Chapter 243 Embracing Her Waist from Behind

Lillian hadn't rested well all night and woke up in the middle of the night to touch Jeffrey's head.

When Lillian woke up the next day, it was already bright outside.

As she turned her head, she saw Jeffrey wrapped in a quilt, lying still with his back to her. Lillian reached out and rubbed his head, saying, "You should get up now!"

Jeffrey still didn't wake up. Lillian smiled as she sat up, continuing, "Don't pretend. Get up. I'll take you back after breakfast..."

Before she could finish her sentence, her expression changed. Jeffrey's face was burning hot. Lillian turned him over and saw a patch of blood-red under his nose. The blood had already soaked through half of the pillow.

"Jeffrey, wake up! Jackson!" With a pale face, Lillian helped Jeffrey up, pulled out tissues to wipe the blood, and called out loudly for Jackson.

Jackson responded by pushing the door, but it was locked.

As Lillian was about to get out of bed to open the door, Jackson burst in.

As Jackson saw Lillian sitting on the bed, looking panicked, holding the unconscious Jeffrey, he frowned slightly. He stepped forward to wrap Jeffrey in a thin quilt, and lifted him.

"Don't worry. Put on warm clothes before coming down." Jackson's voice was steady, with a soothing tone.

Lillian ran to the door, and then put on her clothes hurriedly.

As she came downstairs, Jackson had already placed Jeffrey in the back seat of the car and was on the phone, seemingly talking to a doctor.

Lillian got into the car, holding Jeffrey, and they sped off.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Jeffrey was immediately taken to the emergency room. Lillian looked at the closed door and felt weak in her legs.

Jackson came up behind her, and his warm and broad chest was against her back. He embraced her waist and supported her, asking, "Are you scared?"

Jackson's voice was low and soothing. Lillian responded softly, leaning against him for gaining courage. She had never seen Jeffrey have an episode before, and it was more frightening than she had imagined. All the way, she held Jeffrey, unable to wake him up, his nosebleed continuing to flow.

"Will Jeffrey be okay?" Lillian looked up as she asked, her heart aching.

Jackson helped her to a nearby chair, carefully wiping the blood stains of her hands with alcohol wipes. Jackson comforted, "Everyone knows that Jeffrey is the little troublemaker of the Frane family. He's always making trouble. What could happen to him?"

Perhaps it was his teasing tone that made Lillian relax a little. She retorted, "You can't talk about him like that. If there's a troublemaker in the Frane family, it's you. Jeffrey has always been so kind."

"Alright. Have I caused trouble to you?" Jackson asked.

He cleaned up, disposed of the wipes, squeezed Lillian's hand, and looked into her eyes. His dark eyes made Lillian's heart race.

She thought, 'Isn't he the big troublemaker? I had lost my heart to him.'

Only now did she realize how intimate their actions were. She panicked and tried to withdraw her hand, but Jackson suddenly tightened his grip.

Jackson looked up as he asked, "Why did you cry when you eat pasta last night?"

Feeling flustered by his questioning gaze, Lillian casually replied, "It's nothing, sometimes women just feel like crying for no reason."

Jackson stared at her as he asked, "You cried because you tasted a certain emotion in the pasta. What was it?"

Lillian felt his intense gaze piercing through her, making her feel exposed.

She was at her breaking point, so she pulled her hand away and said in annoyance, "Jeffrey is still in the emergency room, but you're talking to me about the relationship. There's nothing."

She tried to stand up, but Jackson suddenly opened his palm and held her hand tightly, asking, "If there's nothing, why are you avoiding it?"

"I'm not avoiding anything!" Lillian replied.

"But you don't even dare to look into my eyes." Jackson's voice was heavy, and he pressed on.

Lillian took a deep breath, finally meeting his gaze head-on.
