Melissa put down her pen. Her hair, slightly grey, was neatly tied up. She had an aura of cultural knowledge and authority.

"If I recommended you, I'm not afraid of gossip. Caroline, you've been abroad for a few years, why so insecure?"

"I'm just afraid of tarnishing your reputation."

"As long as you work hard and get your professorship soon, my reputation will be fine."

Caroline felt a warmth in her heart. "Ms. Allen, don't worry, I'll work twice as hard!"

"By the way, how's your tour going?"

Caroline didn't hide anything and shared her plans.

"You're still young. Touring now is very beneficial," Melissa advised.

Caroline said, "I want to spend a few years with my child and wait until she's older."

Melissa remembered something. "Is it your child with Nicholas?"
