Chapter 101 Bullied
They went everywhere together, appearing truly affectionate.
The thought of Wendy's tweet about changing bandages made Lillian feel nauseous.
Jackson's gaze fell on Lillian, causing her to lower her eyes immediately. She picked up the utensils and placed them in front of Shirley and Barry.
"Jackson! Are you just going to watch them bully me?" Jenny shouted, but Jackson remained unresponsive, which left her dissatisfied.
Jackson's eyes were still on Lillian. As soon as she saw him, her smile disappeared, and she began to attentively care for other men.
His handsome face turned sullen slightly, and he withdrew his gaze.
"How are they bullying you?"
"I saw Barry and Lillian looking happy together, so I went to greet them. But when Lillian's friend came up, she tried to splash water on me. Lillian didn't help me and even mocked me." Jenny complained, full of grievances and nonsense.
Lillian stood up, walked over, and looked at Jackson mockingly with a proud expression, saying, "Jackson, why are you with these two women?"
Wendy's eyes reddened. "Is Lillian angry?"
"I'm not." Lillian looked innocent.
"Then why are you talking to Jackson like that? You must have misunderstood." Jenny felt that Lillian's words just now sounded familiar. Realizing this, she quickly pulled Wendy away.
Wendy turned her head and saw Jenny looking anxious. She was puzzled, while Jenny cursed her in her heart.
Lillian smirked. "You misunderstood. I was just greeting you all, using the same greeting style as Miss Jenny!"
Wendy felt embarrassed, and Jenny was on the verge of tears.
Jackson's cold gaze turned toward her. "Do you call that happily greeting someone?"
Jenny felt embarrassed and wronged. Wendy opened her mouth to speak up for her, but it was she who had criticized Lillian's attitude earlier.
"Apologize!" Jackson coldly ordered Jenny.
Jenny bit her lips, unwilling to comply.
Lillian coldly waved her hand. "Forget it, I can't stand it. Just don't disturb us while we're eating."
She turned to leave, but Jackson grabbed her wrist.
"Jenny." Jackson's voice was gentle but displeased.
Jenny looked up with red eyes. "I'm sorry."
"Sorry, to whom?" Jackson's patience was wearing thin.
Tears streamed down Jenny's face. This time, she had to be more sincere in her apology, at least on the surface. "Lillian, I'm sorry for disturbing your meal."
Lillian nodded indifferently, struggling to free her hand and gesturing for Jackson to let go.
Jackson looked at Shirley and Barry. "Since we've run into each other, let's go to the private room together."
Lillian pulled her hand away. "No need, we've already ordered."
Wendy smiled and said, "The waiter can bring the food to the private room. Lillian, let's go together. I'm leaving soon, and we haven't had a meal together yet."
She tried to link arms with Lillian, but Lillian raised her hand to avoid it, showing clear annoyance. "No need."
Wendy bit her lips. "Are you still mad at me?"
Shirley came over and put her arm around Lillian's shoulder.
"Ms. Wendy, you are always full of thoughts. I'm socially anxious and can't digest well when eating with unfamiliar people. Of course, Lillian has concerns."
She led Lillian away, and Jackson's gaze lingered on Barry for a moment before leaving with his group.
Lillian sat back down, and Shirley gave her a thumbs up.
Lillian looked at Barry. "Do you know Jenny?"
Barry simply replied, "We've met a few times, but we're not close."
"But Miss Jenny seems to have a deep affection for you," Shirley teased.
Barry smiled gently. "But I already have someone I like, and it's not Miss Jenny."
His gaze inadvertently met Lillian's, and she felt a slight warmth in his eyes, but her mind was elsewhere.
Jenny had high standards, and Barry came from a distinguished background.
However, Lillian had never heard Barry mention his background or seen him in wealthy circles. She had always thought of him as an ordinary doctor.
"Is Wendy planning to enter the entertainment industry? The people she was with just now are quite influential in the entertainment industry." Shirley, who studied film, had not yet acted in a film but had been working as a stunt double on set, so she knew quite a few people in the entertainment industry. Of course, she knew them, but they didn't know her.
Thinking about Jackson buying music for Wendy at a high price, Lillian didn't find it surprising. "Probably."
"Wendy's violin skills and composition are not good at all. No wonder she bought music at a high price. She probably wants to use her violin skills as a stepping stone to enter the entertainment industry." Shirley sneered.
Lillian remained silent. Jackson was creating opportunities for Wendy, even lowering himself to accompany her for drinks and meals. His efforts were truly commendable.
