Chapter 634 Quite a Coincidence

Tiffany, looking all worried and scared, said, "Gabriel, I'm here for a travel live stream. My team and I were driving to a scenic spot when we saw you in trouble and called the cops. Luckily, they got there fast, and we managed to save you just in time."

"If we had been any later, you might have been beaten to death."

Still looking shaken, Tiffany asked, "Gabriel, who were those people? Why would they want to hurt you?"

Gabriel was a mess, covered in injuries, with multiple fractures and a mild concussion.

Harrison chimed in, "The cops caught two of them, but they're not saying a word."

Gabriel's spirit seemed to perk up a bit. He narrowed his eyes dangerously, and even though he was laid up in bed, his cold and imposing vibe was still there.

Seeing Gabriel ignore her, Tiffany couldn't help but speak up again to make sure he noticed her.

"The doctor said you need to rest and stay in the hospital for a few days. Gabriel, I'm free now, so I'll be here to look after you."

Gabriel still ignored her and instead asked Harrison, "Did you inform my family?"

Harrison said playfully, "If you hadn't woken up, I was about to call Sophia to come help."

The implication was that he hadn't told Sophia yet.

Harrison's words made Tiffany's face turn sour.

She thought, 'Why does he mention Sophia? How unlucky.'

"Don't let her know yet." When Gabriel thought of Sophia, the coldness in his eyes turned to warmth.

He didn't want Ruth and Sophia to worry. In a few days, when he could move, he would go back home directly.

Harrison asked, "Shouldn't we let Ruth and Sophia know about this? It's a big deal."

"It's okay. With me here taking care of Gabriel, Ruth won't have to worry about him," Tiffany said, deliberately not mentioning Sophia.

It was Tiffany who saved Gabriel, but no matter what she said, Gabriel didn't respond to her. Instead, when Harrison mentioned Sophia, Gabriel's expression softened.

Jealousy consumed Tiffany's heart.

Harrison glanced at Tiffany indifferently and sneered, "I'm here, so it's not your job to take care of Gabriel. Miss Foster, why were you, a small-time live streamer, there in the first place?"

His gaze became increasingly questionable and meaningful.

Tiffany's heart skipped a beat, and she quickly said, "Didn't I just say? My team and I were going to a scenic spot for filming and happened to see Gabriel in danger."

"That was quite a coincidence," Harrison said with a half-smile.

Tiffany felt nervous and mused, 'What does Harrison mean? Is he suspecting something?'

"Gabriel," she turned her head, looking at Gabriel with red eyes and said aggrievedly, "If you don't want me to take care of you, that's fine. As long as you get better, I'll do anything."

Gabriel closed his eyes, his voice hoarse and cold.

"You can go now. Thanks for this time."

No matter what, it seemed that Tiffany did save him.

Something about the whole thing just didn't sit right with him, and he needed to think it through.

Tiffany gritted her teeth secretly. She didn't want to leave, but it was clear Gabriel wouldn't let her stay. If she forced herself to stay, she might provoke Gabriel's disgust.

"Then I'll go for now. I'll come back to see you later."

"Okay."

Harrison watched Tiffany walk away, then closed the door to the ward, returned to his chair, and sat down, crossing his legs and swinging them.

"Gabriel, someone tried to kill you but failed."

Gabriel's head was pounding, and every move sent sharp pain through his injuries, making him wince.

"Yeah."

Harrison asked, "Who hates you enough to do this?"

If it was business, Gabriel had plenty of enemies. But if they narrowed it down to those who could operate in Country M, the list got shorter.

Both of them fell silent for a bit.

Harrison thought out loud, "Do you think Tiffany might be involved? I mean, why was she there at that exact moment? And the cops showed up super fast."

"I asked around. Those cops were patrolling nearby and rushed over as soon as they got the call."

In such a critical situation, if the police hadn't arrived in time, Tiffany and her assistant might have been in trouble too.

They mused, 'But everything was just too coincidental. Tiffany showed up, Tiffany called the cops, and the cops arrived in time. It's like every minute and second was planned.'

Gabriel said heavily, "Don't worry about the suppliers for now. Stay here and help me figure this out."

"Okay, no problem."

"Where are Alex and Benjamin?"

"Benjamin's in worse shape. Alex is a bit better but still pretty banged up."

"Where's my phone?"

Harrison patted his clothes, then pulled a phone from his pocket and handed it to Gabriel.

"Your phone's missing. Use this one for now."

Gabriel first opened Facebook and logged into his account.

After a while, there were countless messages on Facebook, but none from Sophia.

He opened Sophia's account, and because he was on a new phone, their chat history was blank.

Gabriel typed out a message and sent it.

Gabriel: [I might be delayed for another two days. How are the kids?]

Sophia was probably already asleep. After sending the message, Gabriel put the phone down.

"Get some more sleep. I'll go handle some things," Harrison said as he got up.

"Okay."

"Gabriel, it's fine not to worry your family when you're hurt, but don't forget Sophia isn't your wife yet. Now's the time to let her take care of you."

Gabriel said, "Get out."

Harrison left with a mischievous smile, leaving Gabriel alone in the ward, but there were bodyguards outside.

He stared at the ceiling, thinking about what Harrison had just said.

He had been focused on keeping his family in the dark for a bit, planning to explain everything when he got back. He had forgotten that even if he told Sophia he was hurt, it didn't mean she would worry about him.

Gabriel smiled self-deprecatingly.

Little did he know, Sophia had been feeling uneasy these past two days.

When she saw Tiffany's photo, she felt uncomfortable and suspected that Gabriel might really be on a business trip with Tiffany.

But when the kids tried to contact Gabriel several times, and she couldn't reach him through calls or video messages, she started to worry.

She sent Gabriel a text, telling him that the kids missed him.

When it came to the kids, Gabriel would always respond, no matter how busy he was.

But this time, Sophia's message seemed to vanish into thin air without answers, and her calls went straight to voicemail, saying the number was out of service.

Today, Sophia was planning to tell Ruth and see if they should ask David, who was still in Country M, to help find out where Gabriel was.
