Chapter 162 She Was Destined to Be Seen by the Whole World
"Don't drink that. The water is too cold!" Barry said.
He found something was wrong with Lillian, who drank a bottle in a single gulp and then twisted another open, so he leaned over to take the water away.
Lillian drank in a hurry and started coughing.
"My body feels weak. I think the effects of the medicine haven't completely worn off yet. It needs to metabolize quickly. I have to catch up with Alice later. Even if the hope is slim, I have to be prepared," Lillian said.
She didn't want to tell Barry about the pregnancy.
Barry couldn't stop Lillian, so he parked the car on the side of the road. He got out of the car, moved a box of room-temperature water from the trunk, and placed it by her feet.
However, when Lillian arrived at the airport, Alice's flight had already taken off.
"Let's go back. If you send Anna some emails to explain, maybe you still have a chance," Barry comforted Lillian.
The two turned around, but Lillian looked up in surprise and saw Alice and Anna coming out of a VIP lounge.
Lillian was overjoyed as she said, "Alice, you haven't left yet! That's great."
She ran over there but was stopped by the bodyguard.
Alice was indifferent and didn't stop to listen to Lillian's explanation.
Lillian took two steps back, bowed apologetically, and said loudly, "Alice, I'm sorry. I really love dancing and sincerely want to learn from you. I'm sorry for wasting your time and giving you a bad experience on your Miracalia trip."
She was very sincere and didn't shirk responsibility.
Alice looked at her differently, turned around, and came to her.
Alice said, "You should explain."
Lillian said, "Okay."
"I'll give you only one minute." Alice raised an eyebrow.
Lillian's heart raced, and she quickly recounted the whole story.
Alice looked at her barefoot and pale face, and she didn't doubt her words.
She said to Lillian, "I'll give you five minutes. Are you ready?"
Lillian was stunned again. After Anna pushed her, she nodded in surprise.
Lillian said, "I'm ready. I can do it!"
Alice nodded, signaled the others to wait outside, and then returned to the VIP lounge.
Barry quickly took Lillian's coat and smiled.
He said, "Good luck."
Lillian took a deep breath and followed Alice inside.
Barry waited anxiously outside. Alice said she would only give Lillian five minutes, but after nearly twenty minutes passed, neither of them came out.
After Barry looked at his watch many times, the door opened, and Lillian came out.
There were fine beads of sweat on Lillian's forehead. Her temples were damp, but her eyes were as bright as stars.
Meeting Barry's eyes, Lillian smiled lightly.
She said, "Barry, thank you. I succeeded."
Barry also smiled and said, "I knew it. Congratulations, Lillian. I hope you'll shine like a star on the world stage in the future."
After they left, Anna went in.
Anna asked, "Alice, did you agree to Lillian? Is it because of Mr. Frane?"
Alice put on her coat and replied, "No. Lillian is a dancer destined to be seen by the whole world. She deserves it. Her dance convinced me."
Anna raised an eyebrow as she said, "It seems you admire Lillian a lot. Congratulations. But now we should board. Mr. Frane has arranged a private jet and it is waiting for us."
Alice nodded, and they walked out together.
Anna smiled and said, "Mr. Frane is strange. He paid a high price to help Lillian yet did not want us to mention it to her."
Alice shrugged, laughing and shaking her head. "Lillian also asked me to keep something from Mr. Frane. People's emotions are very complex."
