Chapter 364 Holding a Grudge Against the Lancaster Family

The call was from Ruth, who cheerfully asked if the kids were having fun.

"Gabriel, keep an eye on a guy named Jake," Ruth said somewhat seriously.

Gabriel felt a twinge of confusion. Did his grandmother know Jake?

"Do you know him?" Gabriel asked.

"I'm not sure about his identity yet," Ruth replied.

'If he really is that kid, now appearing under a false name and unwilling to admit his identity, he might do something harmful to the Lancaster family.'

The events of that year were too complicated, and Jake probably harbored resentment towards the Lancaster family.

Gabriel frowned. 'Could it be that Jake's parents had a hostile relationship with the Lancaster family?'

Ruth remembered that Jake was pursuing Sophia and couldn't help but worry. "You need to protect Sophie. I'm concerned he has ulterior motives for getting close to her."

Gabriel said seriously, "I understand."

After hanging up, Gabriel saw the calendar displayed on his phone.

'Today...' A hint of worry flashed in his eyes.

Around eight o'clock, Sophia and the kids got up, had breakfast, and went out for a stroll. They were supposed to head back in the afternoon.

She called to order breakfast.

Looking at the breakfast on the table, Sophia was a bit puzzled.

"I didn't order milk. Did you deliver it to the wrong room?"

"No mistake. Mr. Lancaster ordered it for you." The waiter placed all the dishes on the table and then left with the cart.

"Mommy, is your stomach hurting again?" Emma asked.

Previously, when Sophia had a stomachache, Caroline made milk for her, and Sophia felt much better.

Later, when Caroline wasn't around, Emma and Ethan made milk for Sophia whenever she had a stomachache.

The milk was steaming.

Sophia had said that drinking milk they made and hugging them made her feel no pain at all.

Sophia was momentarily stunned.

She remembered the time she had her period, and Gabriel bought her sanitary pads and milk.

Sophia calculated the days and realized today was the same date as that day.

Did he think she was on her period today and specifically instructed the waiter to bring milk?

But at that time, her period was delayed due to stress. She had since returned to normal, and her period had just ended this month.

However, she didn't plan to explain this to Gabriel.

There was nothing to explain because she didn't want to accept his belated concern.

She only needed her three children.

As for Gabriel, she didn't need him.

"I don't have a stomachache today, so I can play with you all," Sophia gently explained to the kids.

The three kids sighed in relief.

The doorbell rang, and Sophia went to answer it.

Gabriel was standing there with a bag.

"For you."

Through the transparent bag, Sophia saw it contained sanitary pads.

"Thank you, but I don't need them." Her tone was distant yet polite.

Her distance hurt Gabriel, and his eyes were full of concern. "If your stomach feels uncomfortable, using this will help."

Emma, who had somehow hidden behind Sophia, peeked out.

"Daddy, Mommy's stomach doesn't hurt today."

Gabriel smiled and said, "I see. Where are you planning to go today?"

"Mommy said she's taking us to the aquarium to see the big whales."

"I'm not busy; I'll go with you."

"Great, Daddy, come in quickly."

With Emma's enthusiastic invitation, Gabriel stayed for breakfast.

Sophia remained silent.

When they went out, Jake was waiting by the car.

"Sophia." Jake waved.

Sophia walked over with Ethan and Sam.

Gabriel, holding Emma, narrowed his eyes dangerously.

Jake was really persistent!

"Jake."

Jake said, "Emma, I'm also going to the aquarium. Do you want to ride in my car?"

Emma looked at her daddy and then at Jake.

After hesitating, she hugged Gabriel's neck.

"I'll go with Daddy."

Sam let go of Sophia's hand and walked towards Gabriel.

Gabriel gave Jake a disdainful look.

"Mommy, Ethan, come over here," Emma called.

Ethan looked up at Sophia and saw her frowning, looking a bit troubled. He immediately said to Jake, "Jake, I need to take care of Emma and Sam. We'll see you at the aquarium."

Jake patted Ethan's head and smiled, "Alright, I understand. I don't want to trouble your mommy either. You go with Sophia."

Sophia felt troubled.

She couldn't leave the kids and ride alone with Jake, which was inappropriate for a mother.

In this round, Gabriel won.

At the aquarium, the three kids saw Jake holding three whale toys from a distance.

"Jake." Emma ran over first.

Jake handed the toys to them.

"Such cute whale toys."

Gabriel thought, 'Despicable!'

Inside the aquarium, the kids were amazed by the big whales.

"There's a story about the big whale. Do you want to hear it?" Jake said mysteriously.

Emma was the first to respond, "Yes, I want to hear it."

Ethan and Sam also showed interest.

"Several hundred years ago, there was a big whale."

The three kids gathered around Jake, listening intently.

Sophia, holding a camera, took pictures and also listened to a few sentences. She found herself drawn into Jake's story.

Gabriel was furious. How could Jake come up with such a lousy story?

"The whale turned into a little girl when it came ashore for the first time. The little whale was very excited..."

Seeing the kids listening so attentively, Gabriel couldn't bear to interrupt and stood gloomily to the side.

The kids played in the aquarium all morning. Whenever they saw some rare marine animals, Jake would make up a story.

At noon, they went to a restaurant for lunch. Sophia took the kids inside first, and Gabriel stopped Jake.

"Don't you have anything else to do?" Gabriel said coldly.

Jake smiled and said, "I'm usually quite busy, but today I'm not."

"This is a family trip. Please don't be an eyesore."

Jake calmly replied, "Sophia and I are friends, very good friends. Sophia doesn't find me an eyesore. In fact, she finds you more of an eyesore."

Gabriel felt frustrated. Considering Sophia's current attitude towards him, he had to admit that Jake seemed to be telling the truth.

'Damn it!Next time, I must make sure Jake isn't around to ruin my trip with Sophia and kids!'

In the afternoon, Sophia and the kids were heading back, and Jake came to the train station to see them off.

"Jake, aren't you coming back?" Emma asked.

"I have some things to do. I'll come back later to tell you more stories."

"Okay, bye, Jake."

Watching Sophia's back, Jake was filled with reluctance.

As soon as they disappeared from sight, the warm and sunny Jake was replaced by a cold and gloomy Jake.
