Chapter 39 Confronting Tiffany

"Tiffany, how come they look like a family to me?" Tiffany's friend, Tina, watched the scene with malicious intentions, pouring fuel onto the fire without any consideration.

Tiffany took advantage of being Gabriel's girlfriend to infiltrate the upper class circle. If it weren't for this status, she wouldn't waste her time becoming friends with Tiffany.

Seeing this scene today, Tina was overjoyed.

Is Gabriel tired of Tiffany?

Tiffany felt sick to her stomach. Her original intention was to use Tina as a cover, but she didn't expect Tina, this double-dealing person, to mock her.

"They're just discussing work. Sam rarely likes someone, and Gabriel wants him to interact with strangers more for Sam's sake. Don't make wild guesses," Tiffany said, showing her displeasure.

Tina secretly smiled.

As Tiffany looked over, she felt more and more uncomfortable seeing Sophia and Sam getting along well. She felt like she was being pricked by a needle.

She couldn't let Sam continue to interact with Sophia.

Tiffany suddenly got up and walked over.

"Sam, are you finished eating?" She looked gently at Sam.

Sam's eyes, which had just shown a hint of a smile, instantly lost their light, and he instinctively flinched.

Sophia, who had all her attention on Sam, noticed his reaction and felt very puzzled.
Is Sam afraid of Tiffany?

"That toy you told Aunt Gu about last time is being sold nearby. If you're finished eating, I can take you to buy it," Tiffany said.

Sam instinctively wanted to resist going with Tiffany, but he didn't dare to disobey her.

Tiffany came over to hold him, and after hesitating for a moment, Sam jumped off the sofa.
Gabriel glanced curiously at Tiffany but didn't object to her actions.

"I'll go too," Sophia grabbed her bag and wanted to follow.

Tiffany stopped in her tracks. "Miss Kelly probably hasn't eaten much yet. I'll take Sam to buy the toy and then come back."

Sophia smiled lightly. "I've eaten little, and I'm already full. It's a good time to digest."

As the two locked eyes, Gabriel felt a headache coming on. Tiffany was becoming more and more unreasonable.

He could see through her little tricks.

He put down some money and picked up Sam, carrying him in his arms.

"Didn't I say, if you like something, tell Daddy."

Sam nodded.

"Daddy will take you to buy it."

With that, he walked away carrying the child, and Sophia hurried to catch up.

She hadn't spent enough time with Sam yet.

Tiffany quickly followed, leaving Tina behind.

Looking at Tina, who didn't seem annoyed at being abandoned by Tiffany, she even took out her phone and took a picture.

This is so much fun.

Tiffany originally wanted to take Sam out for a stroll, warning him to stay away from Sophia, and then casually buy a toy to distract Gabriel.

But now, not only Sophia followed, but Gabriel also personally carried Sam and went to buy him a toy.

Along the way, the three adults had their own thoughts. When they arrived at a nearby mall, Gabriel walked straight into a toy store and asked Sam, "Which one do you want?"

Sam had no idea which one he wanted.

He looked around and didn't want any of them.
These toys weren't fun, he would rather draw.

"This one, it's this one." Tiffany casually picked up the largest children's drone in the store.

Gabriel went to check out.

Sophia silently watched on the side, squinting her eyes, meaningfully staring at Tiffany.

"Do I have something wrong with me?" Tiffany felt guilty under Sophia's gaze.

"No, Miss Foster is very refined and generous." Sophia smiled insincerely.
She could be sure that buying toys was just an excuse Tiffany made up, she didn't want her to have contact with Sam, right?

Huh, who does Tiffany think she is!
...
Although Sophia didn't want to, it was time to separate from Sam.

She wanted to take Sam out to play, but whenever Tiffany appeared, Sam would always be led by Tiffany or carried by Gabriel, and she didn't even have a chance to connect with him.

"Sam." Sophia walked over with a smiling face, took out the gift she had prepared from her bag, and said, "This golden bracelet was specially crafted for you by Auntie. When you wear it, it's like I'm by your side protecting you and giving you courage."

She wanted to put it on Sam, but Tiffany secretly pinched Sam, causing Sam to instinctively hide behind Tiffany.

Sophia stood still, her actions suspended in mid-air, feeling as if her heart had been stabbed.

What if the child doesn't accept it?

She looked at Gabriel, eventually gritted her teeth, and continued to smile at Sam.

"Auntie, can I put it on you?"

Sam cautiously peeked out and glanced at the bracelet.

He remembered that Ethan had the exact same bracelet on her hand.
Was it also from her?

Ethan had such a good mother, but he didn't.

Sam felt extremely lost in his heart, and the hand being held by Tiffany once again felt a tinge of pain. He instinctively shrunk back.

"Sam, don't be afraid. If you don't want to wear it, that's okay." Seeing the child now more scared of her than when they first met, Sophia couldn't bear it and didn't dare to insist on the child wearing the bracelet.

She was about to take it back when Sam slowly reached out his tender little hand.

The pain struck again, this time even more intense than before, but Sam quietly endured it.

He mustered up the courage to go against his aunt's wishes; he really wanted that bracelet.
With this bracelet, he wondered if it represented...

Is he also someone who has a mother who loves him? Tiffany's pupils slowly dilated, and she squeezed Sam's hand harder, as if she wanted to crush that small hand. But no matter how she threatened in secret, Sam didn't back down.

This made Tiffany even more dissatisfied in her heart. Sophia crouched down to put a bracelet on Sam and looked at his skinny arms with immense tenderness. She secretly vowed to raise Sam into a chubby child in the future.

In the blink of an eye, Sophia's face changed dramatically. She grabbed Tiffany's hand, who was holding Sam's hand.

"What are you doing? Let go, quickly let go," Sophia pinched Tiffany hard, and Tiffany screamed in pain before letting go of Sam's hand. Sophia looked and saw bruises and a few marks on it.

"Snap!" Sophia did not hesitate to slap Tiffany's face, like a protective mother tiger, with fur standing on end, and she pulled Sam behind her for protection.

Everything happened so suddenly that Gabriel couldn't react. Just as Sophia was about to strike again, Gabriel grabbed her hand in time. "What are you doing!?"

He coldly questioned. Sophia's moist apricot eyes turned scarlet.

"You should ask her first. Sam is so small, with such thin wrists. Is she trying to break his hand by squeezing so hard?"

"Let me see." Gabriel released her, walked over to Sam, and spoke in a gentle voice. Sam put his hand behind his back, shook his head to indicate that he was fine.
