Chapter 603 Unbelievable

Linda scowled. "Daisy, cut the crap."

Daisy used to be different. She was all classy, smart, and straight-up honest. But ever since Nicholas came into the picture, she seemed to lose her marbles, especially after having a kid. Daisy's attitude got way more unreasonable.

Daisy felt even more ticked off.

"No way. Caroline's a total witch who's got Nicholas under her spell."

"Who you calling a witch?"

Daniel practically leaped out of the hospital bed, fuming.

"Caroline's a witch!" Daisy didn't even notice Daniel's face turning red with anger.

Daniel's face went dark as night. He stormed up to Daisy, pointing right at her nose, so mad he could barely get the words out.

"Idiot."

"Your behavior is disgusting! All those books you read, all that education – where did it go? You call people witches like it's nothing. You think you can just trash-talk Caroline? You've been spoiled rotten."

Daisy never expected Daniel, who always pampered her, to go off on her like that.

She stood there, eyes wide in shock.

Mia was just as stunned.

Linda looked at Daniel, totally baffled.

"Daniel, what the heck? Are you nuts? Why are you yelling at Daisy?"

"I'm not nuts. You can yell at anyone, but you can't yell at Caroline!"

Overcome with anger and anxiety, Daniel felt dizzy and swayed a bit.

"Honey!" Linda rushed to support him.

"Dad," Diana called out, worried.

In the ward, Caroline and Nicholas heard the ruckus, and Caroline dropped the orange she was holding.

Lisa said, "If you're worried, go check it out."

Caroline nodded, picked up the orange, put it aside, and walked out with slightly red eyes.

Nicholas followed quietly.

Caroline had heard Daniel defending her loud and clear. It was the first time she felt family standing up for her.

When Caroline came out, Daniel, who was leaning on Linda, straightened up like a kid caught doing something wrong. He even had a goofy smile on his face.

"Caroline."

Everyone was confused by Daniel's attitude towards Caroline.

Especially Linda.

"Honey, what's up with you?" Linda's voice shook.

Daniel seemed to ignore her, looking Caroline up and down, asking worriedly, "Why are you at the hospital? You feeling okay? Is it serious?"

His concern warmed Caroline's heart.

She shook her head. "It's not me. Lisa's here for chemo."

"Okay." Daniel let out a sigh of relief, then asked happily, "How long's the chemo? You gonna be here?"

"Daniel!" Linda shouted his name.

She thought Daniel must've lost it. They owed Diana so much, yet she'd never seen him treat Diana this way.

But today, Daniel was all about Caroline.

Daniel frowned a bit. He almost forgot Linda didn't know yet.

"Linda." Daniel suddenly turned and looked her dead in the eyes.

For some reason, Mia got a bad feeling.

"Daniel." She tried to cut him off.

Daniel raised his hand to shut her up.

Mia had no choice but to signal Diana with her eyes.

"Dad, you're weak right now. Let's get you back to the ward to rest." Diana stepped forward, trying to support Daniel.

Daniel shoved her hand away.

"Daniel, Diana's just worried about you, and you..."

"I don't give a damn about anyone else's concern. I only want my real daughter's concern." Daniel glanced at Caroline. "Linda, I'm sorry. I should've told you sooner."

Fear gripped Mia, Daisy, and Diana instantly.

Diana clenched her fists, her legs shaking, thinking, 'Am I screwed?'

Mia pinched Daisy, and Daisy got the hint, fainting on cue.

Mia shouted, "Daisy, what's wrong? Daisy?"

Daniel frowned and glanced at Daisy, then said to Sharpe, "Sharpe, can you get a doctor?"

"Okay." With Nicholas's nod, Sharpe dashed off to find a doctor.

Soon, the doctor came, checked Daisy's eyelids, and started first aid.

Daisy still didn't wake up.

The doctor kept pinching her until she couldn't take it anymore and finally opened her eyes.

She looked at Mia with a pained expression, signaling she'd done her best.

Daniel sneered and looked away.

Linda, seeing Daisy awake, turned her focus back to Daniel.

"Daniel, you're acting super weird today. What's going on?"

"I found our real daughter." Daniel's words hit like a bomb.

"What are you talking about? Didn't we already find our daughter?" Linda's frown deepened.

'Is Daniel losing it?' Linda thought.

Daniel shook his head. "Diana isn't our daughter. Our real daughter is..."

"Impossible!" Mia snapped. "We did a paternity test back then, and Diana's birthmark matches."

'Birthmark?' Caroline thought of the one on her own back.

Daniel shot a cold look at Mia. "You should know better. Weren't you the one who found Diana and said she was my daughter? You also handled the paternity test, right?"

Mia took a step back.

"Daniel, what are you implying?"

Linda was even more confused. "What are you talking about?"

Daniel glared at Mia, then looked gently at Linda, explaining patiently, "When we were treating Diana abroad, Blake found that Diana's DNA didn't match mine, so I did another paternity test."

"The result showed that Diana isn't our biological daughter."

"How is that possible!" Linda couldn't believe it, thinking, 'How could the Diana I've doted on not be my daughter?'

"It's true, Linda. I was terrified our real daughter was already dead, so I didn't dare tell you the truth. I was afraid you couldn't handle it."

"But now I can tell you clearly that our real daughter is still alive. She's right here with us."

Linda's face went pale.

"Then who is she?"

"Caroline."

The room fell silent, so quiet you could hear a pin drop.

Linda's head turned slowly towards Caroline.

After a long pause, she suddenly pushed Daniel's hand away, shaking her head.

"You're lying to me, aren't you?"

"Daniel, don't mess with Linda. How could Caroline be your daughter? Saying that will break Linda."

Mia stepped forward to support Linda, looking concerned.

She signaled Diana to come over quickly.

Diana was already in a daze, her whole body trembling.
