Chapter 66 Setting a Small Goal

No matter what Ethan and Emma said, Sam refused to say a word except for calling them by their nicknames. Ethan and Emma tacitly set a new small goal: to make Sam talk more!

But regardless, Sam had already taken the first step. The three children played around in the private room, and Sam took out three iPads. Emma taught Sam how to play games, while Ethan wanted to teach Sam programming.

Sam was dragged around by them, but he didn't feel annoyed. On the contrary, he was very happy.

Sophia was busy with the new product launch, and her lunch break was taken away by work. In the afternoon, when she saw Larry coming back to work, she glanced at him.

"Weren't you supposed to go see your goddess? Why do you look so down?"

Speaking of his goddess, Larry looked even more dispirited.

"I'm disillusioned." He slumped onto a chair, his face filled with sorrow, as if his girlfriend had run away with someone.

"What happened?" Sophia, busy as she was, still cared enough to ask.

"Sophia sis, I need some comfort. I didn't expect my goddess to be underage!"

"Ha..." Charlotte couldn't help but laugh.

Larry looked at her with resentment, and Charlotte apologized with a smile before lowering her head to continue with her own work.

Sophia put down the documents in her hand and turned to face Larry.

"But aren't those professional players underage too? It's normal for your goddess to be underage."

Otherwise, how could she be called the gaming genius girl?

"But she's too young," Larry said. She was only five and a half years old!

"Alright, alright. You're not young either, so stop thinking about robbing the cradle."

"Oh, you sure know how to comfort me," Larry rolled his eyes.

He had never thought about pursuing his goddess; it was just that the age difference was too big for him to accept all of a sudden.

But that admiration men have towards gaming geniuses doesn't fade away. He still admired Emma Bao, and he wouldn't miss any of her game live streams in the future.

Seeing Larry still looking dejected, Sophia lightly patted his shoulder.

"If it doesn't work out, just wait until she's of age and make your move."

Larry thought to himself that he would have to wait until he's bald and pot-bellied before he could make a move on Emma Bao.

A greasy man and a little loli, the more he thought about it, the more nauseating it became.

But just because he wasn't interested, didn't mean others weren't interested. No, as her number one fan, he must protect the little goddess.

Later, when Sophia found out that Larry's little goddess was Emma, she too felt disillusioned.

...

Tiffany found out that Gabriel didn't have any particularly important plans for tonight, so she wanted to invite him to watch a movie. However, Gabriel said he wanted to go back to the old house to accompany Sam.

Tiffany fell silent for a moment. "Let's bring Sam along to watch the movie together."

Gabriel was initially going to say that Sam didn't like crowded places, but he remembered that Sam had been willing to go to crowded places recently, so he agreed.

Sam reluctantly parted ways with his two little buddies, and David accompanied him.

Return to the old house.

Mrs. Lancaster was watching TV with her reading glasses on when her great-grandson came back and walked up to her, holding her hand.

"Oh, my goodness, what happened to my little grandchild?" Mrs. Lancaster hugged him and noticed the joy in his eyes. She wondered, "What interesting thing happened at kindergarten today?"

This was the first time Sam came home with such an expression. Previously, he would come back without any excitement and never talk about how his day went at kindergarten. Even if asked, he wouldn't answer.
Sam shook his head, refusing to say, but the happiness in his eyes couldn't be hidden.

Mrs. Lancaster felt delighted. Finally, Sam had some happiness in his life. This was a good thing.

The old lady couldn't wait to tell Gabriel.

However, Gabriel returned shortly and said he wanted to take Sam to watch a movie.

Since Sam was in a good mood, he agreed to go to the movies with his father.

"Is it Tiffany again?" Mrs. Lancaster asked, a touch of irritation in her voice.

Sam's expression froze for a moment, but he quickly regained composure.

Gabriel remained noncommittal.

"What is so good about that woman that made you divorce Sophia and be with her?" Mrs. Lancaster felt exhausted. She was getting old herself and didn't know how much longer she could hold on. Once she was gone, her grandson would definitely marry that woman, and then her great-grandson would have a stepmother.

"Grandma, if you just try to accept Tiffany, you'll see how good she is," Gabriel said helplessly. He knew Tiffany had some minor flaws, but they weren't deal-breakers.

She treated him well, treated Sam well, and was even willing to not have her own children in the future for the sake of Sam. Nobody is perfect, and he wouldn't disregard Tiffany's efforts because of those small flaws.

"Hmph, only you think she's good. Just wait, this woman will show her true colors sooner or later, and don't cry your eyes out when that happens."

Gabriel could only cry and laugh. The old lady still treated him like a child.

Gabriel reached out to hold Sam's hand, but Sam avoided him and gestured, "I want to stay at home with Grandma."

Huh? Didn't he just agree?

"Grandma is lonely."

Seeing her great-grandson's gesture, Mrs. Lancaster laughed with her eyes narrowed.

"Look at this, even a child understands more than you. He knows to accompany this lonely old woman like me."

She was accusing him of not spending time at home with his family and going out to meet other people instead.

In the end, Gabriel ended up canceling his date with Tiffany. With the old and young united, he could only surrender.

As a result, Tiffany was so angry that she smashed a pile of cosmetics.
...
Sophia marked the calendar and finally, the day to meet Sam arrived.

After sending Ethan and Emma to their training classes on the weekend, she went to see Sam.

Gabriel had to cancel his plans because something important came up.

To get things done, Alex and David had no choice but to accompany Sam to meet Sophia.

"Sam." Sophia rushed up with a smiling face, wanting to hug Sam. She cautiously asked him, "Can I hug you?"

Sam nodded.

Sophia hugged Sam tightly.

Sam willingly wrapped his arms around her neck, leaning on her shoulder, showing great reliance.

His initiative to be close to Sophia made her heart flutter with joy.

As Alex watched the mother and son meet, an indescribable pang of bittersweetness filled his heart. Indeed, there's nothing like a birth mother. Even young master is willing to get close after only a few encounters.

In fact, Sam's willingness to get close this time was all thanks to Ethan and Emma. They have spoken countless praises of Sophia in front of Sam.

Sam gestured, "Is your foot better?"

Sophia smiled, "Yes, it's better now, no more pain."

Her son is so warm, just like Ethan.

The most fulfilling thing in life is that she has two little boys who bring warmth and a little cotton-padded jacket.

"Does Sam want to go to the amusement park?"

Emma loves going to the amusement park.

Sam shook his head. He doesn't like it there, too many people and it's annoying. But if Ethan and Emma go, then he will go too.

"How about the children's park?"

Sam continued shaking his head.

Sophia racked her brain and suggested several places, but Sam rejected them all. In the end, she had no choice.

"Then where do you want to go?"

Sam fell silent.

"I know a place that you will definitely like." Sophia's eyes brightened as she carried Sam and walked away.
