Chapter 410 Jackson's Insistance
Wendy, clutching her chest, hurried out of the restroom. She'd just gotten a message from her doctor to visit the OB-GYN. Thinking the baby was her last hope, she rushed over without delay.
To her surprise, she saw Jackson bringing Lillian to visit Susan, who didn't like Lillian. With Star back in the picture, Wendy wanted to see Lillian squirm, so she followed them secretly.
Wendy thought, "I can't believe it. Star is a fake, and the real one is still missing. Why is Lillian so lucky?"
Full of resentment, Wendy arrived at the OB-GYN and went into the doctor's office. Hearing the diagnosis, she trembled, touching her slightly protruding belly, her eyes gloomy.
On the car back from the hospital, Lillian and Jackson sat in the back seat. Jackson looked upset, and Lillian guessed his talk with Susan hadn't gone well.
She held Jackson's hand, leaned over, and said, "If Susan can't accept it, maybe we should delay the wedding."
Jackson turned his hand to hold hers, rubbing her wedding ring with a slight smile. "Are you always this considerate?"
Lillian leaned on his shoulder. "Maybe Susan just needs time. She might come around."
If not, Susan didn't have much time left anyway. Waiting a bit longer wouldn't matter after two years.
Jackson gripped her wrist and asked. "Are you compromising, or do you not care about the wedding?"
Lillian frowned, thinking, 'I'm trying to help him, not make him unhappy.'
She lifted her head and asked, "What if we hold the wedding and Susan gets so upset something happens to her?"
If that happened, Jackson would feel even more guilty towards the Price family. He might even resent Lillian.
Lillian didn't care about Susan's approval, but Jackson clearly did.
Jackson's eyes were sharp. "An accident? What kind of accident?"
Feeling his displeasure, Lillian slowly withdrew her hand and whispered, "I'm just worried and speculating. I don't mean to curse Susan. If you think I'm wrong, I'm sorry."
She felt stifled and turned to look out the window.
Jackson looked at her cold profile and suddenly pulled her over. Lillian, unsteady, fell into his embrace.
Jackson pinched her chin, leaned in, and stared into her eyes. "Once the wedding is decided, it's not easily changed. I brought you here to announce it, not to ask for opinions."
Lillian, still in Jackson's embrace, didn't fully understand his meaning when she heard him give a deep order to Floyd. "Floyd, go to Style Canvas."
Style Canvas was the top bridal boutique in Miracalia, known for collaborating with famous designers. Most wealthy families bought their wedding dresses there.
At noon, Lillian and Lyra had talked about looking at wedding dresses, and Jackson had probably overheard.
