Chapter 324 Reconciliation
After a while, the secretary brought in a glass of freshly squeezed juice.
Gabriel pointed to Sophia, and the secretary handed the juice to her.
After the secretary left, Gabriel said, "Go on."
Sophia had thought it through in her mind. She took a deep breath and looked directly at Gabriel.
"Let's reconcile for the sake of our children."
Gabriel felt joy in his heart instantly, and there was a hint of tenderness in his eyes.
He waited quietly for Sophia to continue.
"You already have custody of the children. You cannot deprive me of visitation rights. If you continue to do so, I will sue and do everything to get the children back."
"I don't want the children to be hurt because of adult matters. Gabriel, if you truly love the children, you shouldn't be so domineering, let alone let Tiffany be their stepmother."
For the sake of the children, Sophia was willing to set aside everything and reconcile with Gabriel.
However, this reconciliation was only about the children, not about remarrying Gabriel.
"I promise you, Tiffany will never be the mother of the children."
Gabriel's firm words left Sophia momentarily stunned.
He continued. "I also promise not to deprive you of visitation rights."
"For the children, let's reconcile."
Sophia was prepared for the conversation to fail, but she didn't expect it to go so smoothly. Whatever she said, Gabriel agreed to.
He had never been this accommodating before.
Sophia still wasn't entirely at ease. Men's words could be deceiving, so she felt the need to write it down on paper to make it official.
"I'll have the lawyer draft an agreement tomorrow for us to sign as proof."
Gabriel replied, "Sure, no problem."
Sophia took the last sip of juice and prepared to leave.
"I have a condition, too."
Sophia guessed that resolving things wouldn't be so simple!
She glanced at Gabriel and asked patiently, "What condition?"
"I won't allow the children to have stepmothers, and you can't find stepfathers for them either."
"Agreed."
Sophia had never considered finding stepfathers for the children. On one hand, she had given up on marriage, and on the other hand, she was worried about stepfathers not treating the children well.
So, she agreed to this condition without much thought.
Gabriel's eyes lit up a bit.
"If either of us violates the agreement, custody will be given to the other party."
Satisfied with the arrangement, Sophia believed that Gabriel's character would lead him back to Tiffany. If they reunited, it would be a violation of the agreement, and custody would go to her.
Sophia was so happy she wanted to shout.
But soon, she calmed down and cast a skeptical glance at Gabriel's handsome smiling face.
This condition Gabriel proposed, seemingly advantageous to her, might be a trap.
He wouldn't suggest it so easily unless he were confident.
Either he truly wouldn't reunite with Tiffany or marry someone else.
Either way, he was convinced he would lose.
Sophia couldn't understand why Gabriel was so confident.
"Don't you dare make an agreement? Weren't you just promising not to find stepfathers for the children?" Gabriel mocked with a smile.
Sophia couldn't have imagined that Gabriel proposed this condition to prevent her from being with someone else.
As long as Sophia remained single, Gabriel would have a chance to win her back.
Sophia's mind was in turmoil. She saw this as an opportunity to regain custody of the children, especially since Tiffany had her eyes on Gabriel, and Gabriel had divorced Sophia for Tiffany in the past. His love for Tiffany was evident, and he wouldn't easily break up with her.
Leaving Tiffany at the company would prove his feelings for her.
But Sophia also suspected that Gabriel most likely had other schemes.
Regardless, she had decided she would never remarry in her lifetime.
"Fine, I agree!"
"No need to wait until tomorrow. I'll have the legal department draft the contract now, and we can sign it directly."
"Okay."
Gabriel called the company's legal department.
Rarely reaching a consensus, the legal team hurried over and quickly drafted a contract.
After Gabriel and Sophia reviewed it and confirmed the details, they each signed and stamped their names.
The legal advisor said, "I'll take it for notarization tomorrow, and it will have legal effect."
They handed over their contract to the legal advisor, and once it was notarized, the contract would be officially effective.
As Sophia prepared to leave, Gabriel stopped her.
"How's Ruth these days?"
"Ruth is doing well, eating a lot and sleeping soundly."
Gabriel said, "Thank you for taking care of Ruth. In a few days, when she has had enough fun, I'll go pick her up."
"Okay."
This time, Sophia left without any hesitation.
As she came out, everyone was curious, as she had spent a full two hours inside.
"I wonder what Ms. Kelly and Mr. Lancaster were discussing inside; even the legal team went in."
Some gossiped quietly.
"Could it be some dispute?"
"Does Tiffany really owe her one hundred thousand dollars? Is it because of this dispute over one hundred thousand dollars?"
"Maybe."
Today's drama in the CEO's office had spread outside, and the news had quickly circulated. Tiffany owed Sophia one hundred thousand dollars, and the incident about Tiffany regaining her memory had become the talk of the entire company.
Even Larry came over to ask.
"Sophia, does Ms. Foster really owe you fifty thousand?"
Sophia gave a thumbs up for the speed at which the company spread gossip.
"Take a guess."
Larry furrowed his brows. "I can't guess. Just tell me."
"You're so free; why not help me organize some documents?"
Larry shrugged. "Fine, I'll help you organize."
Larry resigned, picked up the documents, and returned to his seat.
He opened his phone and saw that MilkSugar wasn't alive again. He was very disappointed.
His little goddess hadn't been alive for a long time. If she didn't go live soon, all her fans would disappear.
Larry asked every day in the comments section of MilkSugar's Instagram when she would go live.
In the kindergarten, the three children had finally arrived at school.
Josie had been looking forward to seeing Emma and finally welcomed her.
"Emma, I missed you. Where have you been?"
Emma swung her legs with a lollipop in her mouth.
"My mom was sick, so we went to take care of her."
Josie widened her eyes, shocked. "You're so amazing, taking care of your mom."
"Have you never taken care of a sick mom before?"
Josie shook her head. "No, my mom rarely gets sick."
Luckily, Daisy rarely got sick. Every time Daisy got sick, she would scold Josie. If Daisy got often ill, Josie would get scolded frequently.
She wondered if her mom scolded her because she didn't take care of her when she was sick.
"How have you been lately? Is your mom treating you better?"
Josie said, "Very well. My mom gave me snacks now, and my dad even gave me a violin. He also promised to hire Caroline to teach me the violin."
Talking about this made Josie very happy.
She wasn't as afraid of her dad now.
And as long as her dad was at home, she felt incredibly safe sleeping with him.
"I'm going to my dad's company today. Emma, will you come with me?"
