Chapter 631

But when Jackson rolled into that hellhole of a town and saved her, she was a goner.

She really wanted to tie the knot with him!

Star was all jittery, "Jackson, c'mon, just say yes to Dad already. The cops are getting antsy and might barge in."

Jackson's grip tightened, his face turning icy. He cut Star off, his lips barely moving.

"I can't do it."

Star's face went beet red, feeling totally crushed.

She couldn't wrap her head around Jackson saying no.

He'd already ditched Lillian, but even now, he wouldn't agree to marry her.

Was she really that awful, that hard to accept?

"But this is my only ask. You promised Susan, and it's her dying wish."

Dominic wasn't backing down.

Star's hope flickered back to life. She got up and stood next to Jackson, her eyes all teary.

"Jackson, Lilian's too fragile for prison."

Star looked at Lillian in Jackson's arms, full of pity and worry.

Seeing Jackson still silent, she got on her tiptoes, leaned into his ear, and whispered.

"I know you still care about Lillian. I just wanna help. Say yes to my dad, and then we can be a married couple in name only."

Star was playing the long game. Marrying Jackson would kill any shot he had with Lillian. She figured she'd have plenty of time to make him fall for her eventually.

Star was sure she could sway Jackson, but he stepped back with Lillian in his arms.

His eyes were cold as he spoke to Dominic.

"Instead of forcing me to marry Star and getting nothing, how about taking the immediate win? I'll hand over the Enchanted Grove land to the Price family for free. Deal, Mr. Price?"

Dominic squinted, "Really? That land's worth a fortune."

Star saw Dominic was tempted and got anxious.

"Dad."

But Dominic raised his hand to shut her up.

Jackson looked down at Lillian and said, "If you're interested, Mr. Price, we can draft the transfer contract right now."

"Alright."

Dominic glanced at the butler, who quickly made arrangements. Within five minutes, Jackson had signed and stamped the contract.

Dominic picked it up, looked it over, nodded in satisfaction, and handed it to the butler to keep.

Jackson said coldly, "Now, Mr. Price, can you hand over the surveillance footage and tell the cops outside to leave?"

Dominic nodded, and the butler stepped forward. "Here's all the surveillance data. The agreement says the Price family won't pursue this, and our staff won't talk."

Jackson signaled Harry to get rid of the footage, then stood up and carried Lillian out.

Dominic had the servants help Star out and told the police, "Misunderstanding, it's all a misunderstanding. Star and Ms. Young are friends. Ms. Young just had a miscarriage, came to talk to Star, and in her daze, hit the gas instead of the brake. It's all sorted out."

The lead cop looked at Star, "Ms. Price, is that true?"

Star's head was throbbing. She thought Lillian would definitely end up in jail today.

But in the end, Lillian walked free, and Jackson didn't agree to marry her.

She'd gotten seriously hurt and ended up with nothing.

She was fuming, totally resentful!
