Chapter 361 Scald

"Lilian, you're Jackson's wife. How can you be powerless? Even for Wade's sake, you can't just stand by!" York said displeasingly.

Wendy walked over, linking arms with Grace, and sighed. "Mom, Dad, forget it. Lillian hasn't cared about old feelings from childhood for a long time. If Jackson hadn't been helping her, he wouldn't have taken such extreme actions against the Sivan family. Lillian probably never intended to help from the start. Don't worry. I won't let anything happen to the Sivan family. I've arranged a meeting with Julian Evans from Trust Core Bank through my connections. Tonight, I'll make Eric agree to provide us with a loan."

Wendy was owing discord. York, exhausted from seeking funds, suddenly erupted in anger and raised his hand to hit Lillian, shouting, "You've been toying with us! We loved you for nothing when you were a child!"

Lillian didn't expect York to suddenly strike. Before she could react, the slap was already in front of her.

But the anticipated pain didn't come. Shirley, hearing the commotion from the private room, rushed out and grabbed York's hand just in time.

"Let go!" Shirley was strong, and York immediately cried out in pain.

Shirley grabbed his wrist, pushed him aside, and shielded Lillian behind her, sneering. "How dare you mention Lilian's childhood? Why not mention how you heartlessly abandoned her? Now Wendy is your daughter, and the Sivan Group is hers to inherit. What does it have to do with Lilian? If you want Lilian to help, that's fine. You need to draft a will and make Lilian the primary heir. Otherwise, stop bothering her! Let me tell you, Lilian respects you as elders and doesn't hold grudges. I don't have such considerations. If you dare to lay a hand on her again, I'll dislocate your arm!"

Shirley pushed York back several steps before letting go.

York stumbled into the wall, his face flushed.

Shirley turned to walk towards Lillian, but Wendy suddenly grabbed a bowl of hot soup from a passing waiter and threw it at Shirley.

"Shirley, watch out!" Lillian was shocked and rushed to push Shirley aside.

The bowl of soup spilled mostly onto Lillian's sleeve, steaming and dripping down her arm.

"Lillian!" Shirley was horrified and quickly helped Lillian take off her coat.

Fortunately, Lillian's down jacket was waterproof, and only a small patch on the back of her hand was scalded.

"Wendy!" Shirley glared at Wendy, who looked at Lillian with a mocking smile.

Wendy smirked and said, "Lillian, you spilled coffee on me last time. This is payback!"

Wendy thought, 'Lillian has agreed to help Grace and York before, but now she suddenly refuses. It must be because of Star. Lillian and Jackson must separate again. Since I can't have Jackson, how does Lillian deserve him?'

She felt triumphant and walked towards the private room with Grace and York.

Shirley was furious, but treating Lillian's burn was more important now.

She quickly pulled Lillian into the restroom, turned on the faucet, and held Lillian's scalded hand under the cold water.

"Wendy is crazy! Does it hurt a lot?" Shirley asked anxiously.

Lillian shook her head and was about to speak when a familiar voice suddenly sounded nearby. "Is she scalded? I happen to have some ointment. You should apply it to her."

Lillian turned and saw a beautiful, gentle woman.

The woman took out the ointment from her bag and handed it to Shirley.

In the crook of the woman's arm was a dark gray men's cashmere coat.

Lillian recognized it as the one Jackson had worn when he left home that morning.

Her breath was caught for a moment, and the pain in her hand spread to her heart.

Lillian thought, 'What a coincidence. I actually meet my rival in such a sorry state. If Star's here, Jackson must be, too, since his coat is in Star's arm.'
