Chapter 525 Fear
Star turned to look at Susan, sensing that Jackson's visit was unusual.
He came with a fierce momentum, harboring malice towards the Price family.
Jackson's eyes were cold and his expression calm. Star's voice weakened, and she retreated two steps, appearing panicked and bewildered.
Jackson ignored Star, his gaze fixed directly on Susan.
After a moment, he spoke in a deep voice, "Mrs. Price, you should be very clear about my reason for being here today. Is there nothing you want to explain?"
Susan sat on the sofa, her hands clasped, back straight, exuding elegance.
Her face was pale, but her voice was steady as she said, "Jackson, I told you yesterday. If you have evidence, call the police to arrest me. Otherwise, I have nothing to say."
However, just as she finished speaking, Dominic hurriedly walked in from outside.
Dominic's hand was covered in blood, his expression anxious and angry, and he furiously shouted at Jackson.
"Jackson, you need to let Don go! What on earth happened for you to have him beaten to a bloody pulp and left barely alive?"
He hadn't come in earlier because he recognized the person being held by Harry was Don.
Before Dominic's questioning voice faded, there was a sound as Susan accidentally knocked over the teacup on the coffee table, her facial muscles twitching and her hands trembling.
Dominic rushed over, took Susan's hand, and expressed his concern. "Why are your hands so cold? I know you're worried about Don, but you need to take care of yourself too."
Susan's ears were ringing, and she couldn't believe that Don was still alive.
Had he really returned to Miracalia alive?
Last night, she had received a call telling her that Don was dead.
But how did Don end up in Jackson's hands?
What had Don said?
No! Maybe Dominic was mistaken.
Susan forced herself to calm down and said, "What do you mean Don is covered in blood? Quick, Dominic, help me go see him."
"No need for you to move, Mrs. Price. I've brought Don to you."
As Harry's voice trailed off, Don, covered in blood, was heavily thrown into the living room.
Susan couldn't see, but Star saw everything clearly.
Don was lying at her feet, his face exposed, with several wounds, bloody and flesh torn, deep enough to see the bone.
Upon seeing the tortured Don, Star was terrified and involuntarily screamed. She took several steps back, her legs giving way, and she fell to her knees.
She closed her eyes, not daring to look again.
Fear spread like a tide, engulfing her.
She was afraid that Jackson would use the same methods on her.
"Don? Tell me, what happened? Didn't I send you to Valoria to find Lillian and ensure her safety? What did you do? Those attacks have nothing to do with you, right?"
Susan stood up, groping her way to Don.
On the ground, Don, enduring the pain, lifted his head. Just as he opened his mouth, Susan tightly grasped his hand and continued, "Don, don't worry. If you made a mistake, I won't abandon you. Just tell me..."
Lillian, who had been silent, chuckled and said, "You might as well tell him that he can't escape now. It's best for him to obediently take the blame, and you won't abandon him."
"Otherwise, if he reveals that you're the mastermind and offends the Price family, no one will escape, and there will be no benefits. Mrs. Price, isn't that what you mean?"
Lillian raised an eyebrow, feeling confident that her deduction was correct.
