Chapter 77 Unexpected Friends
Ethan became wary when he saw someone in the comments claiming to know Emma.
He was sure that they were here to tarnish Emma's reputation again!
Dirty Mud, who had gifted Emma numerous presents, rarely spoke in the comments.
However, this time, they left a comment as well.
Dirty Mud: "Acquaintances from nowhere."
"It's definitely someone here to discredit my girl, MilkSugar."
"My girlfriend said that once the viewer count surpasses ten million, it proves something to us. Hurry and invite more people to the livestream."
Everyone was eager to find out if MilkSugar was really as amazing as they claimed, being only five years old.
After all, it was hard to believe that a child of that age could play games at such a high level, comparable to a professional gamer.
Within moments, the number of viewers in the livestream began to skyrocket.
It quickly surpassed one million, and by the end of a game, Emma was astonished to see that the viewer count had reached six million!
Emma giggled happily, saying, "Thank you, big brothers and sisters, for your support. But we're still four million short of viewers, so MilkSugar can't prove anything to you today."
"Don't stop, MilkSugar! Play another game!"
"It's very late already, and I need to go to bed. If not, I won't grow taller. Mommy said that being an early riser and an early sleeper is what good children do. Big brothers and sisters, please rest early too and don't stay up late."
"Oh no, MilkSugar is so warm-hearted."
"MilkSugar's mom loves you. Your voice is so beautiful, say a few more things."
"Your disgusting mother says to come home and have dinner. She's disgustingly home now."
Dirty Mud started sending more gifts.
"MilkSugar will chat with everyone next time. Goodnight."
After ending the livestream, Emma raised her eyebrows triumphantly and looked at Ethan.
"I gained so many new fans again."
Ethan checked the earnings in the backend and realized that within just one hour of tonight's livestream, they had made tens of thousands of dollars.
The top gift-givers were "Dirty Mud" in first place and "Ugly Blood" in second.
Upon seeing the word "Blood," Ethan thought of his rotten father, Gabriel.
Could it be Gabriel, that rotten father?
Does he actually watch the livestream?
Each of Emma's livestream sessions only lasted for an hour.
Fans thought it was too short, but Emma explained in the livestream that she had to go to school during the day, so she could only livestream at night. And she couldn't livestream every day either.
It was precisely because of this "scarcity marketing" that the fans cherished each of her livestreams. Some fans even made recordings and shared edited videos on various social media platforms.
Emma's cute and gentle voice, along with her superb gaming skills and aura of mystery, made her popular online.
Even celebrities who enjoyed playing games shared her livestream videos and expressed their curiosity about the true identity of "MilkSugar is too sweet."
Sophia quietly walked up to Larry, who was sneakily watching Emma and MilkSugar's livestream videos.
Suddenly, Larry felt a chill on his back and turned around, startled.
"Sophia, you scared me!"
Sophia was speechless. "No wonder you haven't come up with any new designs. It seems like gaming has been distracting you."
Larry took off his headphones, grinning. "It's not that I'm being distracted by gaming. It's just that I lack inspiration, and you know design requires inspiration."
"But inspiration needs to be actively sought after."
"Yes, that's why I watch game streams to find inspiration."
"Have you found any?"
"Not yet," Larry scratched his head.
Sophia shook her head helplessly.
Today is the third day and in the afternoon, the competition results will be announced, along with Flora's future development plan.
Kathy Caroline couldn't be happier as she looked at the huge lead she had over Sophia.
It seemed like winning this competition was a done deal for her.
Sophia, on the other hand, wanted to compete with Kathy Caroline, even as a beginner.
Ha!
While having lunch in the cafeteria, Sophia ran into Kathy Caroline.
She greeted Kathy Caroline with a smile, but Kathy Caroline seemed to have completely ignored her and walked past without acknowledging her presence.
Larry noticed and snorted coldly. "Just because Caroline won, she thinks she's superior now, looking down on everyone else."
Sophia chuckled softly. "How do you know she won?"
She thought they were competing fairly, but Kathy Caroline didn't seem to agree.
"With such a huge gap between you, and the meeting announcing the results happening this afternoon, what chance do you have to surpass her?" Larry said pessimistically.
Sophia smiled faintly and remained silent.
Kathy Caroline sat with another senior designer from a different brand, and the two of them seemed much happier discussing this matter compared to Sophia's side.
Kathy Caroline eagerly anticipated the afternoon, looking forward to seeing Sophia's face filled with defeat.
Around three o'clock in the afternoon, everyone headed to the conference room, and Kathy Caroline caught up to Sophia in a few quick steps.
"Sophia, don't be too disheartened. Your design for this competition is also quite good. Learn from me in the future, and you can become a top designer too."
Sophia was taken aback.
How did Kathy Caroline see that she was feeling disheartened?
Furthermore, Kathy Caroline, who was usually composed, was now showing off her superiority.
Sophia thought only Fiona would do such things.
Sophia smiled faintly and didn't say much to Kathy Caroline.
Everyone thought Sophia had lost, and Fiona smugly waited to see Sophia's defeated face when she came out of the conference room.
She even planned to take out her phone and capture the moment to show Tiffany.
Charlotte and Larry also comforted Sophia with a few words.
Sophia couldn't help but laugh and cry at the same time.
Just how much were they underestimating her?
Margaret also looked at Sophia, worry filling her eyes.
In her opinion, Sophia wouldn't lose too badly, but it would still be quite difficult to beat Kathy Caroline.
Everyone was present, and Gabriel appeared last with Alex.
The sales manager prepared the data and showed it to the CEO.
Gabriel's eyebrows slightly raised after glancing at it, a bit surprised yet seemingly expected.
Then, the sales manager connected the computer to the big screen and opened the data.
"These are the order statistics received after the new product launch, up until two o'clock this afternoon. Take a look, everyone..."
Kathy Caroline couldn't believe her eyes, rubbing them in disbelief.
Did she see it correctly?
She must have been mistaken!
Larry and Charlotte also looked at the big screen incredulously.
A smile formed at the corner of Margaret's mouth.
Indeed, she wasn't wrong about Sophia.
The data showed that the order volume for Sophia's three clothing designs exceeded Kathy Caroline's by forty percent.
"How could this happen? There were so few in the morning," Kathy Caroline couldn't help but say sharply, questioning if the data was incorrect.
The sales manager felt a little annoyed, as she was doubting his business capabilities.
"The data is accurate. At noon, we received dozens of large orders from our previous clients. They had already given up on our brand, but after seeing the video of the new product launch, they chose us again."
Kathy Caroline's face turned extremely ugly, her fingertips holding the pen turned pale.
Invisibly, she felt as if someone had slapped her hard, a burning pain on her face.
The next second, the boss's words felt like another punch to her heart.
"In the future, let Sophia be the main designer for Flora. We are already a month behind our competitors in launching our winter collection. We hope you can speed up the next quarter's new products."
