Chapter 796
When Lillian came downstairs, Ambrose was still there.
Lillian was slightly surprised, "Ambrose, you're leaving so late today?"
"It rained heavily with strong winds last night, the roads are flooded and in bad condition. I'll take you."
Lillian had Ambrose prepare a low-key Audi for her to drive to The Kelly Media, but she didn't drive much and wasn't very skilled at it.
Ambrose was clearly worried, and Lillian smiled and nodded.
They got in the car together. The Kelly Media wasn't far from Mystic Meadows, usually less than a twenty-minute drive, but today it took almost ten minutes longer.
When they reached the street where The Kelly Media was located, Lillian said, "You can stop here, I'll get out and walk."
Ambrose glanced at her, knowing she didn't want to reveal her identity, so he nodded and pulled over.
Lillian waved at him, opened the car door, got out, and walked quickly towards the company building.
Unexpectedly, as soon as she entered the lobby, she ran into someone she disliked.
Anouk was dressed in a minimalist style today, but the expensive watch on her wrist and the rare leather bag she was carrying exuded an air of extravagant luxury.
Lillian didn't want to deal with her, glanced at her, and started walking towards the elevator.
But Anouk wouldn't let her go so easily. She quickly caught up to Lillian and sneered, "Lillian, you're really something. You won't let go of Mr. Frane, while you're seducing Ambrose. You're really good at getting in the way of other people's relationships."
Thinking about how Ambrose didn't leave after Lillian got out of the car, but watched her enter the company building before driving away, Anouk felt a surge of resentment.
Ambrose used to be very good to her, but ever since Lillian appeared, he had changed.
Moreover, when she was the Kelly family's heiress, Ambrose only saw her as a sister and refused to marry into the Kelly family.
Now with Lillian, Ambrose was willing to be the man silently protecting her.
The contrast was too stark, making her feel like a big joke.
Anouk couldn't accept it and wanted to tear Lillian apart.
Hearing Anouk's words, Lillian realized she must have seen her getting out of Ambrose's car.
She looked at Anouk, "Whose relationship did I interfere with? If you have a problem, go get it treated."
"Ms. Price and Mr. Frane grew up together and their story of mutual salvation has spread throughout Miracalia. Who do you think you interfered with? If it weren't for you, we would have been together eventually."
Anouk's eyes were filled with anger, but Lillian couldn't understand her thinking.
She coldly stared at Anouk, "I'm not your mother, I can't always give in to you and give you everything. I'm just taking back what's mine."
In the past, when Wendy returned to the Sivan family, York and Grace also stopped acknowledging her, causing Lillian pain.
If Anouk had a pure and harmless character, Lillian might have accepted her staying in the Kelly family.
Just like she wouldn't ignore Max because of Bob and Mary, or hold grudges, but Anouk was a scheming troublemaker.
If Anouk stayed in the Kelly family, it wouldn't be a matter of Lillian tolerating her, but Anouk not tolerating Lillian.
Even so, the Kelly family only sent Anouk abroad to study, without making things too difficult for her.
But now Anouk repeatedly caused trouble for her, with an aggressive attitude, as if Lillian owed her something.
Lillian's face grew colder, and she took a photo of Anouk.
"What are you doing!"
Anouk instinctively felt something was wrong and reached out to grab Lillian's phone.
Lillian raised her hand to avoid her, coldly glaring at her, "Should I post your photo online, so everyone can see what the fake heiress who replaced me looks like? Let everyone judge who really owes whom?"
Anouk's face turned slightly pale at the thought of the consequences.
"Delete it!"
Her expression just now must not have been friendly, because she was really afraid Lillian would post it online.
Anouk raised her hand and struggled to grab the phone, but Lillian firmly grasped her wrist and said coldly, "Anouk Lawson, you say your last name is Lawson and you're part of the Lawson family, which is why I tolerate you appearing in front of me. But don't keep causing trouble for me, or I won't mind spending a little money to keep you trending online for a few days, got it?"
Lillian released Anouk's hand, and Anouk's eyes reddened.
Lillian stepped into the elevator, and Anouk bit her lip but still followed her in.
As the elevator doors slowly closed, Anouk put on an innocent, pitiful face and said, "Lillian, you misunderstood me earlier. I said that out of concern for you. You're now the heiress of the Kelly family, you can have any man you want, why go back to your ex-husband?"
Lillian didn't respond, treating Anouk as if she were air.
Anouk continued, "Really, Grandpa was already angry because you were bullied by the Frane family. If he finds out you're messing around with Jackson again, what if he gets so angry it affects his health? Grandpa and Grandma care about me, so I'm advising you for their sake."
"Take care of yourself first." Lillian scoffed.
Anouk couldn't possibly be that kind-hearted.
If she truly cared about Oberon and Flora, she wouldn't be acting this way.
She was completely clueless.
Anouk probably still resented Oberon and Flora for disregarding their past care and kicking her out of the Kelly family.
The elevator was about to arrive, seeing that Lillian didn't take her seriously at all, and Anouk became furious.
She suddenly grabbed Lillian's arm, "You really don't appreciate good intentions. Fine, let me show you how badly you're being talked about."
Anouk took out her phone, opened a group chat, and handed it to Lillian.
"See for yourself."
Since Anouk joined the company, she was speculated to be the Kelly family's heiress. She often treated several departments' colleagues to coffee and snacks.
Several colleagues deliberately befriended Anouk and added her to several groups.
Anouk initially disdained joining such low-level employee groups, but she was surprised to see many discussions about Lillian in the groups.
She enjoyed reading them so much that she even lost two or three hours of sleep out of excitement last night.
Running into Lillian this morning, she couldn't help but mock her.
It was degrading and embarrassing.
She was making a fool of herself and the Kelly family!
She couldn't understand how Oberon and Ambrose could choose Lillian over her, whom they had personally nurtured for over twenty years.
They were blind!
Lillian's attention was indeed drawn to the messages in the group.
[Mr. Frane's ex-wife is really scheming. I heard Mr. Frane was always waiting for Ms. Price, and it was this ex-wife who drugged and trapped Mr. Frane to get her position.]
[Oh my god, is she really that shameless and vicious?]
[Of course, otherwise, how could Mr. Frane, who deeply loves Ms. Price and never gave up searching for her, marry her?]
[No wonder she even tried to run over Ms. Price with a car. She must be jealous of Ms. Price for getting Mr. Frane's wholehearted love. Luckily, Mr. Frane divorced her and kicked her out.]
[Mr. Frane's ex-wife deserves to die. Compared to Ms. Price, she's like the evil supporting character in a novel, while Ms. Price is the kind and resilient heroine. Even with his eyes closed, Mr. Frane would know who to choose.]
[Evil supporting characters in novels never have a good ending. I curse this ex-wife to get hit by a car and never harm Ms. Price and Mr. Frane again.]
Lillian only scrolled through a small portion of the chat history, but it was enough to make her grip the phone so tightly that her knuckles turned white.
