Chapter 63 The Kind with the Greatest Side Effects

Gabriel was looking at stocks when he briefly glanced at Tiffany and continued to stare at the computer screen.

Since that day, they hadn't seen each other or spoken for two days.

Tiffany couldn't stand it any longer and took the initiative to find Gabriel.

She knew that making Gabriel yield was impossible. He was too proud of a man, and even if she was the person he liked, he wouldn't easily back down.

So, she had to be the one to approach him.

"Gabriel~" Tiffany blinked her eyes, feeling a bit wronged.

Gabriel closed the stock interface and clasped his hands together, resting them on his chin. His deep gaze met Tiffany's eyes, his voice heavy, "Have you thought it through?"

"Gabriel, I won't leave you. I love you, really love you," Tiffany declared affectionately, wishing she could throw herself into Gabriel's arms.

Gabriel was also somewhat moved. A woman who willingly stayed by his side for over five years, he knew her sincerity was genuine.

"I'm not sure when my illness will get better. Continuing like this will only hold you back. Have you thought it through?" Gabriel asked her the same question again.

"I have thought it through. I willingly stay by your side, even if it means accompanying you for a lifetime of treatment."

"But I can't fulfill your desire to have children," Gabriel knew Tiffany had always wanted to have a child.

"With medical advancements these days, we can try...in-vitro fertilization," Tiffany's voice grew quieter. She knew Gabriel wouldn't agree.

Sure enough, Gabriel sternly refused in the next second.

"What I mean is, I don't want to have another child."

He wasn't a competent father. He couldn't make Sam grow up healthy and happy like a normal child. He already regretted and felt guilty enough; he didn't want to repeat the same mistake with Sam.

His energy was limited, and he could only give all his love to his only son, Sam.

"I understand," Tiffany clenched the hand at her side tightly, her face becoming somewhat pale.

If only she had secretly gotten rid of Sam back, then!

Or even better, if she had strangled him.

Now, Gabriel refused to have another child for his sake.

Then how could she enter the doors of the Lancaster family with a child? How could she make her child inherit everything from the Lancaster family?

Tiffany was seething with anger, her head spinning. She struggled to keep her expression from revealing anything.

"I won't bring up having a child again in the future, Gabriel. I truly consider Sam as my own, and I really can't live without you. From now on, I'll obediently stay by your side, and I'll do everything possible to cure your illness."

Gabriel's gaze grew even deeper. He didn't say anything heartless, but he still warned Tiffany, "There shouldn't be a second time like that day."

Tiffany's pupils dilated. He knew something was wrong with that glass of water?

She didn't ask and dared not say much more. She lowered her head, her voice low, "I understand, you're busy, I'll go to the studio first. I don't have anything to do this afternoon, I'll go pick up Sam, and we can go out for dinner tonight."

Gabriel responded with a noncommittal "Mm."

Shortly after being together with Gabriel, Tiffany opened her own psychotherapy office.

However, she rarely saw patients and instead focused on being Gabriel's exclusive psychotherapist. There were a few other psychologists in the office who handled most of the patients.

This psychotherapy office was a venture that Gabriel invested in to help Tiffany, and he never asked for a cent of the profits earned. All of the income went straight to Tiffany, who then transferred half of it to Alfred's account.

When Tiffany arrived, Alfred was already waiting for her in her office.

Officially, the office belonged solely to Tiffany, but in reality, she had already reached a cooperation agreement with Alfred, who held half of the shares.

Otherwise, relying solely on Tiffany, the office wouldn't have been able to achieve such success.

"What did you call me here for?" Alfred asked straight to the point.

"I want you to prescribe medication for Sam."

Alfred looked at her with surprise in his eyes. "Why?"

"Don't worry about that. Just do as I say. And don't forget, we're in this together. Helping me is helping yourself."

"Now isn't the right time. Sam's condition has been improving recently. If I randomly give him medication, it will make Gabriel suspicious. And you know well enough how sensitive he is."

Alfred rejected Tiffany with a frown.

"Don't worry about that. I'll find a way to worsen Sam's condition. You just need to prepare the medication, and remember, it needs to have the strongest side effects."

The venom in Tiffany's voice as she said the last sentence made Alfred involuntarily feel a sense of astonishment: a woman's heart is indeed treacherous!

"Same as before, make Sophia the scapegoat?"

"Of course!" Tiffany's innocent face in front of Gabriel was now distorted and terrifying, filled with malice and scheming.

Sophia must be made the one responsible for Sam's severe autism. Only then can Gabriel stop Sophia from seeing Sam, and they will become enemies, with no chance of reconciliation.

Not to mention discovering the truth from years ago.

...

When Alex came to deliver the medicated wine for injuries, everyone in the department watched. As the biggest favorite around boss, he naturally attracted attention wherever he went.

"I noticed you were limping yesterday. Boss said you sprained your foot. This medicated wine was purchased for you from out of town, it's very effective. You should give it a try."

He truly didn't understand why the boss didn't just give it directly if he wanted to send it. Instead, he had to do it on his behalf.

"I'm already much better," Sophia didn't expect Zhao's assistant to be so kind and thoughtful.

"Take it. Apply it tonight, and you won't feel any pain tomorrow."

Alex placed the medicinal wine on her table and glanced at the time. "I have things to attend to, so I'll leave first," he said before Sophia could even thank him. And just like that, Alex had already run off.

Curious gazes from everyone fell upon Sophia.

Larry, the gossip enthusiast, immediately leaned in. "So, Sophia, you still know Assistant Zhao? He personally came to deliver the medicine to you. How nice of him!"

Sophia put away the medicinal wine and replied irritably, "Stop guessing randomly. Zhao and I were classmates before. I happened to run into him after work yesterday, and since he knew I sprained my foot, he brought me some effective medicine to try."

She couldn't understand why Alex suddenly treated her so well. To explain it, she had to fabricate being classmates.

"Fine," Larry thought to himself. With Sophia's qualities, it was only natural for Assistant Zhao to like her.

Sophia was beautiful, skilled in design, confident, and competent—an impressive career woman. Larry's eyes lit up the first time he saw her.

If he didn't already have his goddess in his heart, he would definitely be the first one pursuing Sophia.

Unaware of Alex's appearance, Sophia found herself in the center of gossip once again, especially Fiona, who was so jealous that she could almost grind her teeth to dust.

Margaret valuing her was one thing, but for Assistant Zhao to treat her so well too, no wonder Tiffany said she was manipulative.

Indeed, she had her ways!

The medicine Alex gave her was truly effective. After applying it the night before, her foot wasn't as painful the next day.

In the morning, Ethan and Emma suddenly both had diarrhea. Under Sophia's questioning, the two kids admitted to secretly eating a lot of spicy snacks last night.
