Chapter 20: She Will Avenge Her Enemies
When they arrived at the restaurant, Gabriel had just arrived as well. He had been waiting in the parking lot for a few minutes when he saw Tiffany's car pull in.
As soon as she parked, he opened the car door and carried Sam out.
"What do you feel like eating today?" Gabriel asked as he walked towards the elevator, holding Sam in one arm.
Watching this scene, Tiffany felt a pang of sadness. Every time that this "third wheel" was present, Gabriel seemed to have no eyes for her.
If she had known that Gabriel loved children, she should have made her move earlier. But now, because of Gabriel's strange illness, she couldn't find any opportunity to do so.
Gabriel was always so busy, only returning to the ancestral home three days a month at best. The time he spent with his son was even more limited, so he cherished every encounter with his son even more.
They ordered dishes according to Sam's preferences, and Gabriel started testing Sam's knowledge. Since Sam couldn't speak, he wrote down his answers in a notebook.
Gabriel looked at his son's handwriting and was pleased with the progress he had made.
"Gabriel, the food is ready. Let's eat. Sam is still young, he can't learn so much," Tiffany felt annoyed. Gabriel only had eyes for the child, not her. She couldn't help but interrupt them.
"Let's eat first."
Gabriel personally served the food to his son, and Sam's eyes were filled with joy. After finishing their meal, Gabriel took Sam back to the ancestral home, while Tiffany...she couldn't go with them.
Otherwise, that old woman would start insulting her again, poking fun at her nose and eyes. Back at home, Sophia cooked dinner for the children. While cooking, a delivery arrived at their door, and Ethan helped sign for it.
The two adorable children looked at the large box and exchanged glances.
"Did Mommy buy us toys?" Emma excitedly guessed.
Ethan glanced at the delivery slip.
"It's an international delivery, probably sent by Caroline."
"So it's toys from Caroline?" Emma asked.
Ethan rolled his eyes, "All you ever think about is toys. We didn't bring back anything from M country, so Caroline must have helped us pack and send them back."
"Oh, so it's not toys then."
Emma instantly lost interest in opening the delivery and turned back to playing games on her iPad.
Ethan was speechless. Sophia finished her work and saw the big pile of deliveries. Her face lit up with a joyful smile. After they finished their meal, she called for the two children to come and open the deliveries and organize the contents together.
Indeed, these were the things that Caroline had helped send back. When Sophia saw the small box, she treated it like a treasure. Ethan and Emma exchanged a knowing look, as if to say, "It's that again."
Over the years, Mommy had treasured this small box. Every time she made clothes for them, she would make an extra set and place it in this small box.
They asked Mommy about it, but Mommy wouldn't say anything and would just cry. Very sad, and then they dared not ask again.
These past two days, Mommy has been making clothes for them again, this time making one set extra, comparing it to Ethan's size.
But obviously, this time Mommy is more meticulous, comparing sizes each time and muttering
"He is thinner than Ethan, the size should be a bit smaller, the height is about the same, but this color doesn't seem to suit him."
Mommy never used to pay attention to whether the colors matched or not. So, did Mommy make clothes for other kids this time?
"Ethan, Emma, Mommy has found a good school for you, you can start classes next Monday."
As soon as Emma heard this, her face instantly drooped, and she whined, "Mommy, can I not go?"
Kindergarten is not fun at all, those people are so dumb. Ethan also didn’t want to go, he looked at Sophia expectantly.
"You cannot not go, you're still kids, going to kindergarten can help you make new friends."
Sophia knew how clever her two kids were, they learned things quickly and had already learned many words, but they have far too few friends. She hoped they could make more friends and enrich their childhood and be happy.
Emma pouted and threw a tantrum, but it didn't work, so she reluctantly went into the room, carrying her doll. Ethan saw Mommy carefully folding the set of clothes and putting it in a beautiful bag, and his eyes lit up with an idea.
The next day, after Sophia gave the kids instructions, they headed out with the bag in hand.
After buying the house, their finances became tight, so Sophia had to take the bus to the kindergarten.
Little did she know, as soon as she left, the two mischievous troublemakers sneaked out, even hailing a taxi to follow Sophia.
When Sophia got off at the stop near the kindergarten, they also got off. Ethan took out his phone watch to pay the driver, holding his little sister tightly.
Emma whispered, "Why is Mommy coming to the kindergarten?"
"She must be looking for other kids," Ethan said, furrowing his eyebrows like a little adult.
That tone, it's as if Mommy secretly has other kids.
"Mommy can't go in." Emma saw Sophia being stopped outside and said with a huff, "That uncle dared to be mean to Mommy, I'll teach him a lesson." Emma saw Mommy being pushed, and she got so mad that she wanted to go up and help Mommy get revenge, but Ethan held her back.
"If you go up, we'll be exposed. Mommy doesn't want us to go out by ourselves."
Hearing this, Emma immediately gave up, but she silently noted it in her little notebook, hmm, she will remember this uncle.
She, Emma Yuan, will get her revenge!
The two children hid around the corner and continued to watch. Since Sophia couldn't go in, she had to wait outside. Fortunately, school was over half an hour later.
Soon, she saw Sam come out, accompanied by another man.
"Sam!" Sophia rushed over, but as she approached, the man extended his arm to stop Sophia.
"Hello."
"I won't harm Sam, I just want to give him a set of clothes," Sophia handed over the bag.
The man was dressed in a suit, expressionless, with sharp eyes. Obviously, he was the bodyguard arranged by Gabriel for Sam.
He did not accept the bag from Sophia, but rather shielded Sam tightly behind him. Then, in a cold tone, he said, "Our young master doesn't accept gifts from strangers. Please step aside."
"I'm not a stranger. I've met Sam twice before. The first time, Gabriel brought me to see him," Sophia urgently explained.
She wanted to catch a glimpse of Sam, but her line of sight was completely blocked by this robust man.
Gabriel was detestable, and the people around him were equally unpleasant.
"If you don't step aside soon, don't blame me for being impolite," the bodyguard cracked his knuckles, the sound of joint friction sounding like "click clack," causing Sophia's scalp to tingle.
She had serious doubts that this bodyguard would actually make a move.
"I'm just delivering some clothes, that's all."
Just as the bodyguard was about to make a move, Sam pulled on his arm and he quickly stopped.
"What instructions does the young master have?"
