Chapter 394 Moving Out

Paul leaned against the car, playing a game on his phone.

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Nicholas coming out and quickly shut it off.

"Nicholas, how's Caroline?" he asked with a grin.

Nicholas' look said it all.

"Aren't you getting in?" Nicholas asked, noticing Paul hadn't moved.

"I've got something to do," Paul replied a bit sheepishly.

Nicholas knew Paul was probably off to have some fun again, so he reminded Paul, "Make sure to call your mom when you get a chance."

"Got it," Paul waved him off.

After Nicholas brought Josie home, Josie felt uneasy. The adults weren't around, and she had no idea what Daisy would do once she got back to Caroline. She also didn't know what Nicholas would do. She really wanted to go back to Caroline.

When Nicholas returned, he went straight to Josie's room and saw her curled up in the corner of the bed. His heart ached.

"Josie."

"Dad." Josie immediately looked up when she heard Nicholas' voice.

"Pack your things and come with me."

"Okay."

Josie pulled out a small suitcase and obediently packed her clothes, books, and toys.

Half an hour later, Charles was carrying two suitcases, Sharpe was pushing Nicholas, and Josie was holding Nicholas' hand, following beside him.

Mary asked anxiously, "Mr. Watson, where are you taking Josie?"

Nicholas ignored Mary, and she didn't dare to stop him. She could only watch as Nicholas took Josie away from the Watson family.

In the car, Nicholas waved Josie over and hugged her.

"Do you know who your mom is now?"

Josie nodded.

"Do you like her?" Nicholas was referring to Caroline.

Josie nodded again.

The weight in Nicholas's heart quietly lifted. He had always been afraid to tell Josie about her background, fearing she wouldn't accept it. After all, Josie was still young, and any child would be traumatized to learn that the mom they had always called wasn't their real mom.

Now that Josie had so easily accepted Caroline, it was clear that the bond between mother and daughter was strong.

"Would you like to live with me from now on?" Nicholas looked at Josie gently, his eyes full of hope.

If Josie hadn't been so dependent on Daisy before, he would have taken her away from the Watson family long ago.

"What about Mom?" Josie asked.

"Caroline is injured and still recovering in the hospital. Once she's better, I'll find a way for her to live with us, too."

Josie smiled and hugged Nicholas' arm.

"Okay, I'll live with Dad."

Nicholas was great, and Caroline was great too. Now, she would have a wonderful dad and mom. Josie suddenly felt very happy.

Nicholas had already had the Morning Hill Villa cleaned up, and the housekeeper had made some late-night snacks. After eating, Josie was so tired she could barely keep her eyes open.

On the first night, Nicholas was worried Josie wouldn't be used to it, so he stayed with her.

The next day, Paul called.

"Nicholas, I have to go back to Country Y for a bit. Take good care of Caroline."

Paul didn't say what was going on, and his tone was light. He hung up before Nicholas could respond.

But even if Paul didn't say, Nicholas knew. Paul had taken Nicholas' advice to heart and must have called Ashley, which led to his decision to go back.

At that moment, Paul was already at the airport. Unlike his usual carefree self, he sat seriously in the waiting area.

"That bastard Joseph dared to lay a hand on my mom!" Paul fumed.

Last night, Paul had gone to a party with friends and drank quite a bit. His friends had to take him home. Seeing how his friend's mom cared for him, Paul thought of Ashley and remembered Nicholas' advice to call her.

So, Paul called Ashley. He could tell something was off in her voice, but no matter how he asked, Ashley wouldn't say. She just told him to have fun and come back when he was done.

Paul liked to have fun, but he wasn't stupid. After hanging up, he sobered up halfway. He called the housekeeper and found out that because of the mistress, Ashley and Joseph had another big fight. This time, Joseph had pushed Ashley, and she got hurt.

Paul boarded the plane in anger. After sitting down, he looked at a magazine, his eyes narrowing slightly, a glint flashing through them, and a charming smile appeared on his handsome face. Before the plane took off, he sent a message on his phone.

In the afternoon, Aragorn and the others finally returned. However, as soon as they got home, Mary frantically told them that Nicholas had moved out with Josie. The continuous travel had left the three of them exhausted, and Aragorn, looking particularly pale, fainted after hearing Mary's words. His health had always been poor, and he had been undergoing treatment. The wedding preparations and the trip abroad for Nicholas had taken a toll on him. The Watson family was in chaos.

Sophia received flowers again. With everything that had happened recently, Sophia had been busy and worried about Caroline. Receiving flowers at this time warmed her heart. There was still a note from Mr. A to Miss S. This time, the flowers were sunflowers.

Mr. A: [You are like the sun, shining on everyone around you. Remember, you also need to be your own sun.]

Sophia smiled, holding the flowers happily. Just then, her phone rang. It was a message from Jake.

Jake: [Sophia, I'm back. Can I come over for dinner?]

Sophia: [Sure, but you'll have to wait until the weekend.]

Jake: [Why? Did something happen?]

Sophia: [Caroline was in a car accident and is in the hospital.]

Jake: [Which hospital? I'll go with you to see her.]

Sophia agreed, and after work, Jake came to the Lancaster Group. Today, he was dressed stylishly and handsomely, standing at the entrance of the Lancaster Group, catching the attention of everyone leaving work. Sophia was going to head straight to the parking lot, but since Jake came to pick her up, she walked out of the main entrance.

"I'm here." Jake waved at her.

Sophia walked over. "I drove here. Why did you come to pick me up?"

"I've never picked you up from work before. I had some free time today, so let me do it."

Sophia was speechless. "Let's go."

Sophia got into Jake's car. Not far away, Harrison rubbed his eyes, thinking he was seeing things. He thought, 'Sophia gets into another man's car? And that man looks pretty good! Gabriel has a rival!'

At the hospital, Jake pretended to visit Caroline, but Caroline could see his true intentions. She didn't expose him, and when it was time, Jake drove Sophia home. Sophia noticed he was taking the wrong route and corrected him, "Taking the other road would be faster."

Jake said, "That road is three miles away from Blue End."

Sophia was surprised and said, "Didn't you know I moved?"

"What?"
