Chapter 525 Busy with Something

"Hey Mom, check this out." Daisy shoved her phone at Mia.

Ever since she got knocked up, her emotions were all over the place, and she’d start bawling at the drop of a hat.

Daisy was doing her best not to keep bugging Caroline.

But damn, Caroline had the nerve to go out to dinner with Nicholas, like, openly. Daisy was fuming inside.

They looked like one big happy family.

Caroline had swiped all the warmth that was supposed to be hers.

Mia’s face twisted too, and she gritted her teeth. "What a shameless bitch!"

"Daisy, chill. Once you pop that baby out, I'll find a way to deal with her."

Right now, Mia had to keep a close eye on Daisy’s pregnancy, making sure nothing went wrong. Everything else had to wait.

Daisy was still super pissed.

Ever since she got pregnant, nothing was going her way.

First, Nicholas publicly set the record straight about their relationship, and then she wasn’t the sole heiress of the Wolf family anymore.

And all this crap started because of Caroline.

It was Caroline who stole Nicholas, and it was Caroline who donated bone marrow to Diana, saving her life.

Daisy thought, 'Caroline, it’s all Caroline’s fault!'

Daisy gripped the edge of her clothes tightly, like she was trying to crush Caroline.

After a bit, Daisy’s face twisted as she touched her belly.

Grinding her teeth, Daisy thought, 'I won’t let Caroline get away with this, no way!'

After dinner, Nicholas dropped Caroline off at home, and then Caroline kept her promise to give him a massage.

Josie had already hit the sack, and Lisa had gone to her room, leaving just Caroline and Nicholas in the living room.

Caroline poured some of Simon’s special oil onto her hands, rubbed them together, and then placed her palms on Nicholas’s thigh.

Nicholas felt nothing.

It was only after half an hour of massaging that he’d feel a slight sensation.

Caroline was super focused, pressing the acupuncture points just like Simon had taught her.

After forty minutes, Nicholas’s legs felt better than the day before, and his blood seemed to warm up.

Caroline went to wash her hands and saw it was getting late.

She was about to tell him to leave when Nicholas suddenly spoke in a low voice, "Come here."

Caroline walked over.

Nicholas took her hand, turned it over, and looked at her palm carefully, which was slightly red.

His Adam’s apple bobbed up and down.

"Do you really want my legs to get better?"

"Yes," Caroline answered without a second thought.

Nicholas suddenly got choked up, and when he looked up at her, his eyes were filled with joy.

Caroline was stunned.

After a minute, Nicholas said seriously, "I’ll actively cooperate with the treatment."

"Starting tomorrow, you don’t need to do it."

Caroline said calmly, "Didn’t you say you weren’t used to others..."

"I can get used to Sharpe and Paul."

He couldn’t stand seeing her work so hard every day.

"Okay."

Chloe got sick, causing a scramble in the Browns, and Celeste couldn’t sleep well.

She had a dream where her daughter kept questioning her.

But when she woke up, she couldn’t remember the details of the dream, just the overwhelming guilt and how sorry she felt for her deceased daughter.

As a result, Celeste got sick.

Jennifer stayed home to take care of Celeste and didn’t go to Fusion Dynamics Corporation.

The doctor came to the house to see Celeste, diagnosing her with a high fever caused by worry and anger.

Jennifer brought water to help Celeste take her medicine, and Celeste obediently swallowed it.

She lay there, looking pale and weak.

"Mom, get some rest." Jennifer was about to leave when Celeste suddenly grabbed her hand.

"Mom, what's up?" Jennifer sat back down.

Celeste's head was heavy with fever, but her mind was sharp.

"Jennifer, what do you think of Patricia?"

Jennifer was thrown off by the question. She thought for a moment, "Patricia has her flaws, but that's on the Browns. They spoiled her."

"Mom, don't beat yourself up. Just keep Patricia away from the Browns from now on."

Celeste wanted to shake her head but didn't have the strength.

"Do you think she looks like anyone from the Blackwoods?"

Jennifer was even more puzzled.

That was a tough one.

Patricia was Susan's kid. Even if she didn't look like the Blackwoods, she might take after the Kellys.

But the Kellys were gone, and they had no clue what they looked like.

Jennifer thought Patricia looked more like the Browns.

"Forget it. You can go." Celeste closed her eyes.

Jennifer tucked her in and got up to leave.

Jennifer was still puzzled, thinking, 'Is Celeste really that upset by Patricia's lies?'

She frowned. Celeste was old and not in great health. Despite being so mad at Patricia, Celeste was lucky to only have a cold.

If Celeste got seriously ill... Jennifer changed her clothes, gave some instructions to the housekeeper, and then left with her bag.

She headed to The Lancaster Manor.

It was drizzling, and the cold wind stung her cheeks.

Sophia was cozy inside, playing with the three kids.

When she heard Jennifer had arrived, she quickly had her brought in.

Jennifer took off her coat and changed her shoes after coming in.

"Jennifer."

Emma ran over, and Jennifer picked her up and kissed her.

Jennifer got straight to the point. "Sophie, Celeste is sick. She's been asking about you. Do you want to go see her?"

Sophia asked nervously, "Is Celeste really sick?"

"She has a bit of a fever. The doctor saw her, and she's taken her meds and fallen asleep."

Sophia breathed a sigh of relief.

"I'll go with you to see her."

Jennifer was worried Sophia wouldn't want to go, which is why she came in person instead of calling.

Right now, the only thing that could comfort Celeste was probably Sophia.

"Mommy, we want to see Grandma Blackwood too."

"Okay, you can all come with me." Jennifer smiled.

Maybe having the three little ones around would help Celeste get better faster.

Ruth also wanted to visit Celeste when she heard she was sick, but the weather was awful, so Sophia convinced her to stay home for her own health.

Ruth pulled Sophia aside. "If you see Patricia and she messes with you again, fight back. Don't be scared. I've got your back."

Sophia's voice trembled. "Okay, thanks, Grandma."

On the way, Sophia asked for more details about Celeste's condition.

Jennifer said, "Celeste was talking a bit weird today. Maybe she's just out of it from being sick."

It started to snow, mixing with the rain, making the roads even trickier.

For safety, Jennifer drove really slowly.

By the time they got home, the rain had stopped, and snowflakes filled the sky.

Soon, a layer of white snow covered the ground.

The three kids were bundled up tight.

Once inside, the warmth quickly chased away the cold.

"Are David and Colin not here?" Sophia asked curiously.

"Yeah, they seem to be busy with something lately."
