Chapter 647 New Discovery

Finding out who spilled the beans on Gabriel's schedule wasn't rocket science.

Alex had his hunches, but he didn't see Dylan pinning it on someone else coming.

He got what Gabriel was hinting at.

Gabriel had probably already pieced it together and was giving him a heads-up about his zero-tolerance for betrayal.

Alex's face got more serious.

The next day, Gabriel had a follow-up at the hospital, and Sophia tagged along.

After a bunch of tests, they headed to the doctor's office.

The doc looked over the reports and said, "Mr. Lancaster, your injuries are healing nicely, and everything else looks good for now."

Then he rattled off a list of precautions.

As they were leaving, Gabriel played the weak card, wanting Sophia to help him out.

Sophia called him out, "The doctor said you're recovering well and have no other issues."

Gabriel gritted his teeth. "But I'm still a patient."

He grabbed Sophia's hand and, without giving her a chance to refuse, leaned his head on her shoulder.

Sophia stayed quiet.

She suddenly found him kinda childish.

But she liked it.

Gabriel wanted to lean on her but didn't want to be a burden, so he walked funny, leaning on her, catching the eyes of passersby.

Finally, they made it to the parking lot and got in the car.

"It's getting late; let's grab some food."

Sophia said, "Okay."

Gabriel asked, "How about that restaurant today?"

Sophia nodded.

Just then, her phone rang. She glanced at it and quickly said, "I have something urgent. I can't join you for dinner. You go ahead."

Sophia tried to get out of the car before Alex started driving, but Gabriel grabbed her wrist.

Gabriel asked, "What's the urgent matter? Need my help?"

Sophia hesitated for a second and said, "I can handle it. The doctor said you shouldn't skip meals. Go eat with Alex."

Gabriel wanted to say more, but Sophia brushed off his hand and hurried away without looking back.

Watching her rush off, Gabriel felt uneasy.

When problems came up, Sophia still chose to handle them herself and never thought of leaning on him.

It left him feeling frustrated and helpless.

Alex turned slightly. "Mr. Lancaster."

Gabriel raised his hand. "Let's go eat."

Gabriel stayed quiet and lost in thought during the drive, while Alex got a call, his face growing more serious.

After hanging up, Alex reported to Gabriel.

"Mr. Lancaster, there are new leads in Alfred's case."

Alfred's death was officially pinned on the late Raskolnikov, but Gabriel always thought Raskolnikov was just a fall guy, so he kept digging.

Now, there was finally a new lead.

Gabriel noticed Alex hadn't finished and asked, "What else?"

Alex added, "The new lead might be tied to Miss Foster."

Gabriel snorted, "I don't care who it's tied to, dig into it!"

"Yes, sir!" Sophia quickly took a cab to a coffee shop. As soon as she walked in, Caroline saw her and waved.

Sophia walked over.

Caroline pointed across the room.

"Look over there, Tiffany and Marlowe are still negotiating with the owner. I guess they want to start a new business."

Sophia smirked, "No way I'm letting her succeed."

She had vowed to make it impossible for Tiffany to stay in City B.

After the mess in Country M, Tiffany's live stream followers had tanked, and her streaming career was circling the drain.

Now she wanted to start a new business with Dylan's lover.

Sophia wasn't about to let that happen.

She sat down and waited patiently until Tiffany finished her chat with the shop owner and left.

Only then did she and Caroline approach the owner.

An hour later, Tiffany got a call saying the shop she was banking on was no longer available.

Tiffany was livid.

Desperate, she tried finding another shop, but every attempt hit a dead end.

She finally realized something was up.

It felt like someone was deliberately blocking her.

The first person she thought of was Sophia.

So she went to the entrance of Fusion Dynamics Corporation and waited for her.

"Sophia, you bitch! If you have the guts, compete with me openly. Why use dirty tricks?"

Tiffany pointed at Sophia's nose, fuming.

Sophia rolled her eyes.

"Got any proof?"

"You must've contacted those landlords, telling them not to rent to me. Sophia, you're despicable and shameless." Tiffany was so mad she could barely breathe.

Sophia, calm as ever, looked at Tiffany like she was a joke.

"Yeah, I contacted them. So what?"

"You!"

Sophia's blunt confession left Tiffany speechless.

Sophia stepped closer, her presence intimidating, making Tiffany step back.

"I'll make sure you can't rent a shop or start a business."

"Don't push me too far!" Tiffany pulled out her phone, "Believe it or not, I'll expose your true colors!"

"Then I'll expose your shameless attempt to get pregnant with Gabriel's child in Country M!" Sophia pulled out her phone and played a video.

The video showed Tiffany being thrown out of a hospital and a nurse's confession.

Tiffany's eyes widened, and she started trembling.

"You..."

If this video went online, she'd lose everything, and her streaming career would be toast.

Seeing Tiffany's pale face, Sophia still felt it wasn't enough.

She didn't have solid proof that Tiffany had harmed Sam, but she knew Tiffany was behind it, so she wasn't holding back.

Plus, Tiffany had brought this on herself.

"Let me tell you, I made the landlords refuse to rent to you the first time, but after that, I didn't do anything."

Tiffany glared at her. "Don't try to dodge responsibility!"

"I don't need to dodge because I didn't do it. But you, with all your sins and crimes, can't escape." Sophia sneered, "Believe it or not, Gabriel was the one who made sure you couldn't rent a shop the last few times."

Tiffany's face turned even paler.

She thought, 'Could Gabriel be trying to get me to leave City B and completely drive me out?'

"I don't believe it! Gabriel wouldn't do this to me." Tiffany raised her hand to grab Sophia. "It's all your fault, you bitch!"

Sophia had been ready and quickly dodged, then grabbed Tiffany's wrist and skillfully threw her over her shoulder.

Tiffany hit the ground, too pained to even scream.

Sophia twisted her waist. It felt like she was going to pull a muscle. She hadn't used that move in ages.
