Chapter 151: Lancaster's Hidden Intentions

The spring collection launch was a resounding success. Sophia made her debut in the industry as a designer for Lancaster, the first time she appeared since her hurried departure last time. Everything went smoothly this time.

Gabriel sat in the audience, watching Sophia on the runway. She exuded elegance in her attire, her aesthetic sense was truly exceptional. She knew how to grasp the current trends, and her designs, like her, were daring, confident, and captivating, making it impossible to look away.

"Sophia? Why does she look familiar?" A middle-aged man sitting next to Gabriel observed Sophia with a pensive expression. Before Gabriel could respond, his face lit up. "Ah, I remember now, I've seen her before!"

Gabriel's interest was piqued. The man next to him was Randall, responsible for selecting designs for the domestic fashion week. He had specially invited Flora to participate in the new collection launch, hoping she could step onto a bigger stage and become a springboard to international success.

"Where did you meet her?" Gabriel asked, playing along.

Randall smiled warmly. "It was in Country M, about three years ago. At that time, she was still a relatively unknown designer. I never expected her to be brought back to the country by Mr. Lancaster and become a prominent designer for Lancaster."

Admiration filled his eyes; not many designers could leave such an impression on him. Sophia was quite talented.

"Mr. Lancaster, talent like hers should be nurtured. It won't be long before your company establishes an even better brand and goes international," Randall remarked.

Gabriel responded with a business-like smile. "Of course, we must nurture promising talents."

Both the company and the designers grew together. Designers produced excellent works for the company, ensuring profitability, while the company provided more learning opportunities for the designers to enhance their abilities.

As Gabriel looked at the radiant Sophia on the runway, he fell into contemplation.

Five years later, Sophia continued to surprise him at every turn.

During the celebratory banquet in the evening, Sophia had no choice but to attend, and Gabriel was there as well.

Kathy Caroline happily clinked glasses with Sophia, holding her glass high. "Sophia, I never expected our collaboration to bring me such great success. Our creations will soon hit even bigger stages."

Kathy Caroline's name would soon be more widely known in the country.

"I've learned a lot from working with you too. Let's continue to strive together in the future," Sophia replied.

"Absolutely, let's keep working hard," Kathy Caroline exclaimed joyfully, continuously toasting Sophia. Sophia chuckled and advised her to drink less.

"Kell..."
"designer." Randall walked over, dressed in a dark gray suit, with impeccably combed hair and a smiling expression.

"Hello." Sophia quickly stood up, recognizing Randall.

This person had a sharp eye, and any brand chosen by him would surely see a boost in market position as long as they walked through his fashion show.

KathyCaroline's eyes lit up when she saw Randall, but quickly dimmed as she lowered her head, playing with her glass, lost in thought.

Both of them made a symbolic toast, Randall and Sophia introduced themselves to each other, and then they started talking about fashion.

Randall was mature and composed, speaking slowly and with focused eye contact. Talking to him, one topic seamlessly led to another, making for an engaging conversation.

Gabriel downed the drink in his glass in one gulp, his gaze fixated on Sophia as if she had captured his attention, never leaving her.

Harrison had a teasing smile on his face.

"Sophia and Randall seem to get along well," he remarked, "This Randall is still single, right? People say he's the eligible bachelor of the fashion world."

"I can tell from the way he looks at Sophia, it's like he's aiming for his prey. Could it be that he's interested in Sophia?"

Gabriel's cold gaze turned towards him, giving him a glance. "When did you become so gossip-prone?"

Harrison chuckled, "I have even juicier gossip. Would you like to hear it?"

Gabriel replied, "I don't want to hear it."

"Randall, male, 38 years old, in the planning industry for ten years, has a high reputation in the industry. He's not as handsome as me, nor as wealthy as you, but he has a gentle personality, maturity, and is quite popular among young girls."

Harrison discreetly glanced at his friend and saw that he hadn't moved his glass, seemingly listening intently.

Well, his friend had a talent for saying things that didn't reflect his true feelings. He was becoming more and more skilled.

"Two years ago, there was news of Randall getting a female college student pregnant and then the news was quickly suppressed. After that, Randall had a girlfriend, but they broke up within a year. The girl said he cheated on her with four other women, but he adamantly denied it. In the end, it was left unresolved. Old Lancaster, his time management skills are better than yours."

Gabriel was speechless, was that even comparable?

Randall's time management was devoted to women, while his was focused on work.

Harrison stroked his chin and analyzed, "Sophia is also nearing thirty, but she takes good care of herself. She looks just like a fresh graduate in her twenties, youthful and beautiful, precisely the type that Randall likes."

Gabriel placed his glass down and stood up. Harrison grinned and deliberately asked him, "Where are you going?"

"The restroom!"

Gabriel really did go to the restroom, and Sophia...
What does Randall want from Sophia?
He is just her ex-husband. He kindly reminded her the last time, but she retorted. It is only now that he cares about her affairs.

Randall chatted with Sophia for half an hour. Kathy Caroline tried several times to interrupt and get closer to Randall but failed.

Sophia had a few drinks, and her cheeks turned slightly red. When Gabriel came back, someone suggested that everyone have a final drink together. Everyone stood up, and Sophia accidentally stepped on something, swaying slightly. Randall quickly supported her.

"Be careful."

Sophia smiled and said, "Thank you."

She discreetly withdrew her arm, and Randall tactfully created some distance.

Gabriel's face turned gloomy as if it could drip ink. No one understood why the boss suddenly became unhappy. They didn't dare to say anything nice and nervously drank their last glass of alcohol.

"I have something to take care of. I'll leave first," Gabriel said, picking up his coat and leaving.

Harrison was overjoyed in his heart.

Others didn't know why Gabriel was upset, but he did.

He was clearly worried about Sophia, although he wouldn't admit it.

After the boss left, everyone seemed to relax a little. Someone suggested going to the next venue.

Sophia said, "You guys go ahead. I have something to do, so I'll head back."

"Kelly, you and Chen are the heroes. How can you not go?" someone said.

"Yeah, Kelly never attends parties. Today, we finally gather, so let's go together," another added.

Randall also said to Sophia, "You wouldn't have the heart to disappoint everyone, right? Why not stay for a while and then leave?"

Looking at the time, which was already past eight, Sophia thought about Caroline at home, so she decided to stay for a while and then leave.
