Chapter 352 Emma's Sleeping Precautions

David successfully purchased the ancestral land.

The moment he obtained the deed, he took Jennifer to see it.

The house remained as David remembered, though time had rendered it dilapidated.

David nostalgically pointed to the yard, saying, "Here, my father once built a swing for Susan."

Now, the swing was gone, and so was Susan.

Jennifer had met and married David abroad, and this was her first visit to the Blackwood family's ancestral home.

Once home to individuals of prominence and influence, this locale has witnessed a transformation over time. Many traditional residences have given way to opulent villas and upscale housing, alongside the emergence of modern office complexes.

"When Susan was born, I sat on this very stone waiting," David said, looking at the large, dark stone.

The stone was still there.

Jennifer held David's hand.

"We should hurry and find someone to rebuild the house. We have to fly back tomorrow."

"Alright."

David and Jennifer stayed there for half an hour, then went to a construction company. They had finalized the reconstruction plan within half a day.

In the evening, they went to Sophia's house for dinner. Sophia was quite reluctant to see them leave for Country M the next day.

Jennifer held Sophia's hand and said gently, "Once we leave tomorrow, you'll be all alone."

She had just accepted a goddaughter, and before they could even develop their relationship, they had to part ways.

If only Sophia were in Country M.

Then, she would have Sophia accompany her on shopping trips.

Compared to her niece Patricia, Jennifer preferred going shopping with Sophia.

"Once I have some more free time, I'll for sure drop by your place and say hi to Madam as well.," Sophia said.

If it weren't for the custody being in Gabriel's hands, Sophia would have taken the children to Country M long ago.

"Sophia, do you blame me for not choosing you to join Fusion Dynamics Corporation?" Jennifer looked deeply at Sophia.

Sophia shook her head without hesitation.

"You've got your ways of choosing folks. Even though I'm your goddaughter now, it's fair that you don't show me any favoritism when it comes to business. I can't hold it against you.."

Although Sophia was disappointed not to join Fusion Dynamics Corporation, she understood and accepted the outcome gracefully.

If that was the case, it only meant she wasn't excellent enough.

Jennifer patted her hand reassuringly.

"I knew I wasn't wrong about you, Sophia. I have other reasons for not choosing you, and I'm glad you don't blame me."

"No, don't worry."

Jennifer grew even fonder of Sophia.

If she had chosen Sophia to join Fusion Dynamics Corporation for training, Sophia would inevitably have to be separated from her three children.

Sophia had previously relapsed into depression and nearly lost her life.

Jennifer thought that if they were separated for too long, she worried that Sophia and the children wouldn't be able to handle it.

It was better to wait.

Waited until Fusion Dynamics Corporation had relocated back to the country, and then let Sophia join for training.

Given the opportunity, she aspired to cultivate Sophia in a profound manner. Nevertheless, Jennifer refrained from disclosing these intentions to Sophia at the present moment. Prior to that, she deemed it essential to confer with Madam, who held the utmost authority within Fusion Dynamics Corporation.

Gabriel had some matters to attend to tonight and happened to run into David and Jennifer as they were leaving.

"Mr. Blackwood."

David nodded in greeting.

Seeing Gabriel, Jennifer pulled Sophia aside and whispered, "If Gabriel bullies you, you must tell us. I'll have David deal with him."

"David has a lot of influence in Country M and quite a few connections here, too, so don't be afraid."

"Thank you, Godmother." Sophia felt very fortunate. This sense of having a strong backing made her feel as if her parents were still around.

Her parents protected her in every way, and she hardly suffered any hardships growing up.

After seeing David and Jennifer off, Sophia prepared to go inside.

"Where are the children?"

Hearing Gabriel's voice, she stopped.

"They're inside."

"I'll go see them."

Gabriel strode towards Sophia's side of the house. Sophia wanted to stop him, but he was quick and had already gone in.

The children were sitting on the carpet assembling a robot while Emma was holding an iPad and looking at her game account equipment.

Hearing the noise, Emma quickly exited the game interface.

Gabriel chuckled and squatted down, saying, "Come back with me, and you can play as long as you want."

Emma's eyes lit up, but then she looked up and saw Sophia.

Torn between the game and Sophia, Emma hesitated for a long time.

She thought, 'It should be okay to choose the game just for today, right? I could still sleep with Mommy tomorrow.'

'Tonight, I would sleep with Daddy. Ethan, Sam, and I were with Mommy every day, and Daddy was all alone.'

"Mommy, I want to sleep with Daddy tonight. Is that okay?" Emma asked cautiously.

If Sophia disagreed, she wouldn't go.

Sophia was silent. For a moment, a feeling of having her child taken away surfaced, but she quickly suppressed it.

She couldn't deprive the children of their time with Gabriel.

The children had already missed five years of fatherly love. Now that they had reunited with Gabriel, they should receive that love.

"Okay," Sophia replied.

Ethan said, "I'll sleep with Mommy tonight!"

He didn't want to sleep with that bad guy Gabriel.

Sam looked at Gabriel and then at Sophia, unable to decide.

"Sam, you stay with Mommy and Ethan." Emma decided for him and counted on her fingers. "Tomorrow, Sam will stay with Daddy. The day after, Ethan will stay with Daddy."

Ethan was speechless.

Emma changed her attitude toward that bad guy, Gabriel, too quickly.

Gabriel took Emma back to the next room, and Emma immediately rushed into her streaming room.

Ethan and Sam returned to their room and turned on the stream, and sure enough, they saw Emma streaming.

The brothers exchanged a knowing look.

Emma only streamed for half an hour before logging off.

Emma went to take a bath, and Ethan came over to the next room, entering directly with his fingerprint.

Gabriel was sitting on the sofa with a laptop, handling emails. Seeing Ethan come in, he raised an eyebrow in surprise.

Ethan had a serious expression and said,

"Emma kicks off her blanket while sleeping. You need to be vigilant and cover her up."

"Sometimes she wakes up in the middle of the night, and in her daze, she might bump into walls. You need to watch her."

"If she has a nightmare, she'll cry. You need to hold her and tell her it's just a dream, that it won't come true, that it's all fake."

Ethan, worried about Emma, listed many precautions for her sleep.

In fact, Gabriel already knew these things, but since Ethan was telling him, he listened attentively.

"Alright, I've noted everything."

Ethan stood there, his delicate brows furrowed.

"Is there anything else?" Gabriel put down his laptop and walked over.

Ethan took out a phone, unlocked it, and handed it to Gabriel.

Gabriel took it with a puzzled look, and when he saw the content on the screen, his pupils contracted sharply, and his entire demeanor became instantly fierce.

His thumb swiped across the screen a few times.
