Chapter 642 Call Me Mom
Sophia stood at the door, eavesdropping on Tiffany's conversation.
Tiffany was going on about how Gabriel was all blurry-eyed when she saved him. In the middle of the night, his wound got worse, and he spiked a high fever. She ran to get a doctor and stayed up all night taking care of him.
Everything Tiffany said lined up perfectly with what happened when Sophia saved Gabriel years ago.
Sophia smirked. She was now sure Tiffany had pretended to be her back then. I mean, how could Gabriel get hurt twice, lose his vision both times, and go through the same exact events?
That would be some seriously bad luck for Gabriel.
Gabriel was happy to see Sophia, but then he raised an eyebrow.
Tiffany had no clue how much Sophia had overheard. She was freaking out inside and hated that Sophia had just barged in and messed up her plans.
"Spill it, did you save Gabriel? When did you save him? How did you save him?"
Sophia saw Tiffany trying to make a run for it and immediately hit her with three sharp questions, pinning her in place.
Gabriel also gave her a curious look.
He furrowed his brows a bit.
Even though he didn't get why Sophia was grilling Tiffany, he wasn't about to stop her.
Tiffany took a tiny step back, feeling guilty. She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth.
Gabriel's gaze made it impossible for Tiffany to escape.
She had no choice but to answer Sophia's questions.
Otherwise, if Gabriel found out...
"How else do you save someone, Sophia? Stop causing trouble. It's none of your business." Tiffany raised her voice, trying to sound tough but clearly lacking confidence.
Gabriel's brows furrowed even more, and his whole vibe got colder. His eyes were like daggers aimed at Tiffany.
"I don't care about your business, but you pretending to be me..."
"You're talking nonsense!" Tiffany cut Sophia off before she could finish.
"Don't think you can badmouth me in front of Gabriel."
The more anxious Tiffany got, the guiltier she felt.
"Fine, then answer my questions. When did you save Gabriel, and how did you save him?"
Sophia's powerful presence pressed forward step by step. Today, she was set on exposing Tiffany's lies.
No wonder she had saved Gabriel, but he seemed to have no memory of it.
Turns out Tiffany had pretended to be her to become Gabriel's savior.
The more Sophia thought about it, the angrier she got.
Tiffany was forced to back up repeatedly.
"I..."
She paused for a long time, her mind racing, and looked to Gabriel for help, only to see doubt in his eyes.
In desperation, she said, "Nine years ago, I was in Country M. Gabriel was seriously injured, and I took him to the hospital. Is that enough?"
"And after taking him to the hospital? Did he lose his vision, and you took care of him? Did he have a fever, and you stayed up all night? Did you fight with the doctor because they were negligent, and then leave without saying goodbye because of an urgent matter?"
Tiffany's face went pale.
Everything Sophia said were details Tiffany had told Gabriel.
'Is Sophia really going to expose everything today?' she thought.
Tiffany trembled all over and glanced at Gabriel, noticing his shocked expression as he looked at Sophia. Her heart sank.
Tiffany screamed in her mind, 'I'm finished.'
Sophia stepped forward, grabbed the button on Tiffany's necklace, and yanked it hard.
Tiffany felt a sharp pain in her neck as the chain snapped. She couldn't stop it, and Sophia got the button.
"You even took a button as a keepsake when you left, didn't you?"
"Give it back to me!" Tiffany tried to snatch it back, but Sophia slapped her.
"Tiffany, you're disgusting. A total creep. You spied on everything while interning at that hospital, which is why you could impersonate me so confidently."
"You're lying. I didn't."
Tiffany covered her face.
She looked pitifully at Gabriel, but his gaze grew colder, and she was shocked.
"Gabriel, don't believe her. I never interned at that hospital."
"You said it yourself. You even said you missed it." Sophia took out her phone and opened the tweet Tiffany had posted.
Tiffany's face turned extremely ugly.
At that time, she had been flattered by her fans and posted that tweet out of vanity.
She never expected it to become evidence for Sophia to expose her today.
"Sophia, you're the one who spied!" Tiffany tried to slander Sophia again.
"Enough!" Gabriel said coldly. He pressed the intercom on the desk. "Come in."
Two bodyguards quickly entered.
"Mr. Lancaster."
"Throw her out!"
The two bodyguards looked at Sophia and then at Tiffany.
Tiffany thought Gabriel still believed her. After all, she had the button as proof, and Sophia only had her word. Besides, Sophia had eavesdropped on their conversation.
So she looked at the two bodyguards. "Hurry up and throw her out!"
One of the bodyguards was Dylan.
Dylan exchanged a glance with the other bodyguard and walked towards Sophia.
Sophia stood still, looking at Tiffany with a faint smile, her hand slowly clenching.
Just as Dylan was about to touch Sophia, Gabriel spoke angrily, "Who told you to touch her!"
The two bodyguards trembled all over and quickly turned to grab Tiffany.
Tiffany was in disbelief and shouted,
"Gabriel, Gabriel, don't believe her. You two, let me go. Throw Sophia out."
Tiffany's voice gradually faded away.
Sophia's clenched fist slowly relaxed.
Gabriel walked to her side and held her hand.
"I'm sorry if I scared you just now."
Sophia gently shook her head.
In that moment, she had indeed felt nervous, afraid that Gabriel would really throw her out.
She had even prepared to resist and thought about how to leave with dignity.
Gabriel's voice was gentle, totally different from his earlier coldness.
"What was that all about you said earlier?"
He already had some suspicions in his heart, but he needed a definite answer.
Gabriel stared intently at Sophia's face.
He slightly tightened his grip on her hand.
Sophia said, "Do you remember? You had a fever in the middle of the night, and I went to find a doctor for you. I was in such a hurry that I fell."
She pointed to her knee. "I hurt my knee and even complained to you about it."
"The doctor neglected your condition and gave you the wrong medication. I argued with them and got scratched by a nurse."
She pointed to the right side of her neck.
Gabriel's breathing grew heavier.
These details were things Tiffany had never mentioned, but he remembered them clearly.
His Adam's apple bobbed up and down, and he asked in a low voice, "Is there more?"
Sophia said, "You also liked to hold my hand and call 'mom' when you were asleep."
Gabriel fell silent.
