Chapter 199 Playing Out of Turn

Sophia hadn't expected things to be resolved so quickly. She thought Tiffany would step in to save Fiona.
If Gabriel tolerated Fiona's presence in the company for Tiffany's sake, Sophia would have to resort to extreme measures to make Fiona pay the price.
And to make Tiffany and Gabriel bleed a bit too.
Now that the issue was resolved so easily, it saved her some trouble.
As for the five designers, they started packing their stuff with gloomy faces after they came out of Margaret's office. They were now regretting it so much that it hurt. If they had known they would really have to resign, they would never have written the resignation letter to force the leaders to bring out the assessment rules.
How had they united to write a resignation letter accusing Sophia of nepotism and blaming the company for being unfair?
Initially, everyone said that Sophia's clothes sold well because she had found rich people to brush sales. Then they said that Sophia not only had a relationship with Harrison but also had an affair with many high-ranking shareholders, so the company strongly recommended her to participate in the competition.
Everyone was discussing it indignantly, saying the company was unfair, and then someone suggested they report it to their superiors. Junior and middle-level designers didn't have much say, so their senior designers took the lead.
After some discussion, they decided that the five senior designers with more experience would write a resignation letter together, indirectly putting pressure on the leaders.
Designers were the crux of the entire clothing department. If five senior designers leave at once, it would be an immeasurable loss to the company.
The five were confident, and their goal was indeed achieved. Although they lost the assessment, they were dissatisfied but dared not make trouble anymore.
However, reality dealt them a fatal blow. As the five were packing their things, they finally understood how ruthless Mr. Lancaster was and how his authority was not to be challenged.
Sophia glanced at them a few times and then quietly walked into Margaret's office.
"I knew you would win this assessment. These people have been spoiled by Mr. Lancaster, and your ability is not weaker than theirs. They have prejudices against you just because you were a junior when you first came in." Margaret was getting more and more upset as she spoke, suddenly feeling that their resignation wasn't a bad thing. After the national clothing competition ended, she could contact a headhunting company and get in touch with a few more excellent designers to bring fresh blood to the company. "What's the matter? You were looking for me?" Margaret only remembered after she finished her tirade that Sophia hadn't said anything yet.
Sophia smiled, "Can they stay?"
Margaret looked at her deeply, "Do you want to plead for them?" It was not good to repay evil with kindness. Others may not remember your kindness, and besides, Sophia was not such a saintly person.
At first, Margaret just thought Sophia had strong design skills and admired her. After getting to know her, she found that Sophia's heart was also very strong. Fiona targeted her so much, and even the company spread a lot of rumors about her, but she remained unflappable and composed, as if nothing had happened. If it were someone else, they might have resigned and left in frustration.
Sophia said, "Sort of. Since I came in, everyone seems to have a bad impression of me. I don't know how I offended them. The resignation of these five people may not be a good thing for me." Other people will only think that she was even more difficult to mess with, that she had a powerful backing. The rumors would be even more rampant, and she would be even less able to clear her name.
Might as well do her best to plead, it was best if they could stay. As for whether they would appreciate her pleading, she didn't care. There was no point in proving them wrong if there was no one to witness it.
After hearing her say that, Margaret felt it made sense. Sophia doing this benefited her greatly and did no harm. The five of them would definitely appreciate Sophia, and they would never attack Sophia again, and even help Sophia build up good karma.
But... "This matter was decided by Mr. Lancaster. I can't decide whether they stay or leave, but you can go to Harrison and try."
Sophia didn't want to bother about it, but she didn't expect Gabriel to get involved in this matter. She pondered for a while. "Okay, I'll go ask Harrison." After Sophia came out, she called Harrison on her phone.
Harrison was not at the company. Sophia simply explained the situation in a few words over the phone. Harrison hesitated for a few seconds, then stuttered. "I can't handle this. Gabriel personally approved it; I can't do anything about it. You can only go to Gabriel. Gabriel is in the office now, so if you have time, go to his office to find him. If not, you can mention it when you go to the hospital to see Grandma."
Do she really have to find Gabriel to solve this? Sophia quickly decided, "Oh, forget it, anyway, I'm not familiar with them."
Harrison was stunned by the sound of the phone hanging up. Sophia was incredibly unpredictable. "Gabriel, I've fought for you, but she doesn’t seem to even want to see you." Harrison shook his head helplessly.
Sophia went to the bathroom and when she came out, all five people were standing next to her office. Sophia was startled, they weren't going to cause her trouble, were they?
One of them saw her come back and said guiltily, "I'm sorry Sophia; we had a lot of misunderstandings about you before, so we did this." The others echoed, "We were wrong; we're sorry, and we hope you can forgive us."
Sophia was dumbfounded, so they were here to apologize? This made her a little embarrassed. Sophia chuckled, "It's not a big deal." Anyway, they were all leaving.
"We heard from Margaret that you went to Harrison to plead for us."
Huh? Sophia had a bad feeling. Sure enough, they looked at her with hopeful eyes, like hungry little animals.
Sophia felt awkward. She didn't really try her best. Harrison said no, and she just gave up. She didn't expect to be tricked by Margaret. She looked at Margaret's office with a grievance.
"I'm sorry, Harrison said this was decided by Mr. Lancaster, and asked me to go to Mr. Lancaster. You all know how ruthless Mr. Lancaster is, and how harsh and tricky he is when he scolds people. I dare not go to him."
The five could understand. Mr. Lancaster's aura was too strong; they didn't dare to say more to Mr. Lancaster when they met him at the company. But wasn't Sophia afraid that her thoughts on Mr. Lancaster’s ruthlessness would reach his ears?
"Thank you for pleading for us despite our previous grievances." One of them said gratefully. "You're welcome, if possible, I still hope to continue to be colleagues with you." After exchanging a few words, the five went to process their resignation procedures in disappointment and resignation.
