Chapter 456 Dirty

The mother, holding her child, was visibly shaken. Her face was pale as she spoke, "Sorry about that."

Star stepped out from behind Jackson and gently said, "Jackson, don't be like that; he's just a kid."

She moved closer and spoke softly to the crying child, "Hey there, it's okay. I'm just a little hurt, not scary at all. Stop crying, and next time I'll bring you some candy, alright?"

But the kid buried his face in his mom's arms and cried harder.

The mom awkwardly held the child and quickly left.

When Star turned around, a brief look of sadness crossed her face, but she quickly smiled.

"It's really nothing, I'm used to it."

But her hand kept trembling in Jackson's palm.

Jackson felt guilty, his brow furrowed.

In a low voice, he said, "That bastard, I'll find him and tear him apart!"

One of the kidnappers was dead, but the other, the one who cut off Star's finger, had fled abroad and was still at large.

Star nodded. "I believe you."

Jackson let go of Star's hand and turned around, realizing Lillian was gone.

A sense of emptiness filled his heart, causing sudden panic.

Jackson turned and quickly headed for the elevator. Star called out, "Jackson, my mom is still in surgery, aren't you staying?"

Jackson didn't look back, just said in a deep voice, "I'll come back later."

Star stood there, watching him disappear, then looked down at her mutilated fingers, lost in thought.

When Lillian walked out of the elevator, she looked calm.

The scene that had just happened seemed deeply imprinted in her mind.

She thought, 'There is nothing to be sad about; I should have expected this.

'After all, when Adara, pretending to be Star, was found, Jackson treated her with such care.

'I should have seen it clearly and been prepared.'

But she felt very uncomfortable.

It wasn't jealousy or sadness she felt—it was revulsion.

The fact that Jackson professed his love for her while showing deep sympathy for Star made her feel uneasy and disgusted. No woman would find that acceptable.

Lillian took an alcohol wipe and carefully cleaned her hands, then turned to find a trash can.

Turning around, she saw Jackson standing behind her.

Jackson stood tall and imposing, a single beam of light above casting a stark white glow over his striking features, giving him an eerie appearance, with shadows dancing in his eyes.

Instinctively, Lillian turned and quickly ran forward.

But she had barely taken two steps when Jackson grabbed her right arm.

Lillian turned back and threw the wet wipe in her hand at Jackson's face.

The dirty wipe hit Jackson's nose and fell to the ground.

His eyes were icy, and his lips twisted in a mocking smile. "You think I'm dirty?"

Her hands had just been held and rubbed by him.

Lillian looked back at him, feeling the cold aura emanating from him, knowing she shouldn't confront him directly.

But before she could stop herself, the words came out.

"Yes! Mr. Frane, if you know that, then let go!"

Her words completely ignited Jackson's emotions.

Jackson wrapped his arms around Lillian's waist, pulled her into a tight embrace, and without hesitation, lifted her chin and kissed her fiercely.

Lillian bit him hard.

The metallic taste of blood filled her mouth instantly.

But Jackson seemed to feel no pain, his large hand gripping the back of her neck, kissing her even deeper, making her unable to resist.
