Chapter 35 The Good Man at Home

Sophia's words made Tiffany lose face, and she couldn't confront Sophia, otherwise her carefully maintained image would be ruined.

Yesterday's incident made her a laughingstock, and Tiffany was itching with anger.

She put on a sympathetic look and said, "I understand, are you trying to quit sugar and lose weight?"

"Yes," Sophia wouldn't give her the upper hand. Tiffany was indirectly calling her fat.

Tiffany: "Keep it up."

"Thank you."

Tiffany felt like punching a cotton ball. Feeling dissatisfied, she left the design department and as soon as she was in a place without anyone, the smile on her face disappeared instantly.

"Sophia, I will definitely make you roll out of Lancaster in disgrace!"

...

As soon as it was time to leave work, Sophia rushed out. The two little rascals arrived home earlier than her. Emma threw her backpack on the sofa as soon as she entered the door and went to the study to find her iPad.

Ethan, on the other hand, neatly put away his backpack and went to the kitchen to find something to eat, placing it on the coffee table.

"I want to use Mommy's computer. If Mommy comes back, remember to tell me."

After giving instructions, Ethan went to the study, while Emma simulated a competition in the living room, ears perked up to listen to any sounds outside, occasionally taking a piece of fruit that Ethan had cleaned and eating it.

In the study, Ethan's chubby little hands danced on the keyboard, his round baby face tense with seriousness. The computer screen was filled with code, which changed as Ethan typed.

Finally, he successfully hacked through the Lancaster Group's firewall.

Gabriel was in the middle of a video conference when the screen suddenly went black. Gabriel furrowed his brows, pressing the shortcut button on the phone.

"What's wrong with the computer?"

IT Director: "There's been a hacker intrusion, we are dealing with it urgently."

Being such a large corporation, Lancaster faces numerous hacker intrusions every day. However, the IT team that Gabriel hired wasn't for show. They had protected the Lancaster Group like a fortress for years.

But this time, they were actually breached!

Gabriel's gaze darkened. It seemed like they had become too complacent over the years, relaxing their vigilance.

Five minutes later, the computer resumed normal operation. The IT Director came to report the situation to Gabriel, his chubby body trembling with cold sweat covering his face.

"Sorry, boss, it was our negligence this time." He apologized as soon as he entered, and then began to report, "This hacker was extremely skilled. We almost traced his IP address, but he managed to redirect it at the last moment. We only tracked it to an internet café."

"Internet café?" This was obviously a false address to mislead.

As soon as Gabriel spoke, an endless aura of intimidation emanated from him, causing the IT Director's legs to tremble.

"Fortunately, there was no significant damage this time. We discovered and expelled the hacker before he could breach our important hard drives."

Gabriel glanced at him coldly.
"Pursed lips opened and closed mercilessly: 'Six months of bonus.'"

"Why so much deducted?" The IT director winced while simultaneously letting out a sigh of relief.

"Yes." The IT director locked his neck like a quail.

This time they had indeed been negligent, but the opponent was also formidable.

"Leave." Gabriel lowered his gaze and looked at the documents on the table.

On the other side, Ethan nervously patted his chest.

He was scared to death, almost being traced back to his IP address. Luckily he was clever and quickly thought of a cybercafe he had seen before, so he changed the address to that one.

There were too many experts in the company who were after him.

If he could start his own company in the future, how great would it be to recruit so many experts.

Ethan secretly set another small goal for himself.

Checking the time, Ethan quickly shut down the computer as his mom would be back soon.

By the time Sophia returned, Ethan had already picked and even prepared the vegetables.

Sophia lovingly touched Ethan's head, "Is my Ethan going to become a good homemaker in the future?"

Ethan raised his head in confusion, "What is a good homemaker?"

"It means being able to help with household chores in addition to being able to handle things in formal settings. Foster family is also responsible." She didn't know if Ethan understood what she meant.

Ethan seemed to understand but not entirely, "Then I want to be a good homemaker. I will sweep and wash dishes every day, help mom with cooking, so she won't have to work so hard when she comes home from work."

"Aw, you truly are my thoughtful little coat." Sophia bent down and kissed Ethan on the forehead.

Alright, Emma witnessed this scene, dropped her iPad, and ran over with a weird expression on her face, "I want to do household chores too."

Sophia affectionately kissed Emma on the forehead as well and then chuckled secretly.

But when she thought of Sam, she couldn't laugh.

It would be wonderful if Sam were here too, all three kids together.

She hadn't told Ethan and Emma about Sam's existence, now wasn't the right time.

She would wait until she completely won custody over Sam before telling them, otherwise, if they met too soon, she was afraid Ethan and Emma would be exposed to Gabriel.
Now she was being extremely cautious every day, worried that Gabriel would find out about Ethan and Emma's existence at any moment.

But she couldn't just leave Ethan and Emma alone in M Country. For now, she could only keep a low profile at the company and focus on building her brand, so Gabriel wouldn't have any grounds to trouble her. She also reduced her conflicts with Gabriel.

Every day, Sophia lived for the sake of the three children.

After dinner, Sophia looked at the calendar, and with one more day of work, she would finally be able to see Sam.

The thought made her extremely excited.

The next day, Sophia had no concentration to work.

Fortunately, she had just started her job and didn't have many tasks.

She took the opportunity to study all of Flora's previous designs.

Flora was a well-known Lancaster's flagship menswear brand takes a high-end route. People who can afford to buy these clothes have strict requirements for quality and design. The previous chief designer was poached by someone, and the brand has been declining ever since.

Now, the new chief designer is Kathy Caroline. Additionally, there are two other designers, Charlotte and Larry, who joined earlier than her.

She doesn't know how Larry's work is, but she thinks Kathy Caroline and Charlotte are pretty good.

Yesterday, the four of them already met. All three of them seem nice, and Sophia is quite excited to work with them.

"Sophia."

Suddenly, she heard someone call her name. Sophia lifted her head in confusion, not recognizing the person, and politely asked, "Who are you?"

"I'm Fiona, the senior designer from the women's brand NM." She threw a document onto Sophia's sketch and arrogantly said, "Make fifteen copies for me and deliver them to Meeting Room 5. I'll need them for the meeting later."

Without giving Sophia a chance to respond, she swayed away.

Sophia: ...

Charlotte and Larry looked concerned and Charlotte kindly reminded Sophia, "She likes to treat you junior designers as interns, and she has a good relationship with Miss Foster. No one dares to offend her."
