Chapter 726 Reversal

"Sit," Jake said with a smile, pointing to the chair in front of Gabriel.

His gaze shifted downward, and he noticed a wet spot on Gabriel's black clothes.

He took a deep breath, as if he could smell a hint of blood.

Jake's smile deepened.

"You already know that I'm your younger brother, right?" Jake handed over a cup of tea.

Gabriel didn't take it, and his face was expressionless, as if a fire was burning between them.

Jake, still smiling, withdrew the cup.

"Where's Sophia?" Gabriel repeated the question.

He didn't want to waste time talking about family matters with Jake.

Jake took a sip of tea, unhurried.

"I envy you," Jake said, not answering the question, "I also resent you. You were born into a wealthy family, loved by everyone, and even have a wife who loves you deeply. She gave you three adorable children."

Gabriel's fists clenched tighter. If he could, he would have punched Jake hard.

"I could have had all of that too, but the Lancaster family didn't want me."

"The Lancaster family let my mother die and discarded me like trash."

Jake would never forget the scene of his mother, Calliope Hughes, dragging her sick body to the Lancaster Manor for the last time, begging his father, Caleb Lancaster, on her knees. Caleb had her thrown out and called Jake a bastard.

Jake said, "After all these years, isn't it time for me to get what belongs to me?"

A cold light flashed in Gabriel's eyes as he spoke icily, "What do you want?"

Jake's lips curled into a smile, which was similar to Gabriel's.

"I want the entire Lancaster Group."

Gabriel didn't hesitate, perhaps he had already anticipated Jake's intentions.

"Fine, but I need to see Sophia safe and sound."

Gabriel thought, 'Without Sophia, what was the point of holding onto the vast Lancaster Group?'

Jake was stunned. He thought Gabriel would at least take some time to consider.

He didn't expect him to agree so readily.

But...

"You might not have realized the current situation. You no longer have the leverage to negotiate."

Jake's eyes signaled to Gabriel that the place was filled with his men, making Gabriel a lamb to the slaughter.

"Oh, I forgot to tell you, there's a jammer within a 5-mile radius. Your phone lost its signal the moment you stepped in."

Gabriel sneered, "Do you think that if I die, you can inherit all my assets? I've already made a will. You won't succeed."

Jake was stunned again. He wondered, 'Who would have thought that someone as young as Gabriel would have already made a will?'

That indeed made things complicated.

Gabriel said, "Release Sophia and let her return to the Blackwood family. I can change the will, or even personally hand everything over to you."

"Then you can take my life whenever you want."

Jake fell silent.

Gabriel was secretly calculating the time, and wondering how things were going on Alex's end.

"I need to see how Sophia is," Gabriel demanded again.

At the very least, he needed to see Sophia safe with his own eyes before he died.

Jake frowned, thought for a moment, then picked up his phone and operated it before showing it to Gabriel.

In the video, Sophia lay motionless on a bed.

"Sophia!"

Gabriel's eyes turned even redder with rage as he glared at Jake.

Gabriel shouted, "What did you do to her?"

Jake replied, "She's just asleep."

Gabriel, in his fury, grabbed Jake by the collar, his handsome face looking terrifying.

He warned sternly, "If you harm her, I will make you pay dearly!"

Jake sneered, "I wouldn't dare harm her. After all, once you're dead, she'll be my wife."

Gabriel punched Jake in the face.

Jake's men quickly surrounded them, ready to beat Gabriel, but Jake raised his hand to stop them.

Jake tilted his head, wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth with his fingers. He looked at Gabriel with resentment and then raised his hand to strike Gabriel.

Gabriel and Jake started to fight.

Gabriel's body was already at its limit. Under normal circumstances, he could have fought Jake evenly, but now he was no match for Jake and was soon knocked to the ground.

Jake swiftly and accurately stomped on Gabriel's post-surgery wound.

Gabriel's body twisted in pain, the veins on his face and forehead bulging.

Blood gushed from the wound.

Jake removed his foot, seeing the blood on his shoe, and showed a look of disgust.

He walked to the table, picked up a fruit knife, and slowly walked back to Gabriel, squatting down.

Gabriel lay on the ground in pain, blood pooling around him. His vision darkened, and his consciousness faded.

"Gabriel, as long as you die, Sophia and her three children can live."

"As for the will, I have my ways to deal with it."

Whether Gabriel heard him or not, Jake raised the knife.

The sharp blade glinted under the light.

Suddenly, Gabriel grabbed his wrist.

Jake thought he was resisting and immediately pushed the knife down a bit, but realized Gabriel's grip was weak, so he stopped.

Gabriel's pale lips moved, "I'll... I'll give you the Lancaster Group, everything, just let Sophia go."

Seeing Gabriel still thinking about Sophia in his dying moments, and he was willing to give up everything for her, Jake felt a complex emotion.

Suddenly, there was a commotion outside, and Jake's eyes narrowed.

"Your backup arrived so quickly!"

Jake prepared to kill Gabriel with a swift strike.

At that moment, Gabriel tightened his grip on Jake's wrist. Taking advantage of Jake's momentary distraction, Gabriel deftly reversed the knife.

The sound of the knife piercing flesh was faint, but they both seemed to hear it.

Jake looked at Gabriel in disbelief, then at the knife embedded in his own body.

"Jake!"

Owen, seeing Jake injured, rushed over and kicked Gabriel.

Gabriel had used the last of his strength to stab Jake, and Owen's kick made him see stars.

Owen supported Jake, whose lips had turned pale.

"Go!" Jake gritted out.

With people about to break in, there was no time to finish off Gabriel. Owen, worried about Jake's injury, quickly helped him and his men escape through another door.
