Chapter 111 Losing Hair

In the apartment, Tiffany prepared a table of delicious dishes and a bottle of aged red wine.

When Gabriel entered, he saw that the lights were off and was about to turn them on.

"Don't turn on the lights," Tiffany's urgent voice came through.

Gabriel furrowed his brow, changed his shoes, and walked in. The atmosphere in the room was rendered warm and romantic by the flickering candles.

Tiffany playfully walked over and took his hand.

"I prepared dinner, come and eat."

The candlelit dinner was sumptuous, but Gabriel had no appetite.

He let Tiffany lead him to the dining room and sit down.

"Gabriel, do you remember what day it is today?" Tiffany sat beside him, looking at him expectantly and tenderly.

Gabriel pondered for a moment. He remembered that today wasn't a holiday, let alone someone's birthday.

Tiffany wore an expression of resignation, as if she knew he would forget.

"Today is the six-year anniversary of our reunion in country M."

Tiffany took out a cufflink, a sleek black one with gold edges and a letter engraved in the middle. This style was fashionable back then and still appeared elegant now, albeit with a diminished sense of fashion.

She threaded a silver string through the cufflink and wore it as a necklace around her neck.

"This is our token of love." She touched the cufflink, her face filled with happiness.

Gabriel's deep memories were stirred by her actions.

That year, he completed his Ph.D. in country M, but offended someone during the early stages of his entrepreneurship and was brutally retaliated against. It was Tiffany who saved him and took care of him diligently in the hospital.

Tiffany had a bad temper and often argued with the doctors, but it was all to protect him. Medical conditions in country M were difficult, and doctors were often arrogant and negligent towards patients. His wound became infected, causing a high fever. Tiffany became desperate and tears streaming down her face, she started a heated argument with the doctor to obtain antipyretics and antibiotics.

Unfortunately, she disappeared suddenly before he fully recovered, leaving only a note behind.

Gabriel vividly remembered the contents of the note "I like you. If you want to repay me, would you consider giving yourself to me?"

It was accompanied by a mischievous little emoticon.

He knew she was joking, but he took it seriously and always remembered the promise to give himself to her.

They lost contact for three years until he returned to country M to develop his own influence. It was during his search for a psychologist to treat his insomnia that he reunited with Tiffany, who was still an intern at the time.

Back then, he was overjoyed, but gradually he felt that Tiffany had changed compared to three years ago. It was as if she had become a different person, cautiously trying to please him and often playing little tricks.

The Tiffany he remembered from his memories should have been strong, cheerful, fearless, and hot-tempered yet kind.

After several conversations, he learned about her tragic childhood experience. She became a psychological doctor in order to heal from her childhood trauma. As a result, she sometimes felt insecure in relationships, which was why she left without saying goodbye back then.

He understood. So, afterwards, he wanted to understand her more, to support her, and to make up for the missed years they spent apart.

In the coming years, he accommodated her every scheme and helped her establish a counseling center, gradually boosting her self-confidence.

"Gabriel?"

Tiffany looked at him as if lost in a memory, her heart racing, and called out to him twice.

Gabriel snapped back to reality, a hint of apology flashing across his face.

"I'm sorry, I forgot, I've been busy."

"It's okay, you have to take care of Sam and manage the company. It's understandable to forget when you're overwhelmed. But luckily, I didn't forget," Tiffany smiled, understanding yet revealing a hint of grievance, hoping to make Gabriel feel more remorseful.

And true to her expectations, the next moment Gabriel took out his phone and ordered several new designer bags for her online.

Tiffany was secretly delighted.

That day, she had indeed been foolish. Gabriel had a psychological disorder that prevented him from getting close to women, as it made him anxious and even violent. So how could he have been with Fiona?

That wretched Fiona must have taken the initiative and coincidentally been caught in a photo by Sophia.

Tiffany regretted making that call to Sophia; otherwise, she wouldn't have been mercilessly mocked by her.

Determined in her heart, she swore to take revenge!

Gabriel stayed for half an hour out of politeness, and they hardly ate anything. Tiffany kept trying to find topics to talk to Gabriel about, occasionally mentioning the past, but whenever it brought back Gabriel's memories, she discreetly shifted the focus to Sam.

"How is Sam doing now?" Tiffany asked with a worried frown, her eyes reddening, conveying a genuine concern for her own son.

"The same as before."

Previously, Sam would show some expressions in front of him, and Gabriel could tell his mood. But now, Sam seemed like a soulless walking corpse.

"I received a suggestion from a friend abroad. We could consider taking Sam overseas for treatment."

Gabriel's deep gaze fell upon her, as if trying to see through her thoughts with his intense eyes.

Tiffany could barely maintain her expression on her face.

She clenched her hand tightly under the table, her nails digging into her palm, the pain making her more alert, her thinking more meticulous, and her expression well-hidden.

"Alfred is a top child psychologist in the country. His treatment plans are not bad, but despite all these years, Sam's condition hasn't improved and has even worsened," Tiffany explained.

"I recently got in touch with an international professor of child psychology, Morris, through a classmate abroad. With my classmate's help, we can seek assistance from Morris's disciple overseas and see if Morris can treat Sam."

Gabriel was surprised that Tiffany had secretly done so much research and quietly sought better psychologists for Sam.

His stern expression softened slightly.

"I will consider this matter. It's getting late; you should rest early."

Gabriel got up to leave and Tiffany did not stop him, playing the role of a virtuous wife and loving mother as she personally saw him off.

After closing the door, she smugly smirked and leaned against it.

Going abroad for treatment is never easy.

Gabriel has to properly arrange things at the company and persuade Mrs. Lancaster. It will take at least six months before he can leave the country.

In six months, the side effects of the medication will be more than enough for Sam to endure.

Even two Morris doctors won't be able to cure Sam by then.

In the Lancaster family mansion, Sam was taking a bath and suddenly noticed a bunch of hair blocking the drain.

Did he lose all this hair?

Sam's hair had a natural curl at the ends, and since he was the only one using this bathroom, it must be his.

He looked at it strangely for a while, then reached up and touched his head, pulling out a few more hairs.

He didn't know why he was losing so much hair, but he didn't pay much attention. It's natural for hair to fall out; even Dad loses hair, Grandma Betty always complains about losing a lot of hair, and Uncle Gardener is always worried about being bald.
