Chapter 83 "Lillian, I'm Angry Now!"

Jackson's gaze was riveted on the glass tank, the veins on the back of his hand, clutching the phone, pulsating. His countenance was a picture of calm, but his jawline was rigid, betraying a cold restraint."Who told you the child is mine? Divorce is not on my agenda. Keep your nose out of my affairs!" He cut Daisy off with icy indifference and ended the call. His eyes remained locked on the figure in the glass tank. As he took a step forward, his visage darkened with mounting fury.Terry was gripped by a strong suspicion that any moment now, Jackson would ball his fists and shatter the glass tank to extricate Ms. Lillian. He cautioned, "Mr. Jackson, please calm down!"

Jackson barely held his rage in check, his voice stern and commanding. "Evacuate the area at once!""Mr. Jackson, if your actions stir up a commotion, it might not be conducive to Ms. Lillian's mermaid performances here."A vein throbbed in Jackson's temple. Perhaps it was his intense gaze that caught her attention, for when Lillian turned and swam to the other side, her eyes met his.She was startled, releasing a stream of bubbles. Jackson maintained his composure, but Lillian could sense the fury simmering in his eyes.Feeling somewhat disconcerted, she quickly averted her gaze and flashed a wink at the group of children outside the glass tank. Her midday performance, consisting of two hundred dives, lasted forty minutes. Feeling winded, Lillian swam upwards, her fishtail undulating. Before she could fully surface, a large hand reached in, pulling her out by the arm.As Lillian emerged, her eyes stung and she was unable to open them due to the water splashed on her face. She was hauled out of the water by Jackson, who then cradled her in his arms. The familiar strength and stature immediately gave him away. She squirmed and protested, "What are you doing? Put me down, I haven't finished my performance!"Lillian, in his arms, was soaked and bare. Her long hair clung to her face and the nape of her neck, and her tail thrashed about. She resembled a fish out of water, vulnerable and helpless, inciting a sense of possessiveness in others.Jackson's face was stern, his voice colder than the pool water. "Lillian, my patience has run thin! If you wish to avoid public humiliation, I suggest you behave!"Lillian was startled by his threatening tone and gradually stopped struggling.

Terry hastily fetched a woolen blanket. He barely managed a glance before Jackson's terrifying gaze sent him recoiling, hastily averting his eyes.Jackson swathed Lillian in the blanket and made his way out. The path had been cleared. He carried Lillian out of the restaurant, where the bodyguards had the car door open.He settled Lillian in the back seat, and she immediately began to struggle, attempting to shed the blanket and escape. But Jackson was quick to react. He slammed the door shut, firmly gripped her shoulders, and kept her in check."What are you doing? I'm on the clock, what do you want?" Lillian writhed. Her hands were held fast by Jackson, who pinned her down. Jackson's handsome face was stern, his voice icy."Get out!"The driver, not Terry, was taken aback to see Mr. Jackson enter with a mermaid. At Jackson's command, he hastily exited the car, closed the door, and retreated. As Lillian pushed against Jackson, her face flushed with exertion."If you don't want us to make the headlines for inappropriate car activities, I suggest you behave!" Jackson pinned Lillian down, his voice cold and threatening.Upon realizing how the situation might appear to onlookers, Lillian froze, then shot Jackson an embarrassed glare and retorted, "I was just working, why must you create a scene?""Working? Is this your idea of work? Did I teach you to dive so you could parade around like this in such places?"Couldn't she see the lecherous and blatant stares of the men outside the glass tank?Damn it!Jackson's eyes were icy as he tore off the two seashell cups adorning Lillian's chest. The fragile bra came off easily, casting a further shadow over Jackson's already gloomy countenance."Lillian! What on earth are you wearing?!"
