Chapter 67 Reunion with Mommy

The place Sophia took Sam to was a parent-child painting training class. She said something to the teacher, and the teacher quickly agreed to let her bring Sam in.

Outside, Alex and David were standing guard. Alex watched Sophia's devoted efforts for Sam and couldn't help but feel that Sophia truly cared for him.

He immediately sent a message to the boss, editing it as he went.

Gabriel was in the midst of negotiations when he saw his phone light up. Normally focused, he couldn't help but be distracted and opened WeChat. When he read Alex's report about Sophia taking Sam to the painting training class, his brows raised slightly, and the tension in his cold face eased somewhat.

"Mr. Lancaster, what do you think?" Even though he was the client, he felt inferior to Gabriel's imposing presence, and inadvertently became more cautious.

Gabriel took the contract and flipped through it.

"The price is too low, it can't be done."

"Then, please suggest a price." This client was truly at a loss, but there was nothing he could do. Who made Lancaster have the skills? If he wanted a high-quality product, he had to turn to Lancaster.

Gabriel raised three fingers, causing the other party to furrow their brows tightly. This was too expensive.

After thinking for a while, they gritted their teeth.

"Alright."

...

Sophia, as a designer, drew design drafts every day, so her painting skills were also top-notch. However, when she saw Sam's drawing, she was still stunned.

She had learned from Harrison that Sam liked painting, but she had no idea he was this talented.

The teacher walked over and his eyes lit up when he saw Sam's drawing.

"The child is very talented. Have they learned before?"

Little Sam remained silent and continued drawing as if he hadn't heard.

Sophia chuckled awkwardly. "Yes, he has learned before."

"Would they be interested in participating in a competition?" The child was serious, and the teacher didn't find it disturbing at all. On the contrary, they were excited and didn't want to miss this talent.

"Um, that may not be possible. The child is introverted and doesn't like to participate in competitions. Thank you for your kind offer, though." Sophia politely declined.

The teacher chatted with her a bit more, praising Sam's excellence. As Sam's loving mother, Sophia couldn't be prouder.

Meanwhile, the two adults whispered to each other without disturbing Sam, who was completely focused. In no time, he finished his painting.

The teacher looked at it and furrowed his brows slightly. "It's well-drawn, but it's a bit melancholic."

He couldn't help but glance at Sam a few more times. This child was indeed introverted. After saying a few more words, the teacher went to look at other children's drawings.

Sophia thought it was normal for Sam's drawing to be somewhat melancholic since he was already sick. With a smile on her face, she pointed at the painting.

"Can this painting be given to Auntie? Auntie really likes it and wants to hang it at home to see it every day."

Sam turned his head, his clear and bright eyes reflecting Sophia's radiant smile. As if being infected by her, Sam's calm inner world stirred slightly, and he...
Sophia smiled happily as she waited for the painting to dry, then carefully rolled up the one she secretly drew. "Auntie also made a painting for you. You can open it and see when you go back," she said. Sam glanced at her deeply and eventually took it from her.

The mother and son spent their painting time quickly, and before they knew it, it was already noon. Sophia took Sam to have lunch. She already knew Sam's preferences, so she ordered dishes that he liked. But she didn't order too much since they couldn't finish it all anyway.

After the dishes were served, Sophia busily served food to Sam. David and Alex sat opposite them, eating together. "Why aren't you eating?" Sophia didn't give him much, and she even used public chopsticks. Sam remained motionless, his gaze fixed on Sophia.

Sophia gently smiled and touched her own face. "Is there something dirty on my face?" Sam shook his head lightly and then picked up his chopsticks to start eating.

After eating with Ethan and Emma twice, Sam remembered what Emma said - he needed to eat heartily to enjoy the food. So he started devouring his meal. Sophia was surprised, wondering what happened to the little guy today, changing his eating style like this. Alex was also astonished.

He had seen the young master eat before, gracefully and slowly, taking small bites. But today, Sam displayed an air of devouring food, yet even while eating heartily, he still exuded an innate sense of nobility and elegance.

When he finished what was in his bowl, Sophia happily served him more food. However, Sam suddenly expressed that he didn't want to eat the vegetables. He gestured, saying, "I want to eat rice in soup." Sophia could now mostly understand sign language, and she froze for a moment. Emma also liked rice in soup. She hadn't expected the two children to have a shared favorite.

Sam ended up eating two bowls of rice, his belly becoming bloated. Time passed by in the blink of an eye. Sophia was reluctant to part with Sam, so they sat in a small park, while Alex and David waited nearby next to the car.

"Sam, how is that Tiffany treating you?" Sophia held him tightly, remembering when Tiffany injured his hand. Sam blinked his eyes but remained silent. Sophia hugged him even tighter. "If she bullies you, you must tell me. I will protect you."

He was her child. If Tiffany dared to bully him, she would fight tooth and nail to give Tiffany a good beating. When it was time, Sophia went to the training class to pick up Ethan and Emma after saying goodbye to Sam.

Sam returned to the old house, seeming in a good mood. Mrs. Lancaster couldn't be happier when she saw her great-grandson with a joyful expression on his face. He was getting better and better. Sam went back to his room and opened the painting Sophia gave him. It was a sketch depicting him snuggling in Sophia's arms.

Sam watched the painting in astonishment.

He recalled the feeling when Sophia held him, just like he was snuggled in his mommy's arms.
Suddenly, Sam missed his mommy.

Why did his biological mother abandon him?

He truly envied Ethan and Emma for having such a wonderful mommy, growing up happily by her side.

He really wanted a mommy.

Sam squatted by the bed, hugging his knees, fragile like a delicate porcelain doll.

In the middle of the night, Sam suddenly had a stomachache. He checked the time and it was already 1 am. He didn't dare to wake everyone up or disturb his daddy's rest, so he endured it forcefully, sweating and curled up in bed.

He thought it would be alright if he endured it for a little bit, but as time went on, the pain became worse and worse.

At that moment, he suddenly wondered if he should go and meet his mommy.

He heard that mommy went to heaven. Could he also go to heaven to reunite with his mommy?

Would mommy like him?

Would she dislike him for not speaking?

Sam was in so much pain that he eventually lost consciousness.

Early in the morning, the Lancaster family was in chaos. Mrs. Lancaster was so worried that tears streamed down her face. Leaning on her cane, she shakily followed and got into the car to go to the hospital.
