Chapter 350 Why Did the Legs Become Like This?

Josie felt very uncomfortable. Since she was young, she had felt that Daisy was not close to her, but she still liked Daisy and hoped that Daisy would be kinder to her.

Josie shook her head, her voice very soft, accompanied by a faint hint of tears. "I don't want to lose my mom." She didn't want to become a child without a mother.

Daisy wiped away a tear and hugged Josie, her shoulders trembling, but her face showed no emotion.

"You want to learn the violin? I don't object to you learning, but promise me, don't get too close to Caroline, and don't let Caroline get close to your dad, okay?" Daisy said.

Josie hesitated.

Caroline was especially nice, and she always wanted to get closer to her whenever she saw Caroline.

"Josie, you need to understand your mom." Daisy's mother affectionately patted Josie's head.

In the end, Josie nodded slowly.

Ten minutes later, Daisy held Josie's hand and sent her parents off.

"Josie, how about sleeping with me tonight?" Daisy looked at Josie gently.

Josie's eyes widened in shock. Daisy had never liked sleeping with her. Whenever there was thunder, Josie was especially scared. She would cry in the middle of the night and go to Daisy, who would scold her harshly and then send her back to her room. But tonight, Daisy actually suggested sleeping together.

This was something Josie had always looked forward to, but now she didn't want it at all. However, she didn't dare to defy Daisy's wishes, so she let Daisy lead her upstairs to Daisy's room.

Gummidge watched Daisy and Josie getting closer with a content smile.

"Over the years, Daisy has put in a lot of effort for Josie, hoping that Nicholas will see Daisy's true feelings and accept her," Gummidge said.

Aragorn sneered.

Ashley returned home exhausted.

"Ashley, how did it go? Did you find Paul?" Gummidge asked.

Ashley, with red eyes, replied, "I asked his old friends, and they all said they hadn't seen Paul. I've searched everywhere he could have gone."

"Paul is grown up now; he shouldn't be in trouble. Don't worry too much," Gummidge comforted her.

"Paul returned to the country with very little cash, no cards, and his phone hadn't been turned on. He must be out of money now, and I don't know what he's eating or where he's staying," Ashley said.

Paul was Ashley's only beloved child, pampered since childhood, which led to his spoiled nature, only knowing how to spend money without earning it and causing trouble everywhere.

When the two families arranged for Ashley to marry Daniel, Ashley was very satisfied with marrying Daniel, but Daniel ended up breaking off the engagement.

Ashley's self-esteem was hurt, feeling embarrassed; she impulsively found Joseph Thomas, who was working for the Watson family at the time, and married him decisively. Before the Watson family could object, Ashley and Joseph secretly got married.

That day, Ashley and Joseph agreed that any children they had would take Ashley's surname. At that time, Joseph was willing to promise anything to marry Ashley.

With the situation set, the Watson family had to groom Joseph and even sent him and Ashley to settle in Country Y.

With the help of the Watson family, Joseph successfully started a business in Country Y and was now a wealthy man. However, their only child, Paul, was very disobedient, causing trouble everywhere. Last time, he interfered in matters and angered the local big shots, who threatened to make Paul and his family disappear in Country Y.

Joseph was almost driven crazy by Paul, and Ashley realized the seriousness of the situation. When Paul ran back to the country, she immediately followed to bring him back to apologize. Many days had passed, and there was no news of Paul. Ashley's initial intention of returning to the country had gradually changed.

Paul had never experienced hardship and had never been without money. Ashley was now more worried about her son suffering and going hungry.

Paul was happily dancing with beautiful women in the bar, and after dancing, he went to the bar to drink.

"I still prefer the beauties in my home country." Paul leaned against the bar, his eyes slightly narrowed as he watched the women dancing not far away.

"You've been abroad for so long; you haven't seen the beauties in your home country for a long time, so naturally, you think the local ones are the most beautiful," his friend said, patting Paul's shoulder.

"Want to take a beauty home tonight?" He gave Paul a suggestive glance.

Paul pushed him away.

"Get lost."

Paul ate well, drank well, and had a great time, carefree and happy.

Meanwhile, Nicholas worked late and only returned home very late.

Daisy listened for any noise and went downstairs. "Nicholas."

Nicholas ignored her, and Charles escorted him to Josie's room.

"Josie isn't in her room," Daisy quickly said. "She's sleeping with me tonight."

Nicholas looked at her with a cold gaze.

Daisy smiled brightly and happily. "Josie usually likes to sleep alone, but today, I don't know why; she wanted to sleep with me."

Nicholas gestured for Charles to take him to check. Daisy's room was on the second floor, and there was an elevator inside the villa for Nicholas's convenience.

Josie was already asleep, curled up in bed. Daisy gently adjusted her blanket. "Nicholas, my family came to visit tonight."

Nicholas suddenly looked over, startling Daisy, who quickly tried to recall what she had just said wrong. "Nicholas, I..."

Nicholas gave her another cold look.

Daisy fell silent, not daring to speak.

Seeing Josie peacefully asleep, Nicholas's frosty expression gradually softened. He leaned over, carefully picked up Josie, and then carried her out of Daisy's room.

This was Nicholas's first time in Daisy's room. Daisy was initially happy and wanted to talk more with him, but Nicholas carried Josie out.

Daisy followed. Nicholas carried Josie back to his room.

Josie remained asleep throughout, and as Nicholas held her, she softly muttered something in her sleep.

Charles came out of Nicholas's room, closed the door, and was about to leave when Daisy stopped him.

"Charles, I need your help with something." Daisy looked embarrassed.

"What is it?" Charles asked.

"Can you retrieve the surveillance footage of when Caroline hit me in the meeting room?" Daisy was very resentful after Caroline had beaten her and wanted Caroline to pay.

"I'm sorry, but I can't just release surveillance footage to outsiders." Charles refused without hesitation.

"I'm not an outsider; I'm Nicholas's fiancée, and I'll be his wife in the future," Daisy pleaded urgently.

"Even so, I can't do that," Charles said.

Daisy was so angry with Charles that she wanted to hit him. She quickly calmed down and tried to think of a solution.

"Don't you want to know why Nicholas's leg ended up like that?"
