Chapter 640

Jackson had this gut feeling that someone from the Price family messed with Lillian, and he was seriously freaked out.

The doc rolled in with all his gear to check Lillian out from head to toe.

But after all that, he said there was nothing physically wrong with her.

The doc thought maybe her mind was just shutting down, refusing to deal with reality. If she didn't snap out of it soon, she might slip into a deep coma, which was super dangerous.

Lyra was holding Lillian's hand, calling her name over and over, saying all kinds of stuff, but Lillian was just out of it.

Jackson hit up Shirley again. She rushed over, but even with all her crying and yelling, Lillian stayed in her own world.

It was like she'd given up on everything and just wanted to be with Taylor.

Mystic Meadows.

That evening, Ambrose's assistant, Dashiell, bolted upstairs and banged on Ambrose's door.

Ambrose was in his dressing room. When Dashiell barged in, Ambrose had just thrown on his shirt and hadn't even buttoned it yet.

The wind caught the edge of his white shirt, showing off a bit of his abs.

“Did you find out?” He didn't even turn around, just asked all chill.

Dashiell, trying not to stare too much, said, “Mary got her legs busted and was dumped out of Miracalia. When I found her, she was begging in Luminae. I got the scoop; she really did have a baby at Radiant Life Clinic back then! On the day she gave birth, Bob said he couldn't afford the hospital bills, so he rushed her out, and she left the same day. Here's a sample of Mary's hair.”

Ambrose's hand froze mid-button.

Back then, Ophelia had gone with him to Miracalia for a chess tournament and had an unexpected early birth. Even though he was young, that memory was crystal clear.

The hospital Ophelia went to was Radiant Life Clinic.

Lillian and Anouk were born on the same year, month, and day, both at Radiant Life Clinic.

Thinking about how Flora was naturally drawn to Lillian and how Lillian looked and acted so much like Ophelia, Ambrose's breathing got heavy. He was almost sure of it.

Lillian was probably Ophelia's real daughter.

As he and Dashiell headed downstairs, Flora and Anouk were in the living room, having a tug-of-war.

“No, let go of me! Don't pull me!”

Flora's voice was all panicked and annoyed, but Anouk was gripping her hand, trying to drag her to the room.

“Grandma, come on. Don't you wanna change into a pretty dress and go see the show with me? It's really cool.”

“I don't wanna go!” Flora struggled, totally not cooperating.

Anouk frowned, looking super impatient.

She was about to call the servants to drag Flora back to the room when Ambrose's voice came from the stairs.

“Anouk, what are you doing?”

Anouk's heart skipped a beat, and she let go of Flora.

Flora spun around and quickly walked to Ambrose.

She rolled up her sleeve, pointed at Anouk, and pouted, complaining to Ambrose.

“Ambrose, she's mean. She hurt me!”

There were two red marks on Flora's arm, clearly from Anouk's rough grip.

Ambrose frowned slightly and looked at Anouk.

Anouk looked all sad and hurt, saying, “Ambrose, I just wanted Grandma to go to the concert with me. Ever since we got to Miracalia, none of you have spent time with me!”

Instead, everyone was all about Lillian.

These past few days, Lillian being MIA was a huge relief for her.

She didn't expect Flora to be constantly worried about Lillian, making a fuss day and night!

Every morning and night, she'd be looking for Lillian.

Just now, Flora was making a fuss about going out to find Lillian again, which made Anouk super uncomfortable, so she tried to coax Flora into going to see a musical with her.
