Chapter 241 They Were Gradually Drifting Apart

However, once Lillian had spoken, it wasn't easy to take back her words. So, she had to return to the room and threw a blanket on the sofa for Jackson.

She was about to turn around with a stern face when suddenly a strange sound rang out.

In the quiet atmosphere, it sounded particularly loud.

Lillian and Jackson looked at each other, and the sound came again.

It was then that Lillian realized it was her stomach making the noise.

Instantly, she blushed.

'How embarrassing! Especially when I am trying to act aloof!' Lillian thought.

She covered her stomach and was about to sneak away when Jackson raised his hand and placed it on her abdomen, feeling around.

Lillian had taken off her coat and wore only a thin, fitted knit sweater so she could clearly feel the warmth and touch of his palm.

Jackson was touching her pregnant belly!

Lillian felt as if she were frozen in place, her whole body tense, her heart beating erratically.

It wasn't until Jackson chuckled lightly, looked up at her, and asked, "When did you become such a glutton? No wonder you seem to have gained a bit of weight."

Lillian pushed Jackson away, nervous and embarrassed, saying, "You're the one who's gained weight! I'm going back to bed!"

She turned and walked away. Jackson watched Lillian's slightly embarrassed and angry figure and let out a soft laugh.

Lillian closed the door, locked it angrily, and then lay on the bed, clutching her stomach.

However, it was just too difficult for her to fall asleep on an empty stomach. She tossed and turned for a long time, growing increasingly hungry.

She could endure her hunger, but she couldn't let the baby go hungry.

Lillian had to get up again. She quietly opened the door and peeked out to see if Jackson was asleep so she could sneak out and find some snacks.

To her surprise, the sofa was empty, but there was an irresistible scent lingering in the air.

Lillian sniffed and headed towards the kitchen.

As Jackson heard the sound of her footsteps, he turned his head in the kitchen.

He was only wearing a white shirt and black trousers. The collar was loose, and the sleeves were casually rolled up to his elbows, revealing his beautifully sculpted collarbones and toned, sensual forearms.

The dim yellow light above him enveloped him, and the aroma of food wafted around his face, creating a warm and pleasant atmosphere as if she had stepped into a dream.

Lillian stood foolishly at the doorway until Jackson softly spoke, "The pasta will be ready soon. Go get the utensils."

"Okay." Lillian snapped out of her daze, blinked quickly, and went over.

Jackson made two bowls of spaghetti with meat sauce and placed them on the table.

It was a flavor Lillian was familiar with.

When She was growing up, she was often hungry. She wasn't the true heir of the Frane family, so even though Jackson supported her and Lyra doted on her, she was still a guest in their home.

At night, she didn't dare disturb the servants to make more food. Jackson caught Lillian sneaking into the kitchen twice at night to find something to eat, so he instructed the servants to prepare food for her at night.

The servants didn't dare neglect this, but Lillian couldn't rest easy and would rather go hungry than sneak into the kitchen again.

Later, Jackson discovered that she was eating instant food in the middle of the night to stave off her hunger. He had no choice but to learn how to make pasta for her.

When Daisy asked about him making food at night, Jackson simply said he was hungry and didn't need help. Daisy believed him and let him be.

During that time, when Lillian got hungry at night, she would sneak over to knock on Jackson's door, and he would make pasta and bring them upstairs.

She would hide in Jackson's room and eat heartily. After she finished and left, Jackson would tidy up the room and open the windows for ventilation, just like taking care of a little princess.

However, as time went by, Jackson went abroad, and Lillian grew up, so their relationship gradually became distant.

It had been a long time since Lillian had eaten the spaghetti that Jackson made.
